I'm trying to repack this into a VN to make an english patch to this game, but I've never worked with this file format before. I'm only familiar with .xp3 file formats. Inside of each of these "root.pfs" files are the usual scenario/sound/system etc files.

This is what the files are labeled as.

"root.pfs" then it's nubmered "root.pfs.000-root.pfs.005"

If anyone knows how to repack this/convert this file type and could give me some help, it would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on which game the PFS files are for. I know of two types of PFS files, ones that are uncompressed, and ones that are compressed.

For example, the BL game Galtia uses Uncompressed PFS files, and the Otome game Norn9 uses compressed PFS files.

The engine is called "Artemis", and it's a really common modern engine that's easily portable between PC, Mac, Android, and iOS. A lot of Playstation Vita games make use of it, too. It's based off of LUA scripting and XML scenes.

You can just put the replace files at the same path in pfs from the game directory. The game will load the exist file before find it in the pfs.

Oh, really!

If the .pfs inside have folder "script", and in this folder .ast file, then you just create in game folder same "script" folder (among with "movie" and "savedata" folders), and put there .ast file.

The problem is, anyway, that the game is totally freezing when it starts to read this file, oops.

Just the example.

UPD. I am dumb, script doesn't let you paste "" in script, but can let you paste "'

Like, ""Oh no!"" is wrong. But "'Oh no!'" you can use, it will be shown in the game like 'Oh no!' as a phrase.

UPD2. Lifehack from English version of "Maid for Loving You" - you can use [[ before ". And ]] after " to finish the phrase.

So, [["Oh yes!"]] in game will looks like "Oh yes!"

Now it's interesting to find out how to add auto wrapping from Meikura (Maid for Loving You) to all other Artemis games, I can't find a file that corresponding for it.
