BookwormOtaku Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I admit I haven't played this game, but I've heard mostly good things about it (though a guy at Siliconera seemed to hate it completely). What kept me from picking it up was I didn't want to buy a game that looked like it would never be completely localized. That looks like it's about to change thanks to this kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sekaiproject/world-end-economica-complete?ref=discovery Quote
Nosebleed Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 If they finally localize the whole thing then I'll give it a try. I'm like you and didn't want to start something that I couldn't finish. Hopefully their kickstarter gets funded Quote
appido Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I donated. I don't plan on playing until they're all finished but I want to support the westernization of VN's as much as I can. Quote
Ashadow700 Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 F yes! I've been looking forward to this. Episode 1 of World End Economica ended one one of the worst cliffhangers I've ever seen in VNs. I reeeeeaaally hope this kickstarter will be a success. ...although considering they've already got 50% of their founding down after just one day, I don't think there's any way this kickstarter is not going to be a sucess Quote
Zakamutt Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Backed~ I liked the first ep enough for this it be a pretty worthwhile investment. It's interesting to see them able to raise so much cash this quickly, though with the "digital signature" thing I think a decent amount of people might lower their pledges. Also they called 20 dollars tier "early bird" but they didn't limit the amount of backers for it. weird. Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted June 10, 2014 Author Posted June 10, 2014 They're at 12.75 out of 22 grand as I type Quote
Pentinor Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Le backed....hopefully this helps convince publishers to westernize some better titles. Also.... $23,400 pledged of $22,000 goal 28 days to go Woo Quote
Narcosis Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 I'm very pleased they made it so fast and it trully shows the interest when a capable bunch of people is able to bring good titles to the western players. It's a specific novel, that propably won't get into everyone's tastes but nevertheless, something definately worth taking a look at. Quote
Darklord Rooke Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Less than 30 hours to go before the kickstarter ends. Sekai ran out of stretch goals a few days ago and haven’t been able to think up more, so reaching $100,000 is unlikely. It’s a shame, but $85,000 is a solid total with which much can be done. Quote
Ashadow700 Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 So... thought that struck me; with the exception of the Mega Tokyo VN, has there ever been a visual novel kickstarter that has been this successful? I cannot think of any... Edit: You know what? Never mind, I just remembered Starfighter. Quote
Narcosis Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 It just shows there's a huge market for story-driven doujin games, be it jrpg's, simulations or visual novels; Carpe Fulgur is a good example of that as well. Ero content aside, there's a whole lot to reach out for. I only hope SP remains as perceptive. Darklord Rooke 1 Quote
Darklord Rooke Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Kickstarter over and approximately $97,000 raised, an awesome result. Hopefully this is only the beginning for SP, and they go on to many bigger and better things etc etc. Quote
