I'm just quite intrigued at the use, cause i've never pictured a shuriken to look like that, and i'm interested, was the TL made by Key or was it handled by a US/British/Canadian team?

Oh, sorry to ruin the joke. Indeed, I'd not use that symbol to picture a shuriken either, but it may be easier to have it instead of a different image due to engine restrictions.

Fruitbat isn't really associated with just one nationality as far as I know. The CEO lives in Finland afaik. I'm not sure who did the LB tl but I think dango is a Japanese native and I know he was working on the lb ex tl?

I mean, I don't see the big deal. That symbol has meant a million things before the nazis used it as a hate symbol.

You can find it in other types of recent Japanese fiction as well, for instance 卍解 (bankai) from Bleach. It's a legit kanji. 卍 (まんじ)
