Mr Poltroon Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Well, I already know where all my birthday money will go this year. Here's hoping the kickstarter is successful. Stray Cat 1 Quote
suikashoujo Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 I really, REALLY want the hard copies more than anything else, but $200-300 for a collector's box set as the ONLY means of getting them? Looks like it'll be the disappointment of not getting the Steins;Gate LE times 3, for me. -_- Schnarf 1 Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 I'm a bit surprised that one of Grisaia's writers also worked on Draculius... though I probably shouldn't be, seeing how good that VN was, despite being relatively easy to read for beginners. I'm actually surprised you didn't know that seeing as both are on your top 50. I've actually been playing Draculius on and off (off because I don't really like Lian) and...I can see why that would be a surprise as the only thing the two have in common is you can kind of see Misao as a sort of proto-Michiru Quote

Looks like it'll be the disappointment of not getting the Steins;Gate LE times 3, for me. -_- They say that if there is enough demand they might make regular physical editions as well. 200$ is not that expensive for 3 VNs though, that's like 65 per VN! I bought Aiyoku no Eustia last week (haven't had it shipped yet though) and that cost more than that despite it being the regular edition and being on sale. 300$ may be kinda expensive, though that depends on what bonuses are included I guess. Fujimoto Takashi Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Hows this going to work? I went to the page and saw no kickstarter meter or whatever they are called... Its good news at least, even though I've never heard of the game before the trailers got me hooked. Quote
Down Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Â Hows this going to work? I went to the page and saw no kickstarter meter or whatever they are called... Prefundia is a sort of advance announcement to raise awareness. The actual kickstarter will start later (I think November was mentioned somewhere? But don't quote me on it) Quote
Famichip Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Yeah koestl had mentioned that the actual Kickstarter will start some time during November. Quote
Down Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 By the way according to herkz/Doddler/koestl on twitter, the page is already ridiculously popular. This might become big. Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 (I have no idea how the code for that copy and paste works. From prefundia:) Prefundia is a sort of advance announcement to raise awareness. The actual kickstarter will start later (I think November was mentioned somewhere? But don't quote me on it) Cheesy12 • 19 hours ago Do we have a date for the kickstarter? I tend to forget these things quickly; also you should let the game news outlets know in some way, there are tons of potential kickstartees(?) that just need the knowledge of this games existence(the kickstarter that is).  Sekai Project  Cheesy12 • 19 hours ago It will be in November. If you sign up to this page it'll send you a email when we have the campaign live on Kickstarter Quote
Tay Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Quite possibly a watershed moment. We've got a month or so to prepare the hype machine and arm the outreach program. Â It'll be done. Quote

sanahtlig Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Kickstarter for an eroge localization project? Â Count me in. Â I'm surprised Kickstarter is even on board with this. Quote
Stray Cat Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Very tempting, very tempting indeed.  If the box set is closer to $200 I may go for it. Quote

Darklord Rooke Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Awesome news, I'm in! Bring on November! Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 The reason why projects like this get funded is because people feel the need to get physical stuff and go for the most expensive rubbish... Which I'm totally fine with. Please give them as much money as you want. Quote
greenshadow622 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I just heard about this for the first time ... I'm cool with this. Now if only I had a job ... Quote
Decay Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 It sounds like they aren't going to dilly-dally around on this. The crowdfunding campaign launches next month, and Koestl says he's hoping they're able to release Rakuen just a year after the campaign ends. So the whole trilogy could be released by the end of next year. That would be pretty amazing. He isn't even half done with Gahkthun yet, though, so he's going to be a very busy man. Freestyle80 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 he'll be paid so he'll work pretty fast Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 he'll be paid so he'll work pretty fast I see. So Koestl is some kind of coin machine that only works when insert money? Money can certainly give you motivation, but I don't see how it'd make you translate faster. Actually, Grisaia got translated pretty fast for it's size, and the translation is fantastic. Quote
