I don't like using them but that game was really frustrating and unfair, I like challenging games (i love demon and dark souls) but that one was too much and games with time limits are not my thing either.

The only vn that I can think of that doesn't have romance or even love is narcissu, it's too difficult to create a whole story that isn't based or doesn't rely on love even if it is by a little. Swan song too, it does have romance but it's not the main theme, i think any vn that focus on surviving (aka swan song) can have what you are looking for sadly i haven't played many of them.

I love the tittle of this game, hapinesu written in hiragana xD

like kurisu said, no base building or anything like that, just a pure old turn based rpg(and a very good one), to be honest I had the same problem with xcom so in the end I used cheats to beat it

Was there anything to read in those routes, besides eri's route too?It was a nukige vn with no plot.

What was real? Btw I never said i was looking for realism while reading this particular novel or any other in that matter, even when they aim for realism(like narcissu i guess) it's just a novel and calling it escapism is a bit harsh.

Her route(michiru's) Amane's route can happen but the way everything went was really not realistic If you go for the bear grylls scenario try to do some research at least http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1972_Andes_flight_disaster.

You are right with Grisia but it is weird because they went for realism in that particular part and it just didn't fit, again it was fun to read but it wasn't believable. Realism can be good, narcissu or Katawa shoujo are good examples but in general yeah I prefer some sci-fi theme or whatever you want to call the "no realism" thing into the novel.

Michiru's route was better imo but yeah Angelic Howl was fun to read not realistic at all but fun nevertheless.

Still playing cho dengeki stryker so far seems good a bit childish maybe..
