There's a Cracked article about a trashy romance writer a while back, and he mentioned that Werewolf/puma/bear/etc... written porn exists because the laws explicitly ban bestiality and people get around that by using "technically transformed human". Kinda funny because Bear is a Canadian classic. I'm not familiar with US laws, but banning drawn animals seems even more retarded than drawn loli. We have to protect those poor fictional animals. Also arent there some US states where that is legal even with real animals Some guy on reddit made the point that monsters actually are animals, especially tentacle monsters who often are literally just big squids. Fiction vs. fictional fiction Giving birth to such discussions proves Subahibi really is a Kamige and the deepest of philosophical VNs Spoiler Btw animal comes from latin and refers to something having breath. Meaning humans are animals and therefore every porn involving humans is also Beastiality The ckeckest of mates. Honestly, I think they are less concerned about legal problems and more about triggered people destroying the companies "image" leading to removing the game from steam, people burning their HQ etc. Companies being scared of negative feedback is becoming more and more of an issue nowadays. Zalor Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Lol, goddamn the sex scenes in Suba Hibi. But I'm very happy to finally hear some news about the progress of this localization. I honestly was starting to think it would be a year or 2 before we would hear anything again. Personally though, I don't really like how they advertise the VN in the Kickstarter rough draft. But honestly, advertising and trying to explain Suba Hibi without going into spoilers is a really hard task. Quote

littleshogun Posted July 19, 2017 Author Posted July 19, 2017 Let's just hope that something will came up later in regard of Kickstarter delay, and most importantly hope that Subahibi would still had August release (Or September perhaps). Although if there's delay later, it can not be help I guess. Quote

Dark_blade64 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 So the game is going to be release on steam but only the first chapter? I assume the patch that is coming later are two separate patch, one that add the adult content back and one that add the rest of the chapters, if I'm not mistaken? Otherwise if I'm wrong, what is the point of releasing a half-done all-ages version? Quote

Obviously it's to sell their game on the by far most popular platform for PC games (Steam) with the least amount of cost and effort (only one "free" patch for anyone who bought the Steam "demo"). Otherwise you'd have to edit the whole game to be all-ages first which is a pretty difficult and time/money-consuming endeavor for the developer. Quote
Dergonu Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 They have updated the 18+ info page. They are still censoring the game slightly by removing the beastiality CG, but they are NOT removing any text from the scene, apparently, so the only thing missing will be the CG. Quote UPDATE 7/27: Our understanding of the removal of the scene in question was slightly incorrect. The CG depicting the scene has been removed, but no text from the game has been cut. Still sucks that they are censoring the game at all, but at least now the only thing we have to do is just look up the CG, and we're fine. The removed text was my biggest issue, as that's something I would have to go into the JP game to read, which would have been a lot of effort for such a small amount of lines. I'm still clinging to the hope that they'll just cave and add the CG back in, though I doubt they will. Dreamysyu 1 Quote
littleshogun Posted July 28, 2017 Author Posted July 28, 2017 Well, at least it should be easier to any people who could use the engine at TL Wiki and attach the removed image into the restoration patch instead of do some additional translation work, although I still don't know though whether Frontwing would change the engine or not though. Tamaki Sakura Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Better, although not perfect. I hope this info makes it into the VNTS post, for wider dissemination. Quote

What surprises me is that this is even allowed to do on steam. Quote

Dergonu Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 It's considered like, a free mod or something like that, which is okay. As long as the primary game itself doesn't violate the steam guidelines, they can add in pretty much anything in free DLC/ mods, lol. Since these aren't a part of the main game, and technically aren't "needed" to play the game, (even though they literally are in this case,) it's okay. Quote
littleshogun Posted August 1, 2017 Author Posted August 1, 2017 As for the Kickstarter, they finally announced the exact date and it'll be at August 2nd at 7 PM PT according to their tweet below. So just in case you want to back it, go ahead. https://mobile.twitter.com/FrontwingInt/status/892021875110330368 Zalor 1 Quote
littleshogun Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 (edited) The KS was ended, and as expected they funded although it didn't managed to reach the stretch goal though - the fund was gathered at 105,000 while the stretch goal was at 120,000. Anyway, right now Frontwing was already prepared the release date for Subahibi which is at 30th just as promised. So if you want to see of how great Subahibi was, have fun and hope you enjoy that. Silvz Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I've started reading Subahibi yesterday and was very excited to, but for me, the first part is taking too long. I'm now on the scene the girls have a sleepover, as soon as Takashima becomes Yuki's maid. Does it take too long for the story to really start? And is there anything relevant in this part for me to pay attention to? Quote

Just soldier through, by the end of Zakuro's route it becomes pretty damned interesting. I found that the Kagami and Tsukasa routes in Down the Rabbit Hole I to be pretty unnecessary, but its your call as to whether you should play them (they are pretty short). As for whether there is anything relevant to pay attention to, I'll let someone else answer... Nothing before the amusement park scene on Zakuro route did anything for me personally, but I've heard arguments that there's value to be found there. I will say that it's worth sitting through. Even in the event that you do not find Subahibi to be The Best Thing Ever(TM), it does a lot of things really well and stays consistently interesting. Silvz 1 Quote

As for that matter I would say that as soon as you finished Zakuro's route (Just chose the 2nd option when there's a choice to get Zakuro's route quickly) and play 'Down the Rabbit Hole 2', the real story was starting from when you came to the school after you kissed with Zakuro. Until then, just wait if you still at the beginning. As for relevant part, well I'll just leave it to you to find out by yourself because I wouldn't like to spoil someone here. Silvz 1 Quote
Dreamysyu Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 I'm reading It's My own invention, and, really, how messed up in your head you need to be to write something like SubaHibi? Though it's still pretty great so far. Spoiler Kimika is such a troll. Quote
Silvz Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 I'm also reading It's my own invention, but I think I took a side route instead, though I'm not sure. One thing that is bugging me is that all male characters except the protagonist are unvoiced. Is that intentional? I mean, there could be a reason for it in the story, and since Takuji's voice actor is a woman, there may be a reason behind the unvoicing. Quote

I guess the idea is that the player mainly cares about the female characters, and keeping the cast small saves money. Edited October 14, 2017 by Tamaki Sakura Silvz 1 Quote
