A quick google returns nothing on the initial challenge.  I'm skeptical enough to call publicity stunt, and too lazy to search for any evidence of this being true.

 

Do I really care?  No, not really, if it does turn out, both companies get millions of dollars thrown at them, and I get a good show to watch.
