Media upload

So I have this issue about posting images.

 

I have literally thousands to share but I can't seem to find a way to post them on the forum.

 

I click on "my media" but i can't do anything from there.

 

Maybe I missed something at some point.

The extentions i know work are .JPG .PNG and .GIF

You also need to upload the image to somewhere. Try puush or imgur, both work.

It needs to be uploaded on an image sharing website like imgur.com

Then you use that URL and paste it on that box i showed.

I made a thorough and awesome explanation on how imgur works. I hope it helps.

There is specific software for this kind of quick image uploading like Lightshot (The one i use) Puush Gyazo etc.

This thread actually made me wonder the "My media" function supposedly allows you to use previously uploaded attachments without needing to upload them again but I have no clue how to attach things

When i go to "Manage Attachments" on my settings there literally isn't any option to do anything. I'd like an explanation on how this works .

Uhm.. I don't know about that because of NSFW stuff. Sure most users have common sense but it's still a risk. The forum rules state "No Pornography of any kind" hosted on the forums.

I was just wondering how to actually use the attachments setting though. If it's there it should be useable.

Generally only moderators and Admins are given upload access to the forums.  That's why those media functions don't work for you.  

 

That decision came ~a year ago when either Aaeru and I or Ryoji and I were worried about blanket upload permissions.  While I know it's a pain to have to host images off-site, it's meant as a preventative measure.

Oh i don't have an issue with using hosting sites and understand the concerns too.

But if it's like that then it might be easier to just remove this feature or make it "invisible" for other users besides mods and admins since we can't use it any way. At least we don't have to wonder what to do with it this way. Just a random thought though if you don't take it it'll still be the same.

Use the media code

[ media] video url [ /media]

with no spaces

 

I know it works with youtube. I never tried with other video sites.
