  1. Er.. I never said he didn't have any weaknesses or close to that. Reread my post. The whole fake Tsundere routine is played out. Good for cheap laughs at the beginning but it's become the same shtick every scene. Her fans are the masochists variety. Jk, jk.
  2. Right - I like Makina as well, but I don't love her for the same reasons. She's like looking into a mirror. I recently passed her route option and skipped it. I have other characters in mind. As for the MC, he feels like an empty vessel for me. Yuuji and Kenichi are an awfully lot similar, except Kenichi had a lot more vulnerabilities and weakness' apparent right off. I haven't played a whole lot of this genre to be honest but I wonder if this is a typical character trope.
  3. Ok you made me really interested in seeing her route now. Maybe not on my first play through but it's above 0% now.
  4. I'd probably hate her more in Makina's route than her own route from your description! Lol. The main issue I have with are the redundancy of her being the running gag, and after every scene it ends with Yuuji+Michiru-monogatari. I liked that scene when she was speaking with Yuuji about the ocean .
  5. Bahahaha! Point taken. Not that I agree but I will never make fun of someone else's beauty preference. crunchytaco, on 25 Jun 2014 - 2:26 PM, said: The sentence isn't structured like you think. I always dislike characters | that happen to be fan favorites | who I find out that fact after googling them. edit*: well I'm not sure if that made better sense but I'm implying it so you should understand already.
  6. This is turning out a lot to be like rock paper scissors and I'm losing. What gives you the idea that I'm pretentiously being a hipster? Lol. Like I said, most of the time I have no idea that my most disliked character happens to be a fan favorite until I google them. 'Dice just rolls that way. I am past that age of formulating my opinions based on other's... fashionable tastes.
  7. Well I do remember you mentioning your love for amoral characters and Makina reminds me of Bender from Futurma. I do get very entertained whenever Makina opens her mouth and says something completely ridiculous and borderline evil. e.g.: My mouth may have been going down in quality lately, but my other holes have been getting better... if you know what I mean. Hint, hint. I'm weird. I always dislike characters, who, after goggling them I find out that they're fan favorites.
  8. Michiru is equaling my experience with Muv Luv: Lacrosse right now. After the hilarious english lesson with her and Makina, it's been getting repetitiously dragged out with her being the butt of everyone's jokes every single day. Thus I'm not seeing my other girls getting any attention and character development.
  9. God it's burning. I don't think I can take anymore of that fake Tsundere endearment. Well, I wouldn't put it above anyone since this happens every day... and Michiru is a popular character so I'm not surprised if her legion of fans do put me on the spot.
  10. Yeah, about that rude thing you were accusing me of in that first post...
  11. Opinion noted Sorry, I don't like the vast majority of otaku's very normal taste in girls So when does this end?
  12. Sorry, I'm getting really frustrated with a VN that has otherwise very likable characters. I like Michiru but I can't stand seeing her recycled humor over and over again. I'm watching Makina beat her up for the second time. So far it feels like she has been getting 75% of the game's focus. When does this he*l end? I feel like I'm stuck in Muv Luv lacross again. <Rant>
  13. It goes without saying that if they're untranslated, they can't be appreciated by the non-native speaking majority. That alone makes most of them underrated. That's why I'm learning.
  14. I've read the entire manga and loved every bit of it. I felt no need to touch the Anime but I was wondering what was it that left you wanting more? I haven't heard any complaints about it unless you're referring to the live action movie. Harem Rom Coms always leaves unsatisfying but the ride sure is fun. In my heart, Steins;Gate is a seinen Harem RomCom that has a conclusive ending so I always have that. I get a broken link when I click that.
  15. Ninja Gaiden 2 on the NES, arguably the best Ninja Gaiden title and soundtrack to date (my opinion). My favorite tracks on it are Tower of Lahja and Deep Within the Heart.
  16. That's silly. No one would argue that the sky is blue .
  17. Did you ever have that urge to take the reins of an entire Anime project and steer it into the proper direction (maybe not directly with your own hands)? That anime that could have had so much potential to be great if it didn't have the lousy half of the second season? I thought Samurai Flamenco's first 6-7 episodes were going to lead to something divine. We had a pretty big revelation at the end of episode 7, when a drug bust went wrong and several people died. This revelation was the Episode 25 Berserk-esque type. Then the unexpected happened: the writer died and left the rest to the assistant who's only job is to bring coffee every morning.
  18. You'll cry just as many tears as all three combined too.
  19. *glare* I'm still figuring out if the English patch exists for the Android.
  20. We live in tough economic times. It makes anyone cynical. The cynics need heroes like Batman and Kiritsugi to stand up for them . The treatment of Saber in fate/zero was especially bad for us and a win for cynics everywhere. I cringed in embarrassment each time she lost an argument to Kiritsugi (and practically everyone). We all know Kiritsugi and her are from the same idealistic stock though (heck their life examples were the same.) Kiritsugi's broken dreams at the end of the series had cynics rejoicing everywhere... if they weren't so hardened by cynicism by then.
  21. Lol obviously more. I think people are turned off because of how dated it is and never give it a try. The voice acting is one of the best I've heard. Even more so when you turn off the music and can hear every nuance and tonality in their voices. Amazing.
  22. Well it makes me pretty sad that F/SN's was included in this, and my Saber is hated so much. I've personally never discussed her with any fans so I don't know what "Saberfags" are like. It was my first VN and Saber was my first VN favorite. I wasn't personally attracted to her looks. I thought her whole character design from her blonde hair to her goth outfit was terrible straight off. There's a weird obsession with western Victorian/Goth culture in Japan. But her personality was amazing. She always carried a big stick but talked with that firm but gentle voice. "Shiro, I'm hungry." "Shiro, we should get going." "Shiro?" "Shiro!" I know I can always rely on her being by my side unless she gets possessed by an angry, rejected spirit. True she doesn't have any of the excitement of a Yandere, or the hot and cold teasings of a Tsundere (Though I think her bantering with Shirou in UBW and HFs were really cute.) But you know what they say, girls like bad boys when they're young but marry a nice guy when they're older. I think that applies in reverse to guys as well. ------------------------------------------- My worst experience with a VN was probably My Girlfriend is the President. Now that's stupid! Oh and Muv Luv: Lacrosse.
  23. Muv Luv Alternative 9.29 score is hard for me to believe when everything else is practically a 7+ on VNDB
  24. Mine wasn't a very original experience. I wanted to get into the Fate series one day, but was confused about my starting point. I posted a question on myanimelist and from there, people gave me 3 answers. 1) Skip Fate/stay night and watch Fate/Zero. 2.) Watch Fate/stay night and UBW first 3.) Just play the visual novel skip F:SN anime. Had I chosen to watch the animes first back then, I probably wouldn't be here talking right now.
  25. The quote and particular VN slips from my mind. Earlier today I remembered this great quote that was really practical to the moment. To me, a good quote doesn't have to be fancy. It's something that really strikes a chord with whoever's sitting there reading it though.
