Does anyone know any VNs with dark tones?

I mean I want something you know... Dark? Like uh, bad things happen I guess you know murder, death, something like that. If anyone has anything really I'll take it. I don't know if this is specific enough to pass by the laws but all I ask for is something dark. I've looked and looked though nothing exists apparently.

Not really specific... there are plenty of VNs with murder in them, but you should specify precisely what you want.  Do you want battles?  Do you want mystery?  Do you want horror?

Dark-wise I do know of some Eroge with dark themes, but idk if you're looking for eroge.

Are you asking for psychologically dark? Like themes of sexual assault, suicide, depression, etc. or are you talking where the MC is a murderer or just where murder happens in general, are you looking for super-power type stuff or more grounded? "Dark" is way too broad a term to recommend much easily. If you're just looking for murder / violence there's an absolute ton of VNs out there that include that, so I'd recommend at least narrowing down to whether you want supernatural / power elements to it.

 

But out of my recent-ish reads what comes to mind quickly are:

 

Biniku no Kaori https://vndb.org/v470 - mystery / nukige hybrid with some dark / creepy tones to it, all the bad ends get pretty dark, darker as you go through it.

Tenshi no Inai 12-gatsu https://vndb.org/v21 - The MC is an edgelord to the max, includes dark topics such as

rape, suicide, depression, bullying, self-harm, and infidelity

Yes, it has a true ending, and I'd say the true ending is happy, and there's a few endings that I'd argue are neutral. If you pick it up I'd recommend using a guide for sure though, cause you won't get all the endings otherwise, and I don't think I would've hit the true ending without a guide, at least not for a long time.

Well, if you're looking for some VN with some depressing contents, then perhaps you can try Fata Morgana if you still didn't play it yet. Other than that, perhaps you can try Tsui no Sora Remake, Dead End Aegis, or Gore Screaming Show, although note that those three VNs have disturbing contents if that's bother you. I don't know if you're already play those or not, but regardless I hope my recommendations will be helpful to you.

It's not the best VN if we look at the overall rating, but It is quite interesting. If you're looking for a "sickening dark psychological" story and atmosphere, then give it a shot.

Don't raise your expectations though.

Fata Morgana is my favorite VN :3

 

Tsui No Sora is brilliant, daddy sca-ji never disappoints. As for gore screaming show, it was very disappointing.

 

Now Dead End Aegis has been on my mind, I will read it soon.
