MaggieROBOT Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 I really wanted a MC with a good male friend, one that he can always rely on. Romance between them is not needed, just friendship is fine, but it would be nice to have some other important male character beside the protagonist and maybe the main villain... I'm also accepting otomes where the heroes are good friends and not rivals. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! Quote

I heard that Ryo has a ending in No One But You. Togainu no Chi have Keisuke. I heard Little Busters have a lot of friendship. Clannad have a route for one of Tomoya's male friends. I also think Bacchikoi! have this bromance aspect to it, but, I still have to read that novel. Quote

MarcomiX Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 (edited) Kono oozora ni, Tsubasa wo Hirogete. I think the relationship between Aoi and An-chan is what you're searching for. Well, if you're searching for something about "male friendship", I think you should play the Midori's route of Hatsukoi 1\1. There's a nice plot twist towards the end of her route...won't say anything more to avoid spoilers. Edited October 29, 2017 by MarcomiX Dergonu and MaggieROBOT 2 Quote
MaggieROBOT Posted October 29, 2017 Author Posted October 29, 2017 So many bros!!!! I'll be busy for a while! Thanks everyone! Quote
r0xm2n Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Someone already mentioned An-chan (Tatsuya) in If My Heart Had Wings. He's definitely an older bro to the protagonist. Game also had Ma-bou, but he's just there for occasional comic relief... Grisaia No Meiyuu also had Daniel Bone (yes, that is his name), and a few other supporting male characters. But that game is the 2nd part of a trilogy.... Katawa Shoujo had a teacher, and the nurse, that were supportive (depending on the route). MaggieROBOT 1 Quote
NowItsAngeTime Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 I'm actually kinda sad how little bromance there is in VNs. That said, Little Busters and MajiKoi both have multiple bros which is nice. MaggieROBOT 1 Quote
HMN Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 (edited) I’d recommend Tokeijikake no Ley-Line which is expected to be out sometime in November, so you could keep an eye on that. Edited November 1, 2017 by HMN MaggieROBOT 1 Quote
littleshogun Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 As for the recommendation, I think Dies Irae could be qualify considering that we had Ren and Shiro there, although at the beginning they fought each other though - quite brutal at that. Other than that, no idea here. MaggieROBOT 1 Quote

Aaaand I was curious about MajiKoi for some time, and since you're the second person to recommend it I guess it's super worth to try it! Quote

TheCrimsonFucker Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 (edited) Didn't finish reading it yet but I think Edelweiss has a good amount a bros in it. It has a group of friends with some good friendly banter between them. Now that I think about that there aren't many games (at least amongst the ones I read) where the friends get the focus forr at least a little while. This and majikoi are the only ones that I can remember right now. Edited November 11, 2017 by TheCrimsonFucker MaggieROBOT 1 Quote

Surely, GB's "friendship" is in a whole different level, but if this is as funny as GB, then I'll add it in my list with very high priority. Quote

I liked the common route which focused on the gorup a lot and not just the protag. I don't think it can reach GB-s humor, because that is on a godly level, and I will be happy if I find something that can recreate that , but I still had fun with it. To me they just felt like believable friends. They mess around with or help each other out. As for the humor it's the usual unpopular group of guys do something stupid and perverted thing and suffer from it, or try to act cool and mess up. Quote
