starlessn1ght Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I'm thinking about doing this when LB!EX TL comes out... Have anyone else tried? How was it? Quote
Zalor Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 How the hell do you even do that? Do you read both VNs simultaneously on two different screens? Quote
Satsuki Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Didn't we have a thread like this somewhere...? And yes, I did it with D.C.III due to unable to choose which route I wanna go first. Quote
solidbatman Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I mean... why would you do that? Splitting your focus on any kind of reading isnt a great thing, especially when its poorly written VNs like Little Busters. Quote
starlessn1ght Posted June 23, 2015 Author Posted June 23, 2015 >don't like porn or h-scenes >wants to read LB EX I just said LB!EX because people might not know what LB!ME means. But the one I'm going to read is ME, not EX. I mean... why would you do that? Splitting your focus on any kind of reading isnt a great thing, especially when its poorly written VNs like Little Busters. Let's not discuss LB! here (LB! is a masterpiece, but I agree it has some fails. But it's still my favorite VN. Better than Rewrite, S;G and IMHHW). I like to read two VNs at the same time, and I saw some people saying they do that. Quote
Nosebleed Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 How do you read 2 routes at the same time? Do your eyeballs move independently like a chameleon? That's pretty legit Teeku As for LB! EX, it was alright, I'm always telling people to just play the regular one already and just play the extra routes later because they really don't add that much value lol. Quote
starlessn1ght Posted June 23, 2015 Author Posted June 23, 2015 unless you can split your focus between two screens evenly, and most likely look back and forth over and over again No no no no. You are misunderstanding me. When I say read two routes at the same time, I mean read a part of one, then read a part of other, read another part of one, then read another part of other, and so on. Not like simultaneously, literally at the same time. because they really don't add that much value lol. I've heard some people saying Saya's route was sadder than Refrain. Maybe you just think differently, but I wouldn't consider anything written by Maeda 'not adding much value' Quote

Maybe you just think differently, but I wouldn't consider anything written by Maeda 'not adding much value' Saya's route is the best out of the three (Though I personally like Sasasasasami more than Saya), but it still doesn't excuse stalling the entire visual novel for lol. Why can't you just play it whenever it gets translated? Read until the end of a scene, then jump to the other route, read until the end of a scene,....or at least that's what I did. That sounds like a huge pain. Even if I'm ambiguous towards a couple of heroines I'd just throw a coin. Quote
Satsuki Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Was it good? Only work until the end of common route (save at choices, go for this route's choice, then load back and go for the other one) It's really hard to focus on the story in heroine route. Quote

Eclipsed Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Its always good to read some Steins;Gate with side of Neko Para. Quote

Why can't you just play it whenever it gets translated? Kud's route changed a lot, as I've heard. And Kudwaf is an expansion of her route in EX/ME, so it's better to read her route just once then you can play Kudwaf. That sounds like a huge pain. Even if I'm ambiguous towards a couple of heroines I'd just throw a coin. I've done this with different VNs and I liked it. I just wonder how it feels with different routes. Quote
Nosebleed Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I wonder what would happen if I open Sakura Spirit, Sakura Angels and Sakura Fantasy at the same time... You can still play Kud Wafter without EX/ME, it's just a porn fandisc anyway. Quote

You can say that Wafter section is most an ecchi section, but After is more serious. Quote
Kosakyun Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I'll be supporting the 'read one first before the other' because I just don't think it's nice to split your focus between two routes. Other than that, I can't imagine why someone would do that. Quote

Kenshin_sama Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Well, if Keima can make it work, why not? Jokes aside, I do think it's possible if your mind is advanced enough to take in the atmosphere of two different stories, but I'm not sure there are many who are capable of that. Try it and see if you have that talent. > LB! is a masterpiece This thread is pure gold. I agree. These guys have great tastes. Quote
Nayleen Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Your title contradicts what you said in the thread, but eh... Not worth it. I also don't consider reading anything in parallel to be a good idea. Eclipsed and Loco15 2 Quote
ittaku Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I think it's a terrible idea. With a properly written VN the relationships with different characters take on a different meaning depending on whether they're your current route or not and to get the most out of any story you're better off just doing one route and getting properly involved with the one character. On the other hand, playing 1 route from one VN and another route from a totally different VN is perfectly fine in my experience. That works particularly well if you're in need of an H scene and one VN is miles away from the H scenes while the other one is in the thick of it. Quote
