I read that someone on twitter has recommended to ChuableSoft to make a deal with MG. Originally they considered partnership with SP. But people persuaded them clayming SP is the devil seed. Turns out, whining can make a difference.

Boy those people must feel really accomplished in life, spending hours on the internet fighting the evil forces of Sekai Project. I truly envy their position.

To tell the truth it's a not a particulary bad decision. If You Love Me, Then Say So! now has 92% TL and definitly will be out early next year. And we all know how slow is SP with their projects.

Lol, that clickbait title~ :illya:

Both sides on the extreme are fairly suspect - on one side, the typical SP hater I see is ignorant and usually misunderstands, and completely makes up/assumes things. The sort that will twist everything into something negative, somehow - even in the rare case it's not justifiable. It's like how people harped on SP for Grisaia (which I backed with heavy bag of $, so it's not like I have nothing to do with it), there's been so much utter ignorance and stupid on the net when it comes to why/how things are with those releases. Try to explain to these people that FW is jerking every company they work with around (like MG) and the person wlll be "nope, SP is just bad" with their hands over their ears~

And on the other side, you have the major defenders, that clearly have their lips wrapped around the proverbial c***, that will defend without any kind of middle-ground or consideration, for any criticism levied against SP. "SP can do no wrong" they mutter to themselves, while twitching slightly) :sachi: The sort that wear their bias on their sleeves and say "yup, I'm a shill". Kind of hard to take your opinion seriously when it's clear as day you have ulterior motives. (looking at you, shill - many may not see it - but I know what you are - wonder when that "that thing" will be announced? sure won't be a surprise to me.:makina:

I'm not talking about who you seem to think I am talking about. You didn't see me add a name, did you? So, not pointing any fingers :sachi: it's up to the readers imagination. They know who they are.

Uuuuh, something something, lots of snarky commentaries, keep it civil or the thread might be locked and in the worst case bans may happen and whatnot.

I don't think Sekai as a company is particularly scummy or particularly good. They're aight.

I do feel compelled to defend them most of the time, but largely because a bunch of people who shit on them give this air of being in a holy crusade for the sake of the good eroge population and that pisses me off to no end.

Almost as much as the "censorship, muh +18 content" and the "righteous piracy" crowd (who I firmly believe should burn to death. Slowly). But that's a topic for another day, so I won't mention it~

As a customer, I have a right to complain.

If "I will now obtain visual novels by other means" means what I think it means, you ... aren't a customer anymore?  I mean, you're free to put lines in the sand anywhere you want them - I have my own and I don't give companies money that are on the wrong sides of them - but if you solve your problem by pirating Denpasoft's games, then you are - by definition - not a customer of theirs.

To be honest each of the major three (SP, MG, and Jast) are all on my shit list on varying degrees, the only "company" that hasn't been actively or passively pissing me off would be Degica and that is probably because they are still very new to the biz. I only harp on SP, because I was a bit too naive and excited by their early kickstarters and placed three times as much cash on them as I would nowadays. However it isn't my fault, it is my horrible Korean genes that are influencing me to hold a petty grudge over money.

God, I really want to start something now to push this thread over the edge.

But seriously, is the thread really that bad? I have started allot bigger shit shows that lasted longer and were much more mean spirited than this and I was still unable to acquire the legendary treasure known as a warning point. (Sigh) One day it will be mine.

Apparently the outcry over Baldr Sky legitimately endangered Sekai Project's relationship with GIGA and legitimately had Sekai Project worried that GIGA would just call the entire project off.

Yeeesh, no one would have walked away a winner in that situation.

Is this just for Nekopara 2 or all titles?  Can hardcopies for their titles only be ordered online through Kickstarter now?

If it's a problem with their payment processor, I would automatically assume it's for all titles (but I'm very iffy on how these things work #ThingsBetterInThePen&PaperDays)

Nekopara had a particular issue with bestiality that wouldn't necessarily apply to all titles.

I mean, a forum thread is read by more people than those who post in it. There's some value in making the range of opinion displayed a bit broader, though a decent few people seem intent to only focus on the extremes when judging anything (rip).

Also, make no mistake - there's personal entertainment value for me in it too :P

Did denpasoft cancel the digital copies though? I may be asking a stupid question but, I know very little of how these sites work.

I'm assuming that their digital products are still ok considering I couldn't find any mention of issues on their twitter or news on their homepage.

I did buy Nekopara 1 CE so I was looking to also buy Nekpara 2 CE, which they originally told me I could do so on this site in the future. Of course I am not happy. I am ok with others opinions on the matter, but not when someone tells me to shut up and I have no right to state my opinion. All the other comments I am fine with as long as people do not personally attack each other. I would buy this from the circle's site if someone could tell me a good proxy to use.

SP being slow is another myth. Translation speed varies greatly from game to game, MG and SP are more or less equa all things considered. Some titles are translated very fast (Clannad, IYLMTSS), some very slow (DC III, Himawari, WEE). The slowpoke of VN loc. industry is definitely JAST USA.

Himawari wasn't translated slowly, lol - first of all it started as fan tl, second of all it's been fully translated for like a year. Scripting stuff / working with Front Wing has been the holdup. DCIII is p. valid though, Kouryuu being slow probably has to do with him working as a manager and (iirc) doing other tls on the side though lol - which might be the case for various SP translations as well! All in all though, I agree that the SP/MG speed comparison is misguided.

It still taking ages to get a release, in the end it's not different from a slow translation.
