Kaguya Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I've been playing VNs for some time (about 3-4 years), and I noticed I don't really know about how many VNs other people played, or even what they liked. So I thought I'd propose something like a game- You tell how many VNs have you played and than you make a list of your favorites- if you played 5 to 10 you make a top five, if it were 11-25 you make a top 10, 25-50 a top 15 (or 20 if you'd like) 50-100 a top 25, 100-200 a top 50 and if you playd more than that (which would make me surprised) a top 100. You can also tell why some VNs enter your favorites and tell what you think about some of them. The purpose is to deepen our understanding of other VN players and what they like. I think it will be nice ^^ If someone else already did something like this, sorry. When I searched for it I found nothing, but it wasn't exactly a deep search. Well, I'll begin. Anyways top 10 would be too troublesome to make, so I'll settle for this: 1st: G Senjou no Maou 2nd: Fate Stay Night 3rd: Sharin no Kuni 4th: Rewrite 5th and so on: Too many candidates, so it's arguable. garejei Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Yeah, I'll be lazy as well and just refer to my vndb list. The only games I rated as a 9/10 to are Muramasa, 999 and Gyakuten Saiban 3 (Trials and Tribulations). So I guess that's my top 3 for now. I'm sure it will change as I play more games. 999 I loved mostly because of its True End. It was clever, surprising and just blew me away. GS3 for similar reasons. I like Muramasa a lot because it took a promising central theme (to quote the game, 「武道とは何か？」 and 「正義の味方など、いない」) and explored it in insanely great detail through the protag's emotional development while giving it a dark twist here and there. And still being able to tie it into the whole "family" plotline with Hikaru which made for a highly emotional pre-epilogue finale. So for these reasons I could overlook the more draggy/boring bits here and there. Guess I can give a top 10 though. 1) MuvLuv Alternative 2) G-Senjou No Maou (True route only, ignoring side routes) 3) Rewrite 4) Sekien no Inganock 5) YU-NO 6) Chaos;Head 7) Sharin no Kuni Fate/Stay Night 9) Saya no Uta / Dra+Koi 10) Majikoi To explain here, the reason Little Busters isn't in this list is because I can't be purely objective about it. I'm just too biased for it. So it's kind of number 0, if that makes any sense. I'm kind of sad I limited myself to only 10 though, it looks like I don't like all that many VN's. Quote
