  1. 1. The House In Fata Morgana doesn't have shenanigans like this, and actually approaches sexual intimacy in a nuanced and serious manner. Though I think 'actually acts like a functioning human person that understands women are people, and is not a baboon' is a touch different from 'no sex drive'. that piece of shit VN has a cold-blooded literal pedophile for a protagonist
  2. Umineko and The House In Fata Morgana are absolute musts. Zero Escape too, if you have time, if only to see the worst conclusion to a series in perhaps the genre's entire history
  3. nope. tbf every single vn I've seen to use that feature was sadistic in some way
  4. this is to preggo nukige what lord of the rings is to fantasy literature the same company has a few more preggo games. hara para and hana kano, I think. none reach the narrative heights of mamankyoushitsu
  5. Well, what makes Ever17 so widely lauded in general, funnily enough, is that very twist. So a lot of mystery novels out there might piss you off in similar ways. It's single route, but if you seek a mystery VN you'll find nothing better than Umineko. Its ending will probably piss you off, but Remember11 is definitely worth a try otherwise, it's better than E17 in many ways. YU-NO is archaic as hell, though the mystery part of the story is interesting, and has some weird characterization (in that you commit the good ol' incest-a-roo quite a few times in the story). You should also check out 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. It's an incredible game to play standalone. There are two more Zero Escape games out there (Virtue's Last Reward, Zero Time Dilemma) but those two are highly connected and ZTD is shit so just playing 999 is more worth your time. Get it on DS if you can. If not, it's sold under the title of The Nonary Games on Vita, PS4 and PC.
  6. The House In Fata Morgana has some romantic elements but it is not the main focus. The main focus is people suffering.
  7. If we mean "takes the medium and takes the places it never went to before" I'd wager Umineko is the one. But if we mean "influenced the behavior of the people in the industry (esp. developers) going forward" then honestly no idea, maybe except games like Ace Attorney and Danganronpa paving the way of the normalization of the industry by performing as "gateway VNs".

  13. ARE YOU FUCKING TELLING ME RYUKISHI IS WRITING A FUCKING BATTLE ROYALE STORY THIS WILL KILL ME
  14. Both can work very well, but bittersweet is best.
  15. No, but it's mostly because I don't really play romance-based VNs in the first place.
  16. Looks so good. Still love the art style.
  17. might wanna add lesbian to the title
  18. Don't recall even finishing a VN without some sort of true or special ending. They're more or less needed for a proper conclusion IMO. Maybe I'd consider the latter option if the genre went beyond "you date X different girls so there are X equivalent endings yay!" in terms of having equally significant endings. Saya no Uta might count perhaps, in which case it'd be a great example in favor. Though I think one of its endings can be taken as true.
  19. First of all how dare u Second of all How fucking dare u Sora is literally the best thing about ever17
  20. umineko the house in fata morgana ever17 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors remember11 saya no uta
  21. I'll second this.
  22. Depends on the reason... If it's about license agreements or legal mishmash I won't give a shit, but I'd consider distributing/accessing it a slight to the creator if it's a more personal matter.
