  1. DAILY CHALLENGES BEGIN TOMORROW! Along with the points totals. I'm exhausted today and can't be bothered to post any challenge or do simple addition. I'm off work tomorrow though :'3
  2. Let me clarify my question then. Obviously, I know they won't give a doom and gloom answer, but what sort of expectations do they have for those two releases in particular (Grisaia and Clannad) and do they feel the majority of people who wanted them already funded it for a copy? What would they consider a successful release?
  3. About 8 hours before this week closes. Get your last minute entries in! Point totals go up tonight too
  4. Alright, so we are looking at doing a two group club then. A retro club, and a newer games club. Yes, you can join both if you feel so inclined, as I might join both at times. At the end of the time period, a discussion post for each group will go up, so we can keep the main thread for piking out games and instructions. I'll make an official post tonight after work and we will spend the next day or so picking out what our first games will be. I'm looking forward to it!
  5. Ryechu reviewed it for FuwaReviews and really enjoyed it: http://reviews.fuwanovel.net/official-fuwareviews/chou-dengeki-stryker/
  6. Made my return to anime with the Bodacious Space Pirates movie. If you loved the series, you'll love the movie, simple as that. Was a ton of fun.
  7. General opinion: Learn Japanese. Machine translations are the devil. And I agree.
  8. Alright. That bullshit assignment is done. Now for my more fleshed out idea for this as we have plenty of interest. The first hurdle we have is the cost. Not everyone has the means, or addiction to buy as much as others. Naturally, I will attempt to stick to cheaper games as much as possible, but also would like to tackle longer games, mostly because I hate a lot of indie games (don't get me started on this). One thing we do have going for us, is emulation. Lower end systems can typically run NES and SNES roms without much fuss, and a decent mid range system can handle PS1 emulation. So that is certainly an option. The first step for me, is to get an idea of what everyone has. If you want to, make a list of what systems you own, and how you would classify your computer (lower, mid, high, i have too much money ultra). If we have the numbers, we can certainly split this into groups. For example, us PS3 fags can be playing Eternal Sonata for the month, while another group could be playing emulated Parasite Eve or something. And then we of course have Steam and GoG. This would tie more into what type of computer you have and how you would classify it. How I see this working, is we as a group pick a game. Unlike anime, vn, and manga clubs, we don't have the option of free console gaming unless it is emulated, so we would need to find a game many of us own. Then, over the course of a month or so, we play the game x number of hours. You don't have to beat the game of course, and sticking to a certain number of hours will make sure we dont spoil things for others by discussing it. We then discuss what we thought of the game, and our experiences. I see this as a way to maybe get introduced to new genres and games, as well as here other view points from people who maybe have different taste. We might get some cool discussion out of all of this. So, thoughts on this?
  9. I'll get up my full idea for this after I finish this damned homework assignment
  10. I'm curious as to how profitable things are for them after a kickstarter. My biggest worry with Grisaia and Clannad, is that all the people who wanted it, kickstarted it for a copy, and upon release, we won't see many sales. Is this a concern of theirs or what are their thoughts on this concern of mine?
  11. A fresh convert
  12. It doesn't have to be completed. And it'd be enough time to get a good impression. Lord knows it takes me months to finish games usually.
  13. Just want to gauge interest for an idea I have. I was thinking of possibly starting a Fuwanovel gaming club, where we play... video games. We would all play the same game/s over a period of time, and discuss what we like/don't like etc. Any interest in this?
  14. Finally close to healthy again

    1. Nayleen

      Nayleen

      That's good to hear, Bats-kun.

  15. You bet your ass I will be testing this theory out. As for Triad wars, it looks like it may be like GTA Online in terms of how it works, except you run gangs and stuff. I feel like it will be pay to win
  16. You have a few choices actually in terms of localized titles. Could start with Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana which is more of a traditional jrpg. Or you could go with Atelier Rorona Plus (make sure you play the Plus version) which is a time based jrpg. Or you could go with Atelier Ayesha. All three of these are the start of a different trilogy. Lets not also forget Mana Khemia which is in fact an Atelier series too. Its the start of the time based mechanics (for English titles. Series was time based before Iris).
  17. Completely different. Way less over the top. Way more story focused. Much less gun play. More hand to hand combat. M
  18. I really had fun with it. Wasn;t anything amazing, but I would love to see more. It is a shame they are making Triad Wars a MMO instead of making another true story focus game set in Hong Kong. Obviously, Wei Shen's story is over, but it'd be fun to play as someone like Jackie maybe, someone who is genuinely joining the Triad gangs and work your way up through the gang in a story focused manner. Typically, its either April Year 3 or April Year 6 I think. Sometimes, the main quest doesn't appear until after Year 3 ie. Totori.
  19. I'd rather not deal wih 98% of the people here face to face. And many people at conventions look and seem annoying. Not to mention the terrible cosplay.
  20. As long as MY Little Dictator is coming out soon, I'm okay with this. Never liked the idea of an indie developer running a kickstarter for a second game, before they even finish their first kickstarted game.
  21. New Game+. I dont think any of them let you play past the time limit Beat Sleeping Dogs thanks to pain keeping me out of work. Now to dive back into Stalker.
  22. I have never once gone to a convention. They scare me
  23. I believe the PS3 version of Vesperia (Japan only release) has been translated, meaning you could play it with Japanese voices and read the subs as you go or apply them if you have a hacked PS3. Other than that, none of the Tales games have dual audio that I'm aware of.
  24. MOTHER TRUCKIN SPLATOON SON!!!!
