My biggest problem with the stuff like the Pokemon censorship is that it's lazy, they change the dialogue but not the animation, so they're holding rice balls and calling them jelly doughnuts.

I honestly am not fully aware of what changes 4kids have made to all of their shows or even all the shows they've licensed. They license stuff to air in the morning on american broadcast TV stations, right? My thoughts on 4kids are incomplete and uninformed.

I don't know how you extrapolated that meaning from what I said. I said it wasn't censorship. As in, any form of censorship, self-induced or otherwise. I'm not saying that self-censorship never happens or that we haven't seen it in the VN scene, just that most of what we see people getting their panties in a bunch over doesn't actually qualify and isn't worthy of criticism.

The first question is ridiculous. The question isn't whether self-censorship is censorship, the question is whether most of these practices are actually self censorship in the first place.

I would say Konosora is better. Shame about the translation though. Once the retranslation is done I would recommend it to anyone.

So the second chapter is also really light on the drama? This is so un-minori-like. And it's clear that they don't do pure light-hearted slice of life very well. It's starting to become clear why this wasn't as successful as they hoped for in Japan.

The irony is rather incredible. I barely even see anyone mention that guy here while they're absolutely obsessed with him on /jp/ and /vn/, lol.

I would very strongly recommend that you guys wait for an official announcement before jumping to conclusions on release dates.

Erm, the conversation was about 50+ hour VNs. The only one of the last few posts that qualifies was probably Umineko 1-4.

There are MANY like that? Really? Because Grisaia and Clannad are probably the only ones that seem like they fit the bill to me. Besides, there's more to price than just length.

I'm basically just expecting Dies Irae to be a pretty good action story. Which makes it one of the few VNs I actually have expectations for. I typically try to have absolutely no expectations when going into something new but with Dies Irae, that's pretty much impossible. But still, got to keep it realistic.

We have unfortunately heard very little about it. I'm not sure what to make of it since it is highly unofficial and operated by Doki, not Fruitbat, but Doki are apparently assisting on the official release so perhaps it could be used as some indication of progress.

Double posting is simply when you make two posts in a row without anyone posting in between them. IMO there's nothing wrong with it if you actually have a half decent reason, even if it's just to be funny or something, but SOME NAZI MODS have a problem with it.
