Zakamutt Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 (edited) Just a bit of a worry here: are the Fuwanovel torrents being poisoned a bit much by corrupted seeds? I'm saying this because I've had problems multiple times, first of all with a patch file for grisaia not being delivered (solved by getting it manually, torrent recheck did NOT help here,) and secondly with LB, which had a corrupted graphic file - reallive reported "wrong filesize", iirc (and my procedure is to stop seeding, then copy over the entire folder to a different location). I had to re-check, then replace my g00 folder with the correct download. This might all be fixed by the decision to move to archives with new torrents, but for old torrents it might still be a potential cause of some user support headaches. Client is deluge 1.3.5, bit old and that might ~potentially~be it, but seems unlikely Edited December 7, 2013 by Zakamutt Quote
Kaguya Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Re-downloaded little busters yesterday for a replay- works fine to me. I didn't have a problem with grisaia either, so it might be just you. Quote
Kendjin Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I was under the impression that you couldn't really corrupt seed due to it checking against the torrent file? Quote
Zakamutt Posted December 8, 2013 Author Posted December 8, 2013 Seems like Deluge doesn't automatically re-check the torrents once they are complete, could be one reason for all of this. Guess it might just be a statistical outlier, then, oh well. Some people on the nets are claiming large torrent downloads will often be corrupted to some extent; no idea what causes this, though. Ruri Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Torrents have a checksum already included, and your client should drop parts and redownload them if they don't fit the checksum. So most problems with downloaderrors are on the downloaders side and not on the other side. Unless the creator of the torrent screwed up... Quote
