I am so sorry, this forum is so dead about any technical help for VN extracts, or fan-translating, etc... some GitHubs now in reading-only mode (you can't post any issues, ask questions etc), and that's all very frustrating. I wonder if you still plan to work with Artemis engine. I don't know many things about how it works, just interested. Thanks it's not that difficult... Quote
Maannabian Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Hello everyone. I'm new to translation, the truth is I don't have much idea about programming. Any way, I want to translate the vn "Hitotsu Tobashi Renai", and when trying to read the .ks files (where the scripts are), the letters come out with garbled characters. I tried to extract the files (with GARbro) using "Karigurashi Renai" encryption but the letters are still illegible (Also, i try without encryotion) I tried using other tools like "KrkrExtract" but I got an error message. By the way, I also tried using Notepad++ and the result is the same. I changed the region of my PC to Japanese (unicode) but nothing changed. I've been thinking about this issue for several days but I can't figure it out. The most curious thing of all is that a Brazilian team has already partially translated this vn, so it's not impossible. (Also, I can read the patch they made perfectly) Honestly, I don't know if it's a question of the font, that is, I don't have it on my PC, or it's a question of decryption. Thank you in advance for your attention and sorry for the spelling, since English is not my language. Quote

GARbro won't extract the script into a readable format, for scripts dont use GARbro its for images/music. KiriKiriExtract will work, once you've successfully extracted the script with it you'll be able to edit it in notepad++ and it should be normal text. What error did you run into while using it? I've used it before and it worked fine, I can tell you the exact steps I did if you want or you can tell me what went wrong Edited November 11, 2024 by nekoconnect Quote

Lo he usado antes y funcionó bien. Puedo decirte los pasos exactos que seguí si quieres o puedes decirme qué salió mal. I would like, if it's not too much trouble, for you to show me the exact steps, because, as I said, I'm new to this and I don't understand it very well. Btw, thank you very much for responding. Quote

Btw, thank you very much for responding. No worries. Your data should all be in a .xp3 file, so it'll unpack images, music, sprites etc, as well as the script. - • On the GitHub page for krkrextract download ALL of the files, make sure you have everything, it won't work unless you have all 3 > KrkrExtract.Core.dll > KrkrExtract.Lite.exe > KrkrExtract.UI.Lite.dll • Copy and paste all of these into the same folder as your game folder. • Drag your game (the .exe for running your game) over and drop it onto the "KrKrExtract.Lite.exe" file. The game should then open and the krkrextract window will open alongside it. • In the krkrextract window that opens, you can drag and drop your data.xp3 file onto it, and it'll begin unpacking/decrypting it for you, once it finishes, you'll get a new folder where the new files are. Inside you'll find where the script files are, the .ks script file should now be openable and readable with notepad/notepad++ Quote
nekoconnect Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Also, if it works, you'll have to delete the original data .xp3 file so when you edit the new files it'll show up as your translated text when you open the game Quote

I get the errors that I will show you in the following image. https://ibb.co/nRVQfws (Also, the game doesn't start if I don't delete the KrkrEctract files from the game folder) I decided to reinstall the game in case it was an installation error, but I keep getting that error. Interestingly, in other games like "Girls in Glasses" and "Taimanin Asagi Premium Box" it worked perfectly and I was able to extract the files. I even decided to try another Asa Project game, which is "Renai 0 Kilometer" but, in that case, it only opened the game but KrkrExtract did not (or rather, it appeared in a fraction of a second and then disappeared, and then open the game) (I want to clarify that my PC already has the "Languages for non-unicode programs" option changed to Japanese) Again, thanks for responding and sorry for the inconvenience.
