Ezeefreak Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I just finished two routes of Grisaia no Kajitsu. After i read here some thoughts about the VN i started with a "good" Route and choose Makina and followed that by a "bad" route with Michiru. But so i thought... Makina was REALLY(!) disappointing... This and the fact that i found Yuuji very uncongenial was almost a reason to drop the VN. But i put all my willpower together and tried the Michuru route. Maybe it's only my Opinion, but i think that was one of the best routes i read so far (though i don't really read so many VN's). So i'm now pleased and can continue with the other ones. But i still think Yuuji is not likeable and really an asshole . Am i the only one who think so? Boon 1 Quote
Zakamutt Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Yuuji is a nice and/or p. cool guy, heart's definitely in the right place all things considered. You need to read between the lines a bit to understand him. Quote
Ezeefreak Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I think i "read" between the lines an that is the problem for me . Also there are enough (unnecessary, for me) lines to read between. It's not that i think he's a bad guy or something. He do the right things but I (!) think the reasons he do that are not suited for me.Maybe it is more a general problem with me that i don't like people with that attitude Quote

So i'm now pleased and can continue with the other ones. Yay. More love for Michiru. <3 God knows she needs lots of love. Though I have to say, even I find that Amane's route is better than Michiru's. And as far as Yuuji is concerned, I think he's just badly written in Michiru's route, such that he came off like an asshole... even though it really has to do with his psychological problem. The fact that 'problem' got outright ignored in Michiru's route didn't help much either, since people would just assume he's acting like an insensitive asshole unless they've read the other routes. Currently, I'm just getting started with Makina's route atm. After this, I'll probably proceed with Sachi's route, then Sakaki's route last. Quote
Ezeefreak Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I will proceed with Sachi next. After that Yumiko and at last I will go for Amane. Also I played Makina ... .. and there was a lot of Yuuji's Background. SO i now about his past but i think he make no progress, although he is the most damaged of all , and thats what bothers me. Only in the Bad Ending of Michuru i felt he could be a human being and not a stupid military robot. Maybe i the next routes will reveal the True "human" Yuuji to me... I'm still hoping Quote
cryofrzd Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Too bad but you need to read the sequels to understand Yuuji. Quote
Berilium Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 You understand so much that you think "How is this guy even walking?" Quote

nik13pav Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Just finished Narcissu and now playing Lonely Yuri. Narcissu got me so much depressed... Quote
KurodaTsubasa Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Started playing Chaos;Head, but got stuck at closer to the end. For some reasons, I just can't force myself to finish it. As a result, I've decided to leave it for better time. Started playing Clannad and cleared all routes leaving Nagisa's route for the end, but guess what. I got stuck there too since I couldn't force myself to reread the general route which was repeated in some routes and I didn't want to skip it since I won't get full impressions from Nagisa's route. Status: left for better time. However, I have finished Tomoyo After: It's a Wonderful Life before Nagisa's route. In general, the plot wasn't too bad for a side story, but...that end. I can see why some people don't like it. Personally, I accepted the end as it is, and it didn't really touch me at first. Then next morning I read the manga that was based on this VN and, well, my tears were flowing at the end. This brings me to the current point. Since it was recommended by some people, I've decided to tackle the Muv-Luv Saga starting from Extra. Muv-Luv Extra - quite generic harem and comedy. I can see why people call it bad, but since I wasn't expecting to see any action and whatever Muv-Luv series were praised for, I enjoyed it to some extent. Muv-Luv Unlimited - this is where things start get interesting. After Extra, seeing familiar characters but in a totally different plot and setting gave me fresh impressions. Overall, I didn't really have any big complaints with this VN since I knew that Alternative is where real thing starts. As a story on its own, it was good enough for me. Muv-Luv Alternative - Just finished yesterday. It made me an official fanboy of Muv-Luv series for now. I didn't cry throughout the whole VN, but everything was damn good. I didn't regret spending time on reading all 3 VN's. After some thinking, I consider the Muv-Luv saga to be epic. Quote

KurodaTsubasa Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 That scene nobody expects. Indeed, I had to rewatch that scene second time to persuade the protagonist and myself that it wasn't his dream/imagination, lol. Considering to start playing Higurashi series. Quote

Considering to start playing Higurashi series. That was the exact thought I had when I saw that. Given the scene that follows it, I just assumed it was aftereffects of the drugs. Then a bit later they start talking about it, and I was like "wait, you mean that actually happened‽" Since I'm taking a break from Clannad, I was thinking of picking up either Fate/Stay Night or Umineko. Berilium Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 And the story keeps bringing that scene with flashabacks and you are like "Whyy u do diiis" Quote
SanadaShadow Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 THESE SPOILERS ARE PURE TORTURE MUST NOT CLICK UNTIL I FINSH MUV-LUV Quote
KurodaTsubasa Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 THESE SPOILERS ARE PURE TORTURE MUST NOT CLICK UNTIL I FINSH MUV-LUV Yeap, don't spoil the best part of Muv-Luv and experience it for yourself. Started playing first arc of Higurashi. What a shame that there is no voice patch for PC version. I guess I should be glad that we have PS2 sprites at least. Quote
Down Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Just read through the end of Umineko's 6th chapter. Holy shit. My head was boiling and I had a huge grin plastered on my face the whole time. It's really impressive how much everything makes sense in that story since chapter 5 and 6. Quote
Scars Unseen Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Still trying to decide between F/SN and Umineko myself. I was going to start F/SN last night, but I got annoyed that I can't go fullscreen without stretching the images horribly. I'm trying to figure out a solution to that now. Just changing the resolution doesn't work because my monitor stretches out the screen regardless of what aspect ratio I pick... Quote

Just changing the resolution doesn't work because my monitor stretches out the screen regardless of what aspect ratio I pick... The way I solved it on my laptop is I turned fullscreen on and used a keyboard function to change my resolution to what it normally is while the game was running, and it created a black border on the side but the game itself wasn't stretched anymore. I finished chapter 1 the other day and haven't touched it since. Between the scale of 1/100 how far it escalates? At least 110. Quote

The number of characters, the amount of levels on which battles are being fought, everything increases exponentially. Don't expect things to stay like they were in the first chapter, it'll be nothing like it. Quote
