Guest Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 So, earlier today, I was feeling a bit nostalgic, thinking of my old days aboard the Anime NFO Radio Team, and I thought: "hey, why don't I do my own radio?!?!" So, without further ado, I bring you Radio Nao~! I'll be streaming some of your favorite music on my channel ( http://www.twitch.tv/naomi955 ) in the highest quality--320 bit encode--as often as I'm online. Eventually, I'll use this thread to organize specific times for certain genres of music. But for now, it's a salmagundi of my favorite tasty musical masterpieces As for what I listen to and will stream: anime OSTs, VN OSTs, various JPop and JRock artists, and some occasional harder music. Hope to see you stop by. Mata ne~! Quote
Down Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Even audio-only streams seem to be too much for my crappy broadband =( Sure feels third-world country here, 200 meters away from France's biggest city --" Maybe some day when I get a better internet >_> Quote

Bokan Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Wahahaha, listening while typing this, thanks for filling my speakers with enjoyable music. :3 Quote
Nosebleed Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 This is a lovely idea Naomi, now i don't have to worry about what to listen to as often. My only issue is buffering but it hardly happens to me. Is there any particular site that's dedicated to streaming audio only though? Quote
Arturia Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Hmm busy trying, "Trying" xD....I can hear it but it cuts in and out, Probably due to lag or something xD. Quote
Guest Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Wahahaha, listening while typing this, thanks for filling my speakers with enjoyable music. :3 Absolutely~! You're exactly the kind of person I'm happy to do this for~! This is a lovely idea Naomi, now i don't have to worry about what to listen to as often. My only issue is buffering but it hardly happens to me. Is there any particular site that's dedicated to streaming audio only though? There is plenty actually. Here's an old favorite of mine: http://www.animenfo.com/radio/ (Thought they have a tendency to be frustrating when trolls pick the most annoying music to piss others off, like all the radio stations where users can pick music) @Arturia: That's your internet connection then. On my end, my stream has a green light saying that it's going through at 100% perfect quality. Quote
Arturia Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Haha I knew it xD... Ah well I will listen as best I can good work with it Nao Quote
Bokan Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Hey hey, out of curiousity, but how often do you plan to have the radio up? Just so I know when to tune in and such. Quote
Nosebleed Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Naomi will be up 24/7 streaming music because she loves the community. Your sacrifice won't be in vain Naomi~ Quote
Guest Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Hmm, typically--on weekdays: 3-10 PM EST or so. (I have school) Weekends: Just depends on my work schedule. I'll post here everytime I'm doing to do it, and delete my older post--to avoid double-posts and whatnot. Quote
Arturia Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 UGH I hate my Internet..I wonder if past midnight it will go faster Quote
Nosebleed Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Is there any chance that this radio of yours might have a request system for users to ask for songs beforehand? It'd be nice to have everyone contribute for more music Quote

Nosebleed Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 And as far as genres. Anything goes? (No this is not an attempt at trying to ask for some ridiculous song) Quote
Nayleen Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 You could also go to audio-only streaming like those sites do, might get more users with low bandwidth to listen to it. Quote
Guest Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 And as far as genres. Anything goes? (No this is not an attempt at trying to ask for some ridiculous song) No Country, and no Rap. That is all You could also go to audio-only streaming like those sites do, might get more users with low bandwidth to listen to it. I have the video set at "No Source", which is the best I can do. It's not encoding any video, which is the same thing really. Quote
Sioxz Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 There is a lot off server software for audio streaming that works very well on a Raspberry pi if you want to host your own dedicated server for a cheap price. and no rap what? whats wrong with rap? (i am thinking off the Swedish rap which haves good lyrics with a meaning) Quote
Guest Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I just set it up differently, so it takes 200kb/s to encode it instead of 1.5k kb/s. So those of you with low banwidths can now listen to my crystal clear music with no difficulty now~! Quote
SieghartXx Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 This is perfect to add more new songs to my playlist *A* excellent idea, and thank you! Quote
nohman Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Radio Nao Nao http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t63_HRwdAgk Quote
Guest Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Radio Nao Nao *Likes* Oh so tempted to change my Radio's name just because of that Quote
Katatsumuri Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 This is a great Idea. Finally I can have something to listen to when I don't feel like deciding anything. The only problem is that the stream only shows a black screen... There should be a cheery (or something) image or something. Quote

The only problem is that the stream only shows a black screen... There should be a cheery (or something) image or something. That would probably increase the bandwidth used Quote
