Japanese is a really difficult language to learn for us because of the writing like Rin said, the language itself is like any other one but for use the writing is so different and complex that the learning is rather difficult almost impossible at times, I'm having huge problems with the writing system myself, specially with kanji. In fact I already understand like 30% of the conversations in the vns I've read so far and I started learning japanese 3-4 month ago but when I have to read something I can understand maybe 1 or 2 words with luck Japanese is easier than english at least (I'm spanish speaking person) but like i said before the writing system is the hardest thing of this language and pretty much all asian languages. If you really like it do it even if you dont have the time just keep doing it at a very slow pace eventually you will learn it like any other thing, if for example you want to play the piano but you practice 1 hour a week you will learn in a very slow rate but you will learn it after a while, the key is to not give in and be persistent

Narcissu has by far the best soundtrack of any vn I've ever read and the songs are my fav of all time too, all the emotions and feelings are mixed in those songs, even the lyrics are just superb I've already said this, but narcissu 1st is a masterpiece, it's plain simple, just a few backgrounds but the way the story is told, the realism on the feelings and how the characters behave are more than real (I know this for experience) all this mixed with a superb sountrack and you got a masterpiece that is not longer that 2 hours of reading. Narcissu 2nd is good and all but it doesn't quite reach the first one.

Anime based on vn are always going to be bad no matter what, there is no way you can fit a whole vn plot (talking about this kind of vns that last 50-80hours) in 10-30 episodes of 20min each. The only time i watched a good anime that was based in a manga (not even a vn) was monster, and it wasn't a really long manga to begin with and it took 74 episodes to tell the whole story. The other problem is the anime is aimed towards a wider public so you need to tone it down no matter what thus destroying the plot itself in the process (like clannad,ef- , etc)

Reading a novel from another perspective other than the main character/s would be nice, something like the name of the wind one can only hope

The game was good but the ending was kinda meh and after a while the combat felt really repetitive specially in the last part. The music was one of the best things of the game along with the art style, still very good even by today graphics, claves was my fav character

you are prob right (never played that game) ace combat is more arcade than flight sim, i think it's wrong to call it a flight sim in the first place..even I did that mistake AC3 was really sci-fi in every aspect, all the planes weren't based on real planes while in the others AC they were.
