Tay Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Hey Everybody! I've missed Fuwanovel a lot over the last few weeks whilst tracking around in various deserts. It's great to be back. This topic represents an idea I had while on my trip: I thought to myself, "I wonder what song -- for me, personally -- perfectly encapsulates [enter VN name here]?" I came up with a few examples, and I wanted to start sharing them. I hope you'll join in, too. The game works like this: pick a VN, find the perfect song to encapsulate your experience with it (in my head I thought it would be cool to limit the songs to the game's soundtrack, but don't let that stop you if you have a better song), and throw it up on youtube for us to enjoy : ). I've included my first "VNs in a Song" below. It's for Katawa Shoujo. Of Course. : ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRLHEIf369oKatawa ShoujoMusic: "Three Stars" from the game's OST PS: Since it's personalized, there can be repeats for VNs! Also, if anyone needs help making a video, feel free to PM me. If you have Windows, you can use the super-simple Windows Movie Maker (free) to mash together an image (or images, if you want) and a song. It's fast and easy. Quote
Steve Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Welcome back Tay! I'll post the song I think represents Little Busters and anyone who finished will surely agree. Little Busters From OST, Name: A World Is Born And there is one song or I should say one MAD that for me represents LB so well. But ultra spoiler, only for those who finished LB Well actually hard to be only these 2 so ill post more. This one with spoilers and then there are ofc these http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqcIX0fzqec Quote

Ashadow700 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 I'm not sure if I think this song really captures the spirit of this game but whatever. When I think of Rewrite, I think of this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dB5IWPdh3Os Quote
solidbatman Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 I find this one piece more memorable than any other piece I've heard in VNs, except for the entire To the Moon OST. In terms of emotional impact, I actually put To the Moon on the same level as Clannad. It's simply amazing what that game manages to do in such little time. Quote
Snowtsuku Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 All SR songs, since you have to play them through out the game ;P Quote
Zakamutt Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 ^ I'd say The Other Side of the Sky is pretty telling, given the lyrics. Damn, SR lyrics were awesome. Quote

InvertMouse Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Yep, I loved To The Moon, too! Bought the game cheap on Steam, then loved it so much that I actually went out and bought a physical copy to show my support. As for VN in a song, I'll go with this one just because it's one of the first VN OPs I've ever seen B): "InvertMouse, have you even played the game?" "................ Nope ." Quote
jaxter0987 Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 I gave a quick explanation on why I picked this song in the video description. Quote
Eurobeatz Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 When I was playing Saya no Uta, a song called "Stop Your Self Control" was playing in my head the whole way through. It has absolutely nothing to do with Saya; it's a fast dance song from a car racing anime and the lyrics are all about sex. Eventually, I though of the song as relating to the game; "stopping one's self control" is kind of what Fuminori did when he decided to pursue a relationship with Saya in his warped world. Due to this, the song really represents Saya for me, and whenever I hear it I recall the fond memories I have of playing the game. Quote
