Jade Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Alright here's a thought, beside me are there anyone else that hate the concept of 'Main Heroine' in a story that have more than one Love Interests? As in, 'No matter what development happen and how perfect they are as a couple she won't win because she's not the main heroine' kind of plot. Purely an opinion of course but i really feel that it's kind of unfair that a Side Heroine who have better chemistry with the MC lose just because she's not the Main, and in the end of the story, the Main Heroine will end up with the MC simply because she's a Main Heroine. Quite honestly, i'm sick with this kind of plot and got dissapointed many time because of this IF the romance between the MC is well develop then i wouldn't have complain, but more often than not it's their status as Main Heroine that enable them to win. Clephas Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Charage tend to do this a lot... usually one heroine or two will get about twice as much effort and quality writing out of the writer than the others... it gets old really fast. Often, this is because the author simply likes a certain type of heroine, though. Quote

That or simply storyline/plot gimmicks; even for charage, it's often normal to have one or two main heroines, while the rest plays the role of side characters, demoted to serve as background or stepping stones for our protagonist to progress. john 'mr. customer' smith Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I'd rather have one great route and several bad ones than several just good ones, is all I can say on the matter. Quote
Jade Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 Eehhh, rather than specifically saying about VN, I'm more implying to Manga/Anime/LN that do not have a fixed concept as a route tough. Though honestly this 'Main Heroine' menace also often appear in VN Quote

Decay Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 On the contrary, I pretty much hate any harem anime where there isn't actually a central love interest that wins out. If you're not going to go anywhere with the romance, then don't include romantic tension in the first place. That's just frustrating. john 'mr. customer' smith 1 Quote

That's more of the Author keeping the Status Quo for prolonging the manga though IMO Most of the time central love interest is only used so that the story can have a proper ending, disregarding the development that had happen in the story. Of course the fact that I am really biased on this topic because i'm about some manga/anime ending clouded my view But as far as i know, there are only 2 manga out there that have a proper ending and somehow manage to flip out the expectation that Main Heroine =/= The girl MC ends up with. ShinRaikdou Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Feeling a same way. Hate OreImo, and harem with leading tsuntsun that you hate all the way, and nonetheless mc is ended with her(zero, toradora, etc.). Or DereDere if its VN adaptation, only because she has more space on cover or introduced first. Shuffle! and Mashiro-iro Symphony anime is quite surprising in that aspect. Quote

Tsuntsun Main Heroine is litteraly the worst agreed. The most vexing one is the Heroine who won just because of some childhood promise or something equally dumb. Quote
