  1. Logged in today to a pleasant surprise: it's Aniki's birthday! Happy Birthday, Aniki!
  2. Tell Johannes he looks very sexy without that hat.
  3. I think a good example is shows that include cute girls doing mildly interesting things. Lucky Star, Yuyushiki, Yuru Yuri. But are you sure Death Note is a "popcorn" anime? It was pretty involved, and required attention to understand what was going on. Though somehow, I agree with you on Code Geass; to me, that show was just a constant stream of various entertaining shizzle happening. -_-
  4. I can imagine why . I doubt it would be worth however many minutes it takes for the developer to configure things on a controller, considering how few people like you there surely are. If you use controllers because you can set them comfortably on your lap, can't you do the same for keyboards?
  5. Tell Mikado to run on ahead to inform his sister of what the situation is, then go with Johannes.
  6. My procilivities when it comes to heroines is consistently proving inconsistent. After starting with Hanako's route in KS, I thought I'd be very much inclined toward such a distinct type of character, but with some experience, there doesn't seem to be any pattern (with the exception of lolis, of course -_-). Perhaps I just like a character with more than two dimensions, merely for the sake of being realistic. If anyone's ever played Analogue: A Hate Story, I think Hyun-ae is a good example (<-- avatar); she can be serious, cheerful, sad, tsun, dere, et cetera. I simply don't want a character who fits into one label.
  7. "My name is Kamakura Makoto. Pleased to meet you. Do you need that hat? I have underwear to trade."
  8. Welcome! If you don't read VNs with adult content, I recommend Analogue: A Hate Story. But I'm not a sign or anything, so you don't have to listen. -_-
  9. Sneak around the ships' vicinity to gain some tactical intel. You can never trust those white-skinned gaijin.

    August 2014 MotM!

    Bravo!
  11. Huh, it looks like I'm in the minority. I almost always use auto mode if the game has specific enough settings to match my reading speed (multiplier by amount of letters in each line, minimum time to pause after the line is finished, etc.). Some games apparently don't cater to those few who use auto mode consistently and therefore have bad settings, like Grisaia no Kajitsu that can go to the next line even when the voice isn't finished. I guess I play VNs primarily when I'm lazy, because I don't feel like moving my finger to press a key or the left mouse click.
  12. I, too, have an inexplicable attraction to statistics, no matter how impractical, so I concur. Another IPB forum I use has a button that shows plenty of such statistics, so I assume that it wouldn't be too difficult.
  13. I haven't heard good things about it, so I don't think I'd be willing to sully my love for Dragon Ball Z. So I haven't seen the movie in either version. I might get around to it anyway, though. And I agree with the English dub part. When I first heard the Japanese voices many years ago, I thought that it was crazy and stupid to give Goku such a voice actor. But having been exposed to and studied Japanese for such a long time... his voice is still crazy and stupid. -_-
  14. Oh dear. Thank you for introducing me to that... I think.
  15. Hi. I like your glowy avatar.
  16. I started it somewhat recently, and it's okay thus far, in my opinion. Being relatively new, it meets at least the minimum expectations; the BGM, voices, art, pretty interfaces, etc are all good. The English translation is also quirk-free. The story has your typical VN elements, yet you can't call it cliche. In summary, it's of good quality overall. I don't have much knowledge about the VNs on your backlog, though, so I can't determine your decision on that.
  17. I'm sorry if I disagree with others' interpretations of gender distinction, but the fact that the characters are pigeons sort of negates any fear that it's an otome to me. And even so, it's clearly more focused upon comedy than anything else, so that shouldn't be much of an issue unless you desire emotional attachment to pigeons. As the main post states: Indeed, it's almost like killing two birds with one stone. hehheheh
  18. This one is by far my favorite. Also excellent is Samurai Quest.
  19. I joined the forums for a translation project, so I was disregarding the actual quality of the forums in doing so. However, in my experience thus far, I've found the forums to be of overall good quality. All forums are going to attract trolls, so there's no need to fret about that. The ratio of good members to less-than-polite members is a favorable one, in comparison to forums I've frequented in the past. How many members is a desirable quantity is subjective. I like forums to be small enough that I recognize those who are about as active as I, but it should also be big enough that there's a constant stream of discussion to enjoy. Fuwa's current state generally accords with my predilections, so I don't mind if the balance shifts toward a little fewer or a little more members. But it seems that everybody likes the recent increase in activity, so that's great.
  20. Welcome! Have fun, but not too much fun.

    Hey

    Welcome to the forums!
  22. Thank you from me as well.
  23. There relatively isn't much room for variety in anime characters' appearances, which is why we have a whole rainbow of important characters' hair colors in anime. Let's just appreciate Kanra's features for being realistic. -_-
  24. Indeed. KEEP ON STOP PIRACY. STOP READ IRREGITIMATE MANGA.
