Majikoi Official Release December 25th

The release date for official release of Majikoi by JAST has been announced and it is tomorrow December 25th!

Those that have preordered the physical edition will get digital keys so that they can play on release while the physical shipment is being handled.

 

Unfortunately due to licensing issues the English release won't contain the full voice cast of the Japanese release, but the main characters are all still voiced. You can read more about this in this blog post:

But there are already rumors that the community is working to fan patch the missing voices into this release so maybe it won't be an issue for long.

oh for sure we'll see a patch from the community that'll bring back all the voices. thank yooooou fan patches because all the characters and acting in this is great!  

 

so excited for this game to get an official release even though ive read it already like 3-4 times but still a great game!

Well I only have the english version of the VN and not the japanese version so a patch would be nice

What about translation? Is it better or worse? Honorifics were kept intact as they should be? No westernized jokes and memes?

I QC'd this together with Infernoplex, casual_scrub and someone called Jack. It was an arduous, monumental task but we probably did well enough. Should you find some problems feel free to post screenshots in the #majikoi-discussion chat on the JAST Discord or here! (*´∀｀*)

At least we have consistent translation if anything else, so congratulation to JAST in regard of the release. Not that it'll change my mind that the release is redundant anyway, but if anything else at least it might allow Minato-soft to localized more of their VNs (Although their first priority would be Majikoi S which to say would be another redundant release if JAST ever license it, and don't forget the painful VA license negotiation as well).

PS - I know that at this year JAST did their best by released six new VNs (Including Flowers Automne and Kimikoi), although rather than short nukige title along with redundant release (A big one admittedly) I prefer to see either Revenger or GOLD news from them.
