Confession: I just read the Panama papers thread title as "the pajama papers". I bet that name would've gotten more clickthrough revenue for the journalists.

Because I don't really care about games (outside of starcraft). You guys could be taking about indie Russian folk music drama for all I care. It's the sheer bulk of identification and discussion with the topic that gets bothersome at some point. It feels that way, at the very least. I don't really think very highly of gaming as a hobby, so that adds to it.

?? Outside of the games sub-forum I haven't seen that much discussion about vidya games on the forums (aside from VNs ofc...).

Besides, almost everyone and their moms (quite literally) play video games those days. I don't really play a lot either but it's not surprising to see it pop up here and there.

That may or may not be true. It definitely feels like there's a lot, but I don't really care to fact check since I'm not trying to prove anything either way. And I am referring to the population that refer to themselves as "gamers". Which isn't everyone and their mothers

Confession: I miss the days when gaming was a nerdy pass time, only engaged in by those select few who are treated with disdain by the rest of the community. 

@arakura: As much as people like to talk about VNs being for 'readers', they are actually targeted toward 'gamers'. VNs haven't breached the 'reader' market yet. This being a VN website automatically means most people here will be gamers, and therefore will most likely talk about gaming activities. Especially those who found this place after playing stuff like 'Ace Attorney' or '999', which are both Adventure games. So yeah, it's to be expected that there's a fair amount of gaming talk in this community, like it's to be expect that there's a fair amount of anime talk within the community. Sad but true. Sad because I don't have the time to play many games any more, and a lot of gaming talk makes me envious.

yea I was trying to compare it to anime, but it's hard since I gloss over the anime and the gaming talk actually makes me leave threads when I see it. I'm not really salty about it very much, since I'm not here to talk about anything in particular.

I'll feel sorry for whatever loser becomes arakura's kid, assuming his negative outlook on gaming as a hobby translates to "NO VIDEO GAMES 4 YOU!@#"

I've come to the realization that my social life has become extremely stale and acquaintancy; I haven't made a 'best' friend / built a close bond with anybody since high school, and we all separated since they went dorming to different colleges so I only see them during breaks and whatnot to raid Facebook with our photo tagging spam.

Other than that I get along with my co-workers and classmates pretty well, we can get together and finish the job / do classwork & studygroups together and have some enjoyable banter but at the end of the day they're all just acquaintances and it's "see you next time!"

It's weird though because it's a conflicted desire; I want to get closer to people, but I also don't want to at the same time because too much effort

Not looking forward to work tomorrow. I used to enjoy doing inventories at Kaisers, but ever since we lost our best counters we went from 4 hour runtime with 6 people to 6+ hours with 10 people. Ridiculous. So when the Area Manager is breathing down our necks about why this current team has such ass performance compared to last year, well, because only two of those ten people can actually count pills, and guess what, pills makes up the majority of the pharmacy! 

Yes, yes, train the eight deadweights. It's been two months now. It only took me a week to become efficient & reliable at pills.

Some of them are getting there, but until then we're not gonna have an enjoyable ride.

BTW, and I only work weekends since I'm busy with school weekdays. I heard that some of the older counters who aren't available weekends (gg me) work weekdays though, so that's probably why they're able to make it. I know for a fact that, with the team tomorrow, if I call out sick or something they will get unbelievably rekt.

Thursdays are the best day of the week for me. Last day of class, it's payday, then have the entire weekend to spam porn games, life is good.
