  1. The last two episodes of Time Travelers (32 and 33) were real tear jerkers. But you'd need to watch all the other episodes to really appreciate the build up. (10 hours worth).
  2. If you like traps you should check out Rukako's route. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1NKt8X1kH0&list=PLMjWrtftxMTxnLtiHdO34qI6xyCmgBwEe
  3. Rylai will remember that.
  4. Saw this post on reddit and thought I would cross-post it here for discussion. More here: http://goldenhearted.deviantart.com/gallery/42545594/Dota2-VN-mockup Original post: http://www.reddit.com/r/visualnovels/comments/2cl61o/dota_2_vn_mockup_using_garrys_mod_for_vn_making/ " Using Garry's mod to make VNs would mean that the Characters can get a greater scope of animation and not be static the whole time in a VN. This may help with immersion to have characters actually doing the actions that the script have them do, or their expression actually changing in a meaningful way. Do you Think This is the way to go?" This might be one way to make VNs more popular in the west, making spin-offs of existing popular games for LOL, DOTA2, WOW, etc.
  5. It's not like I was refreshing the page every 5 minutes or anything... B... B... B... BAKA!
  6. Thanks again for your help! (the cat is out of the bag!)
  7. Wow. Impressive work! I wish I had your skills. Thanks for taking the time to re-translate those lines! Edit: Actually there were two additional lines that were not included in the screenshots but again my translation and yours is like night and day... I've also numbered them to give a sense of context: 3. 英知を持つを知らぬ者こそが、真の智者であることはすでに過去の智者が語るところである It is exactly because a person lacks wisdom that they can already speak about the true wisdom of the past. 5. 知るを知るとなし、知らざるを知らずとなす。これ知るなり To know is not to know, Not knowing not to know. Becomes knowing.
  8. I attempted to translate these sentences but I'm not sure they are 100% correct. If anyone else could suggest any improvements that would be helpful.
  9. How about tsundere only VN where all characters are super tsun tsun...
  10. Recently Telltale's final fifth chapter to The wolf among us was released: Cry Wolf although it was a bit shorter than I was hoping for. Also the walking dead season 2's fourth episode: Among the Ruins was also released.
  11. Welcome to the forums. Enjoy your stay
  12. Granted! You are the ruler of this world for the rest of your 150 year life. Unfortunately everybody else died due to a strange disease that you happen to be immune from. I wish to have the ability for unlimited time travel without any cooldown period.
  13. Thanks Vocaotome for your detailed advice. I did try the random click everything approach (it's my go to method lol) but in the end I figured out the ISO I was working with had the subs burnt into the video files. So there was no "text" to hook. I'll come back to it when I find other titles I want to translate.
  14. Anime tends to be the prime-time cut of the original manga. Most of the time you can get more of the story's details by reading the manga. eg. Attack on Titan. So if the story is really good you should look into the manga. One thing manga lacks however is music which can really help build atmosphere.
  15. Welcome Shimakaze! I'm also not a big fan of the horror genre. Enjoy your stay!
  16. Greetings friend. Welcome to fuwanovel!
  17. A long time ago I used to use this site for cooking Japanese stuff. The instructions are quite simple so pick something you like and try it. You can use google image search to find out something you don't know. http://209.197.93.31/recipe/japanese.html For something simple to start I would recommend Oyako don or Nikujaga.
  18. That's the reddit effect. Breaking the interwebs since 2005. There is a visual novel subreddit www.reddit.com/r/visualnovels I think it is a good way to spread popularity of visual novels. But it's still quite a niche at the moment. When more projects like Katawa Shoujo exist I think it will help to increase overall popularity. The language barrier for non translated VNs is probably one of the limiting factors. It's a bit of a catch 22 situation though, without popularity, there is little motivation for companies to spend resources localizing content and if they aren't being translated then they can't increase in popularity in the west. One counterpoint is that Visual Novels aren't the most popular thing in Japan either, so it probably is not just language but something that only appeals to certain people.
  19. Just finished listening to the first episode. I enjoyed getting to know a little more about both of you and hearing about the history of the site. My favorite quote would probably be "I fell in love with the culture... so I bought a rice cooker." (I would have thought rice cookers are pretty commonplace even in the US these days but anyway...) Another takeaway was, "Tay likes people who stand up to him... *number of troll posts increase*" LOL One tiny drawback was the feedback during the podcast, this could be resolved by everyone using headphones for the duration of the podcast. But I digress, it was a nice chat to listen to and if you need any tips on living in Japan just let me know and I'll be happy to help as much as I can. When I joined the forums I was also overwhelmed by the atmosphere of positiveness so you guys are doing something right. Keep up the good work!
  20. Hey vocaotome I tried but couldn't get it working... How do I enable the hook part?
