Noratoto - 18+ Restoration Project

Ah, sorry for not updating in a while. It's just that corona-chan did a number on us. In particular, the translator: He works at a hospital, so he's been busier than ever. Me too, as I've been trying to stockpile food and drugs.

Since I don't want to force anyone to work under these circumstances, we've agreed to pause the project for the time being, at least until this pandemic is over.

Just discovered the game and all the info on switched engines and such. Understandable to put the project on pause for the time being due to current pandemic but hopefully after it's over the project will come back strong.

i just found out about this project, i thought it was gonna fade away like others project born like this....but i was so happy to find i was wrong, your dedication and passion to keep going is awesome, but is actually better to stop temporally the project, for now is better to be safe from this pandemic. I just need to ask you guys..do you know where i can download Nora 1? Cause i can't find it anywhere, i mean the 18+ version.

The only versions available for now are either japanese 18+ or censored english ones. If you're interested in japanese 18+ version, then check out igg-games.com. Apparently there's some weird ass 18+ patch which doesn't add h-scenes whatsoever, so I doubt that this is what you're looking for.

We are most certainly alive, I'll give a short update: the translator is still busy in the hospital since the second wave of Corona is very much active. 

Regarding uncensoring, hscene insertion and removing of light rays: the current implementation is fully playable from start to finish. 17/20 Hscenes are currently inserted and we are investigating for the remaining three. These scenes are obviously untranslated now, however the original japanese text is still available.

Our hacker, Marcus is also creating a fourth category in the Extra menu for the Hscenes themselves. We have encountered bugs with this feature and are working on it.

One very important thing for last: the patch supports the current up-to-date version on STEAM.

The 20 Hscenes are all there, playable from the Memories menu. During regular gameplay, 17 of them appear in a character route while the other three isn't integrated at the moment.

Hey y'all. Been a while since the last update, huh? Sorry for the delay but our TLer has been super busy given his work, and now he's even caught COVID so I told him to take it easy. To make up for it, we're planning on releasing a beta patch which restores all H-scenes, but still untranslated. It should come out rather soon(ish), so stay tuned for it.

We also found something horrendous while debugging. As it turns out, Harukaze cut other stuff outside the H-scenes also. We still don't know the extend of it, and the hacker said it's gonna take a while, but we will restore these too.

Usage: Unzip the archive and copy the two folders and the files inside the folder you've installed Noratoto.

To uninstall the patch, just delete said files/folders or move them out to an outside folder.
The saves created at the original content should works while any save taken at the new content will be broken.

What is included now:
-20 Hscenes previously cut were integrated to the story, along with smaller text sections before and after them. 
These are all untranslated for the time being, however the original japanese text is still available
if you select the appropiate language setting."                
-CGs and character sprites are restored to their original forms. No white light rays and fog anymore!    
-The new CGs appear in the ILLUSTRATIONS menu as you encounter them in game.
-A brand new MEMORIES tab containing the Hscenes you've unlocked.

What is planned for future patches:
-Patricia Hscene scripts will get translated first, resulting in the second partial patch.
-The rest of the routes will come later, one character at a time.
-Restoring cut lines from the original, non-H script. Example: https://imgur.com/a/DjxsTmB

What is not planned to get fixed:                
-The backlog is broken for Hscenes and for the part of the script that was originally cut. 
It will start working again as the player returns to a part of the original script, including the jump functionality.

-It's recommended to set English as the main language and Japanese as the sub language.
If only English is set as the main language, then a few untranslated choices will have no captions.
-Remember to save occasionally, the game is poorly optimized and tends to be unstable.
-If you find a reproducible bug, you can post it here in this topic. Please attach a savefile so we can take a look at it.

Nice work. It may be a dumb question but could you do the same restauration patch for the sequel?

Obviously we have been discussing the possibility for Noratoto2. I personally want it to get done, but since it has 9 character routes, it's an even bigger challenge to tackle than the first game.
For now all of the focus is on the first title. If we commit to working on the followup too, we will announce it here.

Depends on the translators' motivation mostly. It has been talked about, but there's no guarantee it'll happen.

Sounds like you do a lot for these games. Do you have a resume of games you worked on? if so, what did you work on?

Eeh, there aren't really that many, and also, my involvement isn't always on the same level for every project. And finally, there are also some stuff I worked on that will never see the light of day, so yeah...

Anyway, to answer your question... As far as fanTL projects go (of those that got released), I was involved with Miazora Fine Days. There's also a couple of others I was involved with that got released, but I prefer to go uncredited for those.

Also, I was involved with some failed projects, as well as some projects that are still ongoing. I also QCed a couple of VNs officially, so there's that. Not a very noteworthy resume, at least not yet. So I wouldn't say I am doing a lot for these games.

Does anyone have any resources that would help in learning how to make at the very least a cg restoration patch like was done for the first game?
I found a extract / repack tool that looks like the same engine as the second game, do I just need to get a copy of the full jp version and repack the assets from that one into the english / steam version?
