Zakamutt Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Littlewitch Romanesque has an all-ages version on Steam that looks fairly harmless and suitable for her age. There's no age restriction for it like HuniePop or Sakura Spirit so I presume there are no sexual situations/nudity. Let's just say you're wrong about this one. Soulless Watcher 1 Quote
Deep Blue Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 sakura sprit is not good for any age Littlewitch Romanesque, nope it's not for kids. kira kira looks interesting, again another "musical theme" vn that I've never read because it's not my style but its going to the list of possibles, and Paca Plus looks like it fits with what im looking for. I will try Gadget Trial but for myself, mechas+turn based combat? I'm in! Quote
CatSoul Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Let's just say you're wrong about this one. Is there something lewd in the Littlewitch Steam version that somehow slipped through their censors? Quote
Getsuya Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Suikogaiden Just as a note, Suikogaiden draws heavily from references to Suikoden 1 and 2 so it might be hard for someone who doesn't know anything about the series to just pick up and read. If she can play RPGs hook her up with Suikoden 2 and if she plays through that give her Suikogaiden. Quote
Zakamutt Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 kira kira looks interesting, again another "musical theme" vn that I've never read because it's not my style but its going to the list of possibles not recommended, has death and despair etc not kidding Is there something lewd in the Littlewitch Steam version that somehow slipped through their censors? They added hair to go over the tits on the various sexually suggestive pics. Which are in fact still sexually suggestive pics. It probably just went under the radar if it's not behind an age gate. Rabbit Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 little busters mmm maybe a route from clannad Clannad is the only one I can think of, and only parts of it, like maybe Fuukos route, common route and Nagisa's route, just not the final one. Though there may be some obscene jokes containing talk of porn magazines during common route with Sunohara if I recall correctly, it's been a while since I read it though. There aren't any other japanese ones on top of my mind, symphonic rain might work but it does have some dark parts, hints towards two people having sex and somewhat complex storyline. If you don't mind english produced one they would probably be the better choice tho they aren't usually as good, Ripples is an decent and very short one and maybe Always the Same Blue Sky, though I can't remember how the latter one went. Quote
Deep Blue Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 I will try my best to make her play an rpg but I doubt it I was thinking the fuko's route too but I don't know really, I don't think she will like it and yeah both of them tomoya and sunohara sometimes their humor is a bit too much. I don't mind if it is OELVNs so I will try ripples and blue sky (I want short vns too so I can read them fast and see if they are ok or not) Again thanks everyone for all the recommendations so far Quote
firecat Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 i would recommend looking at newer VN from VNDB, you could find a kid readable game in no time or tag 'educational'. Quote
Sovereign1612 Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 i would recommend looking at newer VN from VNDB, you could find a kid readable game in no time or tag 'educational'. dunno if kids would enjoy reading Vn's you're probably better off with something different for kids the best thing you could do is to buy a old super nintendo with mario/zelda and 2 controllers Quote
Bolverk Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Symphonic Rain Although a great vn, I don't think kids should read it. It gets really dark at times later into the story. Clannad perhaps, I think it should fit all the conditions. I can't say I remember too much of how serious the language is. Quote
Nagisa_Fawkes Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 VNs for kids, that's a hard one... other than Symphonic Rain... I can recall some all-ages ones but they're not kid's content, like "Ever 17" or "Steins;Gate". Actually, Steins;Gate might be too hard english for a child. Quote
Yuuko Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 VNs for kids hmmm. Something with lolis of course because kids are lolis right? Kids could learn a thing or two from loli VNs. Quote
Arrakis Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Ok this is kind of out of left field, but how about old school adventure games instead of visual novels. Games like The Secret of Monkey Island, Sam & Max, Discworld or the Neverhood. Most adventure games like visual novels are about story-telling over gameplay. I kind of feel like seven years of age is too young to really enjoy/understand visual novels and they tend to have quite adult elements, which may not be appropriate. Quote

Unless you're trying to groom her. I know it's tempting because of the light atmosphere and comedy, but in this case it's probably prudent to "think of the children". Now if she were 12, that would be more in the strike zone. Quote
sanahtlig Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Cherry Tree High Comedy Club This is probably the best-suited Japanese VN I've seen so far. However, if the point is to learn English you want something with voices--and they have to be English voices. I'm not sure if ANY of the games recommended meet this condition. Obviously OELVNs and mainstream sorts of games (i.e., not VNs) are where you'd be most likely to find full English voices. Honestly, what you're probably looking for are picture books with audio recordings. I use to read / listen to those as a child. Quote

MercyZombie Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 (edited) kira kira looks interesting, again another "musical theme" vn that I've never read because it's not my style but its going to the list of possibles, and Paca Plus looks like it fits with what im looking for. I would not recommend KiraKira. While it starts off fairly lighthearted, it can get pretty dark at times. Especially Kiraris Route.(both her normal ending and the true one) It deals with fun stuff like poverty, depression, alcoholism, prostitution and suicide. Hell, the MC almost has a nervous/psychotic breakdown at one point. It is really good though, just probably not kid appropriate. While I haven't played the all-ages version I think all it does is remove/change the H-scenes. So a bit misleading really, calling it all-ages, but oh well.. Edited October 16, 2015 by MercyZombie Added the text that got lost in the migration. It was bugging me Quote
Diamon Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 I think Dengeki Stryker (the all age version on Steam) would be very good. It is lighthearted, very good on the action, a bit childish but that's exactly what you're seeking I'd say, and also it doesn't have too much heavy drama. I'd really recommend it, especially since it has this whole "superhero" theme that appeals to kids. Quote
Zalor Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Symphonic Rain My younger sister read both Symphonic Rain and Narcissu due to my recommendation, and she was 12 then. Clannad or Planetarian could also be good choices. FYI though, I started reading visual novels when I was 13 (so when I was still kind of a kid) and two of my earlier VNs were Princess Waltz and Yume Miru Kusuri. Yume Miru Kusuri in particular has a decent amount of sexual content, so yeah... Quote
edwd2 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 you're leading them to the dark side at such a young age... Quote
