Hey Fuwa! I noticed we had a doujin thread, but not an actual hentai based one. So, does anyone here watch this genre  of anime? Have opinions on it?

 

Me: I do on occasion, but not everyday or even every week. It really depends on my mood tbh.

Not really. The only good hentai I've ever seen is the anime version of Sono Hanabira - I love how even the art is the same as in the visual novel.

I've heard that Sono Hanabira is actually really good.. y'know, for hentai standards. It has a fanbase it seems.

Hentai anime is just low quality most of the time. Sono Hana was the only hentai anime I kind of enjoyed.

On the other hand hentai manga is much more refreshing and all the possible things you are into are most likely in manga version.

I do agree manga versions of hentai are more refreshing because they contain match-ups of characters you enjoy not seen in an anime version.

Um I've watched hentai yes but I have not read any manga based hentai.

Hentai is usually very poor in terms of development and an actual story. I mean their purpose is for people to get off so they lack a genuine story. I don't think I've watched a Hentai where at the end of it I said "I'll watch this again" or " This was great". Most just leave me disappointed.

As for the topic, not in anime because it's kinda rare and I hate the japanese voice acting, although I have some in my watchlist "for culture" (cream lemon, bible black...)

In manga, yes, but usually no parody. Some anime are just intentionally made to be used by Comiket artists or at least some characters/elements have, in those case sometimes I have a look, but it's rare.

I've seen about three (yeah, I'm a hentai scrub) and only one keeps me coming back. I like anime girls who are colored blue (not saying ones that aren't blue are not cute), so I like seeing it I guess lol.

I've read a few h-doujins of vn characters (rewrite yay w) for *reasons* recently. At least my knowledge of the kana and the kanji for "exit" and "enter" are moderately helpful for untranslated stuff kekekekeke

That category, which AniDB calls "borderline hentai", is as close as I'll allow myself to get.

In that case, I can also recommend "Nozoki Ana" as pretty entertaining

I would say that I am not a fan of hentai in general due to the same reason I am not the biggest fan of h-scenes, however there are times I think a lot of us are always asking for more than what some fanservice gives, in which case I am perfectly okay with this.

Most of Hentai anime:

 - screaming like being flayed, roasted or butchered alive

 - soaking in female juices

 - soaking in male juices

 - ugly tentacles soaking more than anything else in the anime

 - censorship type more annoying than anything described above (that huge-pixel-based censorship, ewww)

 

There are still some quality hentai though. But mostly softcore (not ecchi, but softcore hentai). I recommend Koe de Oshigoto from softcore, although it's not too softcore. It will entertain you much more than those hardcore stuff everybody watch. And it's actually interesting. Although I'm normally into Yuri, I preferred it way over Shoujo Sect or Sono Hanabira (hardcore yuri hentai).

Yeah I watch it about 3 times a week. I find it pretty funny most of the time. Dirty laundry and Eroge! also Lover - in - Law are some of my most watched hentai. 

 

Now for manga I have read a bit not much, unless you count fakku I go on their quite a bit. The manga I have read are Seishun Pop and Velvet kiss among some other ones I forgot the names of. Btw Seishun pop was actually pretty good imo so it might be worth a read. Velvet kiss I enjoyed as well. They are more focused towards relationships between two people and has some story. Not really focused on the hentai but has it.

I swear dubbing hentai must be the greatest job on earth. I'm pretty sure everything is ad-lib so it would be like an entire career of Ghost Stories-like dubs.

Same here. I usually hate h-scenes since it's mostly obvious that they're there just to please 1 or 2 blue balled otakus. Specially if they're written by Nasu. They just drag the appeal of a VN down since most people think it's porn.

 

Although... Kara No Shoujo had a fantastic use of them since if you get to an h-scene you should load your previous save since you are probably going to be murdered in the next 3 minutes. The game's sex scenes are hidden game over screens.

 

I also didn't mention this but I find hentai utterly mysoginistic, at least 98% of the time it's based around rape, psychological torture and many other things... (Just thinking about Night Shift Nurses or Bible Black makes me shiver in the sense that it was suppossed to turn people on) The plot usually never justifies it so it's even worse.
