How depressing is Grisaia no Kajitsu? Are the good endings actually good, or just bittersweet?

I've heard mixed opinions on this VN, I've heard that it's just a school life romance with some mystery in it, but then I see posts talking about some dark shit, and that apparently I should read Makina's bad ending (if I read any of the bad endings). However i'm one who gets very emotionally invested in my VN's, so I don't take bad endings very well, and bittersweet endings are iffy. Am I going to want to die if I read this?

they are good,

most of the good endings are proper happy endings, sometimes a little bittersweet but more sweet than bitter.

It is mostly the run up to the ending that is depressing.

Eating pizza during a certain part of amane's route was a terrible idea.

Never felt so guilty in my life.

There's actually only one bittersweet ending in the first installment. The rest are your usual proper happy endings. But to get those, you'll encounter some real shit (especially on Akane's)

Are we talking Saya no Uta shit? Or just some depressing shit? I don't think I could handle any more stuff like Saya.

good question, it depressing but it tends to end on a happy note so it's not that depressing.

(altough i must admit i have not read saya no uta)

Then again eathing anything while reading amane's route is something i will not advise. (because reasons)

For the love of god, listen to what he says!

Hahaha, I skipped through half of Angelic Howl, other than rumors I don't actually know what went on on the second half of the route.

Given this, I think all endings in Grisaia are good.

You have now been promoted to the rank of scrub. Congratulations.

And to the OP: They're just exaggerating things. I was eating during the worst moments of Amane's route.

This isn't such privileged information, the self proclaimed Grisaia fan has never played any of the bad endings or finished Angelic Howl. I am a man who does not enjoy depressing things (I watched Anohana yesterday  :mare: )

honestly, as far as i can remember, the endings weren't really happy, biut they were kind of inbetween bittersweet and the kind of happy you get when you avenge a family member's death, kinda like a relieved kinda happy. this is just my opinion tho. its probably wrong.

The routes themselves are filled with moments you could call depressing, you can tell that much from the synopsis. The good ends are mostly actually good, specially Sachi's end. Now for the bad ends, I'd say that they might be a bit heavy depending on how much you get attached to the girls, but honestly, one of them don't have a bad end at all, one is pretty disturbing, one is dumb so whatever, the other two are regular bad ends - though still packing a punch in quality.

look the game is mostly a comedy, take Amane's route for instance there is a very depressing part there but it lasts like 3 hours and the entire route is like 4 times that long also some tense shit near the end but i probably should not talk about poop and Amane at the same time, most of the time you spend in grisaia you spend it in H scenes or in really funny comedy scenes and the good endings i saw til now are really heartwarming but when the game needs to ground you back in reality it does so with a sledgehammer to the heat
