Silvz Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 This is NOT the nazi swastika, so no problems here. You probably know that, but there is the buddhist symbol and many others that are similar but not identical. Quote

I'm just quite intrigued at the use, cause i've never pictured a shuriken to look like that, and i'm interested, was the TL made by Key or was it handled by a US/British/Canadian team? Quote

Oh, sorry to ruin the joke. Indeed, I'd not use that symbol to picture a shuriken either, but it may be easier to have it instead of a different image due to engine restrictions. Quote

Zakamutt Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Fruitbat isn't really associated with just one nationality as far as I know. The CEO lives in Finland afaik. I'm not sure who did the LB tl but I think dango is a Japanese native and I know he was working on the lb ex tl? Quote
Okarin Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Yes, I can picture a sauvastika-looking shuriken, for reference see the MTG's expansion "Betrayers of Kamigawa" symbol. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamigawa [on the right side] Hope it helps. Quote
Dergonu Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 I mean, I don't see the big deal. That symbol has meant a million things before the nazis used it as a hate symbol. You can find it in other types of recent Japanese fiction as well, for instance 卍解 (bankai) from Bleach. It's a legit kanji. 卍 (まんじ) Quote
