Just curious about who might be the Childhood friend who made Asuka Cheerful.

Well a lot of stuffs happen with him, so it's normal that he did forget the promise.

Forgotten childhood promises are pretty standard in VN's tbh. Usually picked up again in the particular route. Here they just seemed to drop the ball on this stuff making it seem very pointless.
