Praeliator Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Done the survey, it would be interesting to see more Key VNs been localised to the west. I also ask them whether or not they'll consider bringing the Baldr Sky series over to the west. Doubt it'll happen, but hey, one can at least dream. Quote
Silvz Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Steam is not responsible for whatever people do off-steam to their steam games. There are plenty of pornographic mods for games that are on Steam and they don't do anything about it. It being available in official form would just be an extension of that, perhaps. However, I think it is more likely that there won't be a patch, but a separate uncut version available via a different download service, like MangaGamer. Whatever they do, SP already stated on twitter that Steam is okay with their proposed 18+ solution. I'd actually like to buy it from steam AND get all different content [h-scenes], not to buy one or the other =( Quote
Cyrillej1 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 http://www.siliconera.com/2014/08/04/sekai-project-gauging-interest-localization-visual-novels-key/ From Siliconera Website Sekai Project are conducting a survey to gauge interest in the localization of games from Visual Art’s’ Key label. The survey can be taken here, and asks which games you’d like to see brought over, what other publishers you’re interested in, and other related questions. When we asked Sekai Project to comment on whether or not Key were taking a personal interest in the survey, we were informed that Sekai were conducting the survey more for personal research, and so they could present their findings to Key. Meanwhile, plans are underway to bring Key’s planetarian to Steam. I'm not sure if anyone posted this yet (if there already is one about it, then you can delete this)^^ Quote

Narcosis Posted August 5, 2014 Author Posted August 5, 2014 You're basically looking at this thread of mine. It seems that either one of the mods or admins unnecessarily changed the topic name, resulting in a mess. Since we're at it already, I'd like to express my concern; a lot of current actions taken by majority of the moderating team seems to be - to say the least - highly superfluous and does nott serve any particular meaning, beyond being detrimental to the forum itself. edit: It seems one of the mods made a mistake while merging a similiar new thread with this one, which resulted in the accidental name change. I made a correction and restored the topic name to the original one from before the merge. Kudos to Nosebleed for resolving the issue. Quote
InvertMouse Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 On another note, I for one marked having physical copies as important B). I would love to have more physical copies of VNs! At the moment, purchasing them and shipping them from Japan is a pretty tough order~ Stray Cat 1 Quote
Decay Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 The last physical copy of a PC game I've bought was... Oblivion, in 2006. I don't plan on doing it ever again. Quote
Tatsujin Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I don't see why people seems to dislike vn becoming all ages. Personally i think it depens more on they way they go about it. As for removing the H scenes from Grisaia no Kajitsu i dont really mind. The reason being that i think that the H-scens did not add anything for most routes. Except for amane and yumiko routes and i think the h-scenes actually hurt the story for Michiru and Makina's routes. I just hope they dont also remove the dirty jokes. Some of them where quite funny. that and the h-scenes for amane and yumiko's routes where pritty hilarious in my opinion. Yeah. That's what makes you unique and everyone else including myself. Everyone's different. But it will come down to this: All Ages is not a full game. You can spin your ground all you want. There are no additional scenes at all, either. I also heard they're trying to make an 18+ version off from Steam. So we will see how that goes. Sorry for the timid posts. Quote

So is Sekai Project straight up lying when they say there are additional scenes? Quote
Narcosis Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 No. The western PC version is based off the PSVita/PSP port of the game; it had sex scenes removed (out of obvious reasons; Sony doesn't allow erotic content on consoles), and adds additional new scenes to make up for the lack of h-content. I could say we're incredibly lucky with current way things are planned, since we will get all the additional content and h-scenes from the original JP PC version and everyone will be happy; you could call it a "master version" of the game. Bolverk Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Well I am glad Sekai may get enough influential enough to make a deal with Key. Though I doubt there will be Angel Beats first. I do hope so as more people might support the project then. Most other titles already got played for years and so on. I like am a fan of key so far, my tastes might may have changed now... But looking forwards to AB anyway. Quote
dreamweaver Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Only title that make sense to translate is Angel Beats Quote

I see the fact that they're even considering this a huge step in the right direction and hope it will come to fruition. Quote

There's people like these saying they'd love physical copies and all and then there are bastards like me telling Sekai I don't want physical copies. I feel like a dastard. Quote

Tempest Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 i voted for all of the key stuff ^^ i just hope they release the 18+ versions along with the all age versions as i would love to play both Quote
DawnWolf Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I just like the feeling of having something to show for the money I've spent. Yep. You have fans who need something they can hold with their hands, and then you have fans like myself who just don't have room for physical stuff and find it some much more convenient to get it digital. Different strokes different folks. Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. While that's true, this is the bloody problem: If I say that I want a physical copy, that's +1 supporter to Physical. But if I say I want digital copy, that's -1 to Physical, because there will be digital copies no matter the circumstances. Either way, if I want digital, there will be digital, while if I want physical, there needs to be support or it might not come. Quote

Narcosis Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 That's a sweet deal. Are they going to release a physical copy with limited edition? I hope so. SP mentioned about them in the survey. It's highly propable, they are hinting at the upcoming Grisaia release as well. It would be really neat to get Something like a CE along with the Steam release. Quote

True enough but if you and others vote for physical but just buy digital, then all the physical copies they made won't sell, they'll have lost money and that could lead to problems down the road. I'm happy enough with getting the games and I'd probably take more games released digitally and a wealthy/happier company over physical copies with less games and a company fighting off bankruptcy.
