Jun hasn't wrote anything in Rewrite, it's mostly a Romeo's VN with Ryukishi07 and Tonokawa. (and it works better, imo)

Learning japanese takes a lot of times, instead of learning it I think you should, at least, do all the animes/books/vn/movies you've already planned to do in your original language or english, it might be a lot but it's worthwhile since we cannot (generally) do all the best things from many medias during our life. Based on the fact you will try to learn japanese on your own of course, it's more worth it if you do it in school or with a japanese friend eventually.

Umineko's OST is wonderful, thanks to Dai, -45 and ZTS. Mahoyo has really good tracks as well.

Ruka,Mayuri and Faris in Steins;Gate, the most hateful trio I've ever seen. I can't stand Sakura (FSN), Touka (Sharin No Kuni) and Tama (Muv-Luv Alternative) too.

Long,smooth hairstyle and ponytail are my favorites too. And never forget this "thing" :

Takeuchi's chara-design and Liar Soft's aside (maybe Steins;Gate, too), I haven't found a good-looking VN, not very important by me but if I have the choice I really prefer Rewrite or Grisaia artstyle, it's generic of course but it's not ugly either, unlike 07th Expansion's VN or Muv-Luv. However I don't think we can drop a VN because of its art, it's simple just to adapt to it.

I'm rather simple so I would say tsundere, but not always because there is a lot of differents ways to make a tsundere, I can't stand Touka from Sharin No Kuni while I'm a total fan of Lucia (Rewrite) and Aoko (Mahoyo). Otherwise I've a weak spot for excentrics characters like Usami (G-Senjou No Maou) or Sachi (Grisaia) I'm never tired of them.

Muv-Luv Extra without any hesitation, I prayed so much so that it end soon, despite the ingenious foreshadowing it's really horrible to read, no to mention that I had to familiarize with the chara-design at the same time. But, what with Rewrite guys ? I agree that Tonokawa's routes are kinda bad (they got qualities, still) but the rest is rather worth reading, far from being a "worst VN experience" at least... (Lucia's route in particular)

I don't remember any of Yuuji's typical traits, I think he was particulary dumb (as wahfuu said about the henchmens), there was not the slightest remnant of his humor nor any of these usual interesting thoughts . Basically he just kick and punch during the whole route while saying "it's all right" to Yumiko. In comparison I prefer Yuuji in Makina's route (who has some aspects in common with Yumiko's).

The biggest problem in Yumiko's route is Yuuji imo, he's quite out of character all along. Otherwise the route was rather good in retrospect.

Rewrite OP is great for sure and I agree for Grisaia too. btw I really like Mahoyo opening, quite different from the classic opening with a lot of sprites presenting the cast on a voiced japanese ost. However it's the only visual novel I've seen with such a style for the opening, so apart from that, Shikkoku No Sharnoth : Umineko No Naku Koro Ni: Ef - A Fairy Tale Of The Two : And Muv-Luv Alternative obviously :

Hi everyone ! About myself, I'm a visual-novel fan (and a lurker) from France and since January of this year I wasn't too much in otaku culture, I played mainly at videogames and read books. I was introduced to VNs thanks to Higurashi and its amazing french translation, since I was so much intrigued by the genre that I worked my english so I could do Umineko and I did a bunch of visual novels since. I really like this genre because it combines music and text (an audio-book to put it shortly, I was looking for that), that was quite the discovery for me haha. As for my tastes concerning them, the way I rate a visual novel is pretty random (despite the fact that I seem to rate very accurately with comma) given the fact my favorite changes everyday...unfailing logic here. If I were to quote two characters it would be Kazami Yuuji from Grisaia, simply the most hilarious and also interesting character from a videogame or anime imo, although it does not seem like it to me but I learned a bunch of things from him. The second would be Konohana Lucia from Rewrite, i'm a filthy 07th Expansion fanboy and I was totally busted by her quality, the quality of her route and her relationship with Kotarou, all of these aspects have definitely seduced me. And yes, about my favorites publishers, they are 07th Expansion and Type-Moon without thinking, I'm a real fan of these two, 07th Expansion for the amazing soundtrack (Umineko haha), the atmosphere totally different from the classic VN stories (avoiding all the clichés with the characters from Higurashi and Umineko, up to proposing a cast mainly composed by adults) and Type-Moon for the almighty Nasuverse of course. Finally I started to watch some animes recently, visuals novels are really close to animes after all and most of them are translated in english haha,it was time to put myself in it, I think. I hope I can get along well with everyone here !
