I have a small question, how long does each route lasts (from the shortest to the longest) ? Are they all longer than the common route ? Thanks !

G-Senjou no Maou- I write this with tears in my eyes.
Nerathim replied to Azrael494's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I really loved the ending too, in fact I don't know anyone who doesn't liked it, unlike a large number of VN and even if G-Senjou has a lot of flaws before Usami's route everything is really mastered at the end, truly bluffing. -
Visual novels that are not very Japanese
Nerathim replied to InvertMouse's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Umineko was very positively received and chara-design & names aside, it isn't much of a "japanese setting" there is a lot of occidental things and the game itself is based on popular mystery novels written by western authors such as Agatha Christie or S.S Van dine. As long as you make a good scenario the subject doesn't matter. -
I started Comyu this afternoon and I find it to be really good for the time being, it doesn't take much time to the story to begin and I really like the whole atmosphere and style, quite different from the usual VN. I'm also a huge fan of Kagome, a overpowered character with superiority complex and a good set of sarcastic lines, sounds good for what will come next.

Hot/Sexy/Gorgeous/Cute female and male in a VN
Nerathim replied to Tatsujin's topic in Visual Novel Talk
The most gorgeous character is clearly Aoko imo, she's so damn well designed that she could fit in any universe and stay cute. -
I like witty protagonists like Yuuji, Kenichi or Kotarou they're always fun and we never get tired of reading their thoughts, it's a really good point when the VN has some pacing problems. In addition he must have his own way of seeing things and his own way of reasoning in everyday life imo.

Hard choice but I would say the final battle of Lagann-hen, it's so exaggerated that it's amazingly good. Give me chills everytime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9N-BuufhyU

First of all, the fighting scenes are really better in Realta Nua because of the good use of differents CG in a really short period of time, fuwa has this version like Berilium said but it's not just the voices, it contains everything from RN with the exceptions of H-Scenes (they aren't in Realta Nua but they are in the fuwa patched version). To cut it short, go for Realta Nua. (FSN h-scenes are legendary, they sucks objectively but you MUST read them haha)
-
I skip them. I only listen to voices entirely when I redo a scene I liked.
-
Do they have something in common ? They're radically different as far as I can recall. -_-

In Clannad since one month~. I really have a hard time reading the school-life part, 6 routes done and I'm currently on Kotomi route, I quite like her character (remembering me a bit Mio from LB) but the pacing is really terrible in all routes to put it bluntly. How long does the After Story part last compared to the rest ?

twintails+eyepad+moe speech key knows his stuff haha

I though Melty Blood's opening would be more popular https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zldORaRtdMw

oh man, in that case I really, TRULY need a VN dubbed by you, I will preorder your customized version of Grisaia asap at any price, you made me dream for a second here.

No that's Urobuchi, with Ryukishi the characters are losing their minds. ? I don't understand what you mean. By character design, I refer to the "looks", if it's pretty or not. Good chara-design : (Very) Bad chara-design :
-
Not sure about it but apparently it's the fault of one of the translators who made a very approximate translation of the VN .
-
Not translated at all from what I've heard, the commie patch has been considered as a "failure" and they need to restart it all over again, because of several problems. About voices, there are none but it's not a flaw I think, Mahoyo made up for this with the best productions values of any visual novel (as good as MLA or even better), the style is really close to movies it left the impression to have been filmed by a camera.
-
You can try to save them with puush for example, directly from the VN, it works fine. Otherwise, you have this site (and a bunch of other) http://cgv.blicky.net/ , some CG sets are listed herein.
-
I'm playing Mahoyo as well, through the french translation and I agree with you, Aoko is a really good heroine, not the best imo but damn, looking at her chara-design it's undoubtedly the best I've ever seen in any VN or anime, she's really stylish, especially before the fifth magic. (Alice is amazing too)

Thank you for the welcome ! by the way Melanite, where does this image comes from ? the VN seems..interesting haha.
-
999 and Virtue's Last Reward on DS, of course.
-
Did you try Umineko ? Ryukishi has gained experience and it shows, except some pacing problems everything is better and the VN itself is really original (adult cast, a bunch of messages about the notion of reality, family relationships, the truth in all its forms, differents forms of love, the work of fiction...). The risk taking is admirable imo, being a bookworm myself it's the only VN who made me remember some products from this media, and even if you don't like Umineko, you will love the soundtrack, it's worth it in any case.

The french version of Higurashi is amazingly good, it was done alone by a professional translator directly from the japanese script (like any good translation after all) during several years and he even released a boxed edition (here : http://www.amazon.fr/sanglot-cigales-~cycle-%C3%A9nigmes~/dp/2953723501/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1406065613&sr=1-1&keywords=le+sanglot+des+cigales http://www.amazon.fr/Le-sanglot-cigales-~cycle-r%C3%A9solutions~/dp/2953723528/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1350993513&sr=8-1 ). Easily one of the best translation ever, as good as Grisaia's, at the very least, it's unthinkable to compare it to MG's translation (if it's bad).
-
It may be true for some VN, Type-Moon in particular but I disagree with you overall, Grisaia is very well translated and we easily see the quality gap between Fujisaki and the writer of Yumiko's route for example (or others VN, to be blunt) , same goes for Umineko and Higurashi (the french version of Higurashi at least, the english translation seems to have a bad reputation) Ryukishi07's writing style is well preserved to the point I recognized his style in Rewrite although I didn't know he had a role in this VN.
