also im apparently in runa route, i dont like where this is going. IMO it is worse than sumika/meiya route in muv-luv extra and koko route in da capo 2.

Shift-JIS is not Unicode.  It's a different standard dating from 1997, when Unicode hadn't yet taken over.

Rather enjoying this game so far...can't decide which route to go with quite but but it seems it will likely be Maya, Yukino, or Pizza.

Finished it just now, took me 47 hours total. It's been a while that I enjoyed playing a VN that much, some minor issues aside.

Playing order: Midori>Yukino>Maya>Kyou>Runa

Route Rating: Midori/Maya>Kyou>Yukino>Runa

Girls: Midori/Yukino>Kyou>Maya>Runa

This does make it seem like I don't care about Runa at all, while it's true that I like her the least, playing her route did improve my opinion of her by a lot at the end. However, there's no character in the game that I hate. (except Kishi, maybe)

Some Common/Route specific complaints, maybe spoiler?

• Time skip in the middle of the route feels a bit out of place (all routes)
• Endings could've been longer and more fleshed out (all routes except Runa)
• Ending comes a bit abrupt/too early/feels cut off (Kyou & Maya route)
• Progress is hindered by how incompetent/dense the protagonist is (Yukino (near end) & Runa (first half) route)

 

Kinda sad I'm done now, as I had such a good time playing. Makes me wish it would've gotten a sequel.

why didnt they do it in the actual kiss part!?

and i think the force auto mode timing is depend on the default setting of the auto mode speed(?) (the song finish playing but it is still automode)

also too bad the translation didnt translate the songs... (i like the ending theme...)

they didnt also translated few parts of the game (the story of the yellowed eyed girl...)

wait! why am i wet, and i smell rotten? :thinking: maybe i need to get a bath....

Still can't play the game. When i try to launch the launcher i get shot at with pop-ups which i persume to be saying that files are missing.

cursor00, cursor01, cursor02, BGM list, thumbtable.dat, tcdata.tcr, CALENDAR, mw00_base, mw00_close, mw00_save, mw00_load, mw00_qs, mw00_ql, mw00_skip, mw00_auto, mw00_koe, mw00_conf, mw00_select, mw00_log, mw00_lock, icon_sakura.

Then when i finished going through that cycle like 5 times, i get a prompt to insert disc. If i do so then that's cool and i get shot at with new pop-ups.

Same story as before but now with some different japanese in front of it that i still cant read and logo. Then i get some screen that says it's a 18+ game and warnings and parental controll or whatnot (who even reads this stuff). Then i go through the cycle of before again, 5 times or so. Then i get into what i assume to be the main menu. When i hover over one of the buttons i get this:

 

So yeah i can't actually click on one of those buttons, hence i can't start the game. Well even if i could i think the save and load buttons are goners so i'd have to leave the game open at all times xD

@Zenophilious Didn't use a crack, already tried uninstalling and re-installing, english patch doesn't need applying? Or at least not as far as i'm aware of. Readme file says i just need to move the patch files and use the launcher.

Guess i'll go to the tech support page then.

What did you do that fixed it? I actually ran into exactly the same issues you posted about, when I was attempting to run the patch on the version of the game I bought off DMM (after I got through the MSVCRT errors).

Well i downloaded it and it came together with files for translation. Running the launcher in the files didn't work. Instead i downloaded the full patch from https://tsurezurescans.wordpress.com/2017/05/06/hatsukoi-11-progress-update-17-full-patch/

(so the file linked behind manual install) and followed the instructions of the readme in the folder once downloaded. Maybe the version that came with it wasn't up to date or something. I don't really know but it's fixed now so that's cool.

 

You can just retry downloading it, oh and if it prompts you to replace files because they already exist, just do so. I did, dunno if it was needed or not but it's working so whatever.

As far as I concerned, there's only 5 endings (One for each heroines).

Well, the line count for Runa's route was quite big. So yeah, it'll be long if one talk about Runa's route.

This VN is basically "first world problems"- the novel. Which is kind of nice, because it's a really mundane plot for a change. Just what I needed after 200 hours of Persona 5.

i noticed something

1) there are few choices that lock you in a route.... whatever you choice in the porn selection and to who you gonna ask if she is free

2) there is a hidden feature that plays h-scene background voice after the voice stops. (wow nukige)

3) it is me, or it has the same engine as Key's ?

EDIT: i aim to get pizza route but i end up with maya for some reason...... not following the walkthrough of course..

Picking the other choices literally changes 10 lines of text, so suck it up and click the choice box. You will surely survive that ordeal.
