There you go. HuniePot has announced HunieCam Studio, a management sim. Not a VN. We no longer need to fuss over it, right?

 

...Right? I mean, they've brought back some characters from Huniepop, which I consider emotional blackmail, but I'm far less interested in this genre than I am in match-three and stuff. So move on.

Not a big fan of how this one looks, which is a shame given how much I anticipated and looked forward to the original one.

Probably no chance that's place holder art, given it's in the teaser and all.

I actually found HuniePop to be mildly entertaining. Obviously I played it with the uncensored patch. Not sure if you can really call it a VN though. The art style for their new project is just horrible though. Even if it had adult content unless they change that art style I have NO interest in it. Am I the only person who prefers a more anime generic art style for VNs?

yeah I found Huniepop kind of entertaining despite how simple it was in its mechanics. The matching worked fine...this one I'm not so sure about, not the kind of game I'd be interested in.

I dislike the concept of this game and the art is horrendous. I could care less what they may do to it but I also dislike the cam girl fan-service of the other characters from huniepop which destroys what little character was created for them. The game also looks way too mobile-ish and is simply not my thing (not overly fond of sim games outside of dating sims). I'm going to pass on this game hopefully their next game is more my thing. Interesting direction for them to go to though.

That steam greenlight page is just like what? Really going at it hard. And yeah, art is ugly. 

Players take control of a cam girl operation and try to make as much dirty, filthy internet money as possible. Recruit a variety of sexy ladies that have probably made some poor life choices... Abandon your morals and die of a coke overdose.

On the one hand, I had my doubts when Huniepop was announced, and that game ended up being pretty fun.

 

But this is just... I mean, the art took a huge step backwards, the gameplay looks like a freemium mobile port, and the concept somehow manages to be dumber than "A nymphomaniac love fairy breaks into your house and tells you how to get girls." Granted, it's still in its early stages, but this looks like a game I'll be passing on. Too bad, considering how much I enjoyed Huniepop.

Honestly it had catchy music and semi-interesting stereotypes with tolerable gameplay for a match 3 game. It was also relatively cheap and released at a good time and when kickstarter was kicking off. The amount of coverage it was getting for being so different also helped it. It was a very mediocre title but it got popular because of a number of different things partially because it was something a bit different and was trying to challenge a preset idea.

However, watching that I had a real shit time. The art is horrible, it looks like FarmVille with bewbs and there's absolutely no bestgirls from the first one (apart from Nikki but shush, and they even made her look crappy.)

 

If they bring a demo out, I'll still try it though.

I spent 10 dollars on you HuniePop, is this how you repay me?

Can't say I'm a fan of this without Audrey since she pretty much made the HuniePop experience, she even won the official best girl poll so I don't know why she isn't in this.

However, I don't want to be too much of a downer thus early on, I know these guys' specialty is making games and then add porn on top of it, which is what HuniePop was, and the artstyle, although drastically different, doesn't strike me as ugly, just more cartoonish (which can definitely take a toll on the porn aspect), so who knows, maybe it'll be a fun management game, provided it doesn't turn into a freemium type of game, in which case I shall lose all my respect for this studio.

I'll just cautiously follow this new project for now.

They did say there will be no microtransactions, ever. Let's just see if they keep up that promise. They also said there are like 20 girls in the game and only 8 or so were shown, so there's still room for best girl Audrey. Lillian already made my day though.

art is art and does not affect the story or gameplay of a game, If you played persona 3 or 4 than you probably know what it is like to care about blockheads <hell think about ff7> those it will certainly have an impact on the pornz, overall I personally prefer the old art style of the first game but that is very subjective, as for the gameplay well i never taught i would enjoy match 3 games as much as i enjoyed huniepop so maybe there is a chance for this to surprise me too tho... i want good pornz too

Still, shows they've had a bit of a divide in thought about it as opposed to an out-and-out "no". Good of them to do this really.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact we are familiar with the art from huniepop and to see the huniepop characters in a new form is just not sitting well with people because people don't like change and don't like seeing characters they liked in the previous game in this new one in less flattering ways. If all the characters were brand new people would not completely associate them with the huniepop art style.

Funny thing is this new artist was someone who was known for drawing a lot of "well received" fanart for Huniepop. Basically everybody was like "Yeah! this fanart is great!" and then she became the artist for the next game and it was like "You suck ass! This art sucks ass!"

 

 

I for one love the new art I think it's super cute. I liked the old art too.

 

 

Also I'm going back to play Huniepop again and I'm trying for too many achievements at once. Trying to sleep with 3 girls before upgrading any talents, to sleep with all the girls without talking to any of them, sleep with all the girls without buying them drinks, never fail a date, sleep with a girl by the end of day 4. I'm on Evening of day 4, gifts have not been kind to me. I'm pretty much playing each round 6-12+ times to try to win them because I need 700 points but only get like 1 per bubble popped >_> I'd just skip dates until night but then I wouldn't finish within 18 days.
