SilverLi Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 (edited) Alright, it is time. I am not procrastination this any longer and got way too much money on my hand and I want to spend it on something I like, figures. But I have never bought it before over the Internet. I have bought some in person on events but that is not the same as ordering something you haven't looked at yourself. So I want help from you guys or tips about how I should choose a figure from another. Seriously a lot of them look really good but it would be a waste spending several hundred dollars on something I am not happy with.So let's cut to the chase. I am willing to spend some money (up to ~30000 yen/240 dollars). I want two figures (or more if I find good ones) and I think that sum is good enough to get something with quality. So I am after a figure of Misaka Mikoto and Saber or Tohsaka Rin. I want a 1/7 or 1/8 figures (14 - 22 cm high). I am not that picky of which version of the Fate figures I choose. I am also interested in Ryugi Shiki (Kara no Kyoukai), Oregairu, Sengoku Rance and Fire Emblem.I am not interested in excessive ecchi figures this time. If it is sublte I could accept itIf you got suggestions of other figures I gladly accept itTips of how I should chose a figure?I know the quality of the plastic and painting are important, what I've read PVC is one of the better materials out there and you should try to pay attention to the painting (details) of the figure. Here are some links to SolarisJapan (where I mostly searched for figures this time) with way too many examples I like. I know of sites such as AmiAmi, Play-Asia and Mandarake too.Misaka MikotoSaber LilySaber Lily 2 - https://solarisjapan.com/products/fate-unlimited-codes-saber-lily-1-8-alterSaber Bride - https://solarisjapan.com/products/fate-extra-ccc-saber-bride-1-7-good-smile-company Tohsaka RinTohsaka RinSengoku Rance:Nanjou RanYamamoto IsorokuFire Emblem:LucinaCordelia - https://solarisjapan.com/products/fire-emblem-kakusei-tiamo-1-7-good-smile-company-max-factoryKara no Kyoukai - Shiki - https://solarisjapan.com/collections/figures/products/kara-no-kyoukai-ryougi-shiki-1-7-good-smile-companyOregairu:Yui - https://solarisjapan.com/products/yahari-ore-no-seishun-love-comedy-wa-machigatteiru-yuigahama-yui-1-8-kotobukiyaYukino - https://solarisjapan.com/products/yahari-ore-no-seishun-love-comedy-wa-machigatteiru-zoku-yukinoshita-yukino-1-8-kotobukiyaWhelp the list kept going and I could't link everything for some reason.Anyway, I think I am done here. If you got own suggestions, tips and whatever I may need. Please give me concrete examples if you think something is bad or if I am missing something in my examples. Mugi Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Just going to say that I recommend not buying from SolarisJapan unless you have to. They price gouge the shit out of most of their figures. Though they do have good shipping (albeit expensive) and good customer service. I recommend buying from people on MFC or buying from AmiAmi if you can. Quote

I am not planning to buy anything until I compare at least 5 different sites. That's how I am.Check out the video I did on my YouTube channel. Valmore Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Using Google's Yen-to-US Dollars converter, I'd say this stuff is all way overpriced. Quote

But I used it as a database which was easy to access. I am not that fond of myfiguredatabase at the moment. But I am of course going to compare prices on different sites. Quote

Their prices are almost always good. Or, like @Mugi said, try AmiAmi and MFC. AmiAmi if you don't mind preordering. Be careful about cancellations though. They might ban you from buying from them if you cancel orders unreasonably or if you do it too many times. As for MFC, just check if the user has enough feedback, if you truly want security. Otherwise, most vendors in MFC can be trusted, especially if they've been active members. You might also wanna check MFC's partners. SilverLi 1 Quote
