Valmore Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Finally got a figure (albeit a small trading size one) of my waifu: Quote
Nosebleed Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Finally got this in the mail. Not only that, but they restocked volume 2 today, so I ordered that as well! It's a really bulky omnibus, probably the thickest manga I have. Size comparison with other manga I have. From left ro right: Koe no Katachi, Kizumonogatari, Girl Friends, Orange Honestly I wish they'd release the individual volumes, it feels much nicer to hold a 200 page manga than a 400 page one. Even if it's more expensive, the experience is much better. Oh well, still bought it because it's a great manga. Quote
Nosebleed Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 @Dergonu look what just came in right after I made my previous post: Dergonu 1 Quote

It has 7 different stories across 14 chapters. It's still really cute though. Quote

Nosebleed Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Today's arrivals include these books plus a warning from the post office saying my other book got held up for being too large and so I have to go pick it up tomorrow. wew Quote
Nosebleed Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 And just the day after my most awaited order came in! These are definitely the best omnibus volumes I got, the cover is actually pretty solid and the the book itself is very tall which makes it much easiee to flip through since the pages are larger. They were expensive but totally worth it. LiquidShu 1 Quote

To be honest I don't really know much about Karuta, but since I'm learning Japanese I thought it might help. Quote

The Hiragana Asobi Karuta set is to help you learn Japanese and karuta but doesn't use the Hyakunin Isshu. While the set I bought doesn't bother to teach you things, you have to do that on your own. It uses the Hyakunin Isshu and is used in tournaments. The reason I bought mine was because Chihayafuru I also enjoy it since I get to learn more Japanese history which I'm doing right now anyways. Though my Japanese isn't good enough yet to really understand a whole lot (at least I get some) Honestly I would've liked to pick up both and use the Hiragana Asobi Karuta for now but oh well. Quote
Asonn Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 I just ordered Hatsuru Koto Naki Mirai Yori ion mandarake for 2.5k yen Quote
LiquidShu Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Yo in regards to T-shirts off of amiami the sizes are Japanese I'm assuming? Not international/US? Quote

From personal experience buying cloth from Japan is that you know your exact sizes in centimeters and then you look around after something similar. It is different depending on what manufacturer and company you are buying from too. A Totoro shirt could be different depending on who produced it. But overall it was decent sizing compared to Europe (Sweden). if you are medium a large was good in my case and I haven't had any problems ordering a medium even though it was a bit tight. So my suggestion would be order one size larger than what you wear today. But I can't answer what the US standard is sadly. LiquidShu 1 Quote

Thanks I was thinking of just going one size larger as well, looks like I will try that first! Quote
AaronIsCrunchy Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Picked up Buck-Tick's 13kai wa Gekkou on CD last week which was pretty exciting for me, it being one of my favourite albums ever. I've also just bought Memento Mori by the same group, which I'm hoping should be here in a few days cos I'm buying it off a friend of mine (also a Brit). Quote
Nosebleed Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Got my Re:zero volume 1 in the mail yesterday (sorry for potato quality pic). I haven't watched the anime for this, so I'm going in completely blind. Some people say it's amazing, others say it's absolute shit. I wonder where I'll stand. Quote
LiquidShu Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 I'm in Japantown in San Francisco, CA and I already went to a 100 yen type store. It's safe to assume I will be coming home with many Japanese products today. Quote
RimiNishijou Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Oh the 95 cent store! (Assuming they would still deal in yen). Nothing really special just got some magazines(sorry for potato camera): Dengeki Daioh Aug 2011 & Young Gangan 14 + 15 Quote
Chronopolis Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Bought Rizuberuru no Ma, the whole series of 4 volumes. Expecting it to be grand and dashing like Muramasa, but in comparison it's a lot more bubbly and warm. Man if only there were these kinds of things (VN's) sold on shelves in North America. If I didn't know I'd probably think it was some stylized shoujo mecha anime series. Which isn't the far from the truth, though the story is more storybook/fantasy than shoujo. Nosebleed Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 2nd volume of Orange arrived today. Now I finally have the entire thing Quote
Dergonu Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Eyyy, look what arrived. Also ordered Strike the Blood 1-3, but I guess they sent them separately. Quote
Nosebleed Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Got my Aroma nendoroid today, it's super cute Quote
