Funyarinpa Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 Novectacle has released a page talking about their fan translation procedures. Link They're saying that they'll provide translation tools for The House In Fata Morgana to all who ask for them. Amazing stuff. Dreamysyu, Infernoplex, Plk_Lesiak and 1 other 4 Quote
VirginSmasher Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 Wow. This is actually pretty forward thinking on the part of Novectacle. Take all of the work out of their hands and you still get more of an audience by letting others translate into specific languages other than English. It's actually pretty smart of them. Now if only that fandisc could come out this year and I would be happy. Quote

Bokuten is a worse offender when it comes to being stuck in beta testing hell, but Higurashi is a notable example as well. Quote
Nandemonai Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 Color me impressed. Not only are they saying they approve of fan translations, but that they'll give you the game data so you can work on it? I've never heard of anything like this before. This is great. Quote
Dreamysyu Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 It's really nice to see when a Japanese developer is so open to the idea of their games being fan-translated. Reminds me of when Ryukishi named an organization in Umineko after the group that was translating it into English. On the other hand, both Novectacle and 07th Expansion are doujin circles, so things like that are much easier to do to them. Quote
Silvz Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 That's actually a good oportunity to start a Portuguese translation. Who's with me? MaggieROBOT 1 Quote
Silvz Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Just sent them an e-mail, but it was in English. Since their support page is in English, I hope they can read it, since I don't speak japanese :/ Quote

I don't know what to say in regard of Higurashi, since apparently they already finished Kai and yet they still not even released Tsumihoroboshi - it's just started the engine work according to Doddler. As for Bokuten, at least it have some vague excuse that namely Overdrive about to be closed up, and they probably being busy to prepare with paperwork (Maybe). Interesting move that Novectale was pretty supportive to fan translation effort, and at least it mean that they realized that they need more recognizion. Hope that someday we can see Fata Morgana translated to other language in the future. Quote
