Deep Blue Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I'm actually interested to see how the amane's story makes sense with the plot getting censored I mean if you take out the cannibalism then you just screw up her whole plot :/ Quote
Mugi Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 80 bucks for the 18+ trilogy? Not sure if I should be upset, but i'm throwing my money at the screen when it comes out anyways Quote
SilverLi Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 You should jump of joy more or less. That's a really good price if you think about that crap J-List and Mangagamer sell for $20 - $30 (no offence) for a short VN. The bigger and more respectable titles are rarely below $40-$45. Edit: $40 for the original Grisaia and $20 each for the sequels because they are according to VNDB shorter. Numbers from the sky. Quote
sarkasmus Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 So the 18+ version will be digital only? Great, another VN I will never be able to play uncensored (I can't import digital versions). Quote
SilverLi Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 So the 18+ version will be digital only? Great, another VN I will never be able to play uncensored (I can't import digital versions). For now the only information about the 18+ release is that they release the game through Kickstarer digital only. If you are patient they would probably release the physical copies later when they agreed with Frontwing about some details. Be patient. It is not releasing through Kickstarter at least. Quote
Rilarion Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 So 80 dollars for the entire trilogy, digital, 18+? Not a bad deal at all actually. I have no need for physical copies and if it's actually 80 dollars for 3 games I'm very much considering saving up for it. People prefer the 18+ version either because "Muh porn" and just general "I want the original product, not a censored version". I for one don't care wether or not it affects the story, but I certainly feel annoyed when I get sold a censored version of something, hence why I'm always against any form of censored localization. Wether or not it affects the story is hardly relevant for me but the Vita version adds extra scenes to replace the h-scenes so in terms of story and content you won't be missing almost anything because the Vita version was fully rewritten to make sense without h-scenes. So in this case in particular you're deciding between 2 different versions of the game, each with their own merits. So I guess you could say the main reason in this case for people wanting the 18+ version is "muh porn" (though usually that's always the reason regardless of what anyone says). Come on Nosebleed you only want the h-scenes, you're just keeping up appearences by supporting the all-ages version In all seriousness, where do we buy the digital +18 version after it comes out? (I couldn't find the info on Kickstarter page) Quote
Decay Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 You would be surprised, but a fair amount of mosaic'd content does not actually have anything drawn underneath - or if they do, it usually isn't what you think it is. Often, groups like Jast and Mangagamer work with the devs to draw those in. Basically, It's like a obnoxious form of lingerie... it's there to frustrate you and avoid breaking any censor laws in Japan, but still appear sexy and adult. What I'm having a hard time deciding, is if I want to buy the Steam version along with the +18... Does anyone know if the Steam (all ages) version ADDS or improves anything? Kind of like Realta Nua versus standard Fate/Stay Night?. (I already know about what is removed, or at least for Kajitsu) I think MangaGamer and JAST only very rarely has the uncensored CGs redrawn. There is a lot of uncensored eroge that have really terribly drawn genitals, and it's really apparent when artists take the easy way out (which isn't necessarily wrong). In this case, it seems like there is practically nothing underneath the mosaics, Front Wing apparently took that easy way out to an even bigger extreme, outright omitting some parts. It wouldn't only look crude, it would be comically bad. To some degree, if the genitals are crudely drawn, leaving in mosaics can enhance the eroticism. Like how censoring out random words in regular speech can make it seem filthy, or blurring out an act of light violence in a video can make it seem more brutal. Unless they're sure they can get someone really talented to do some high grade penis drawings, leaving the mosaics is probably the right choice. Suzu Fanatic and Skeith 2 Quote
