pokemon123 Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Well i've been wanting to read visual novels as of late that I could only dream of reading (dies irae and full metal murumasa). Apparently these are considered extremely hard to read for people due to writing style and murumasa has old kanji and stuff. This got me curious for those who read untranslated vn;s. What is the hardest one you have read? I can't give an answer since I can only read a few kanji thanks to some mandarin knowledge haha. Quote
Nosebleed Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I've heard Albatross Koukairoku is harder or just as hard as Dies Irae, my eyes bleed from the screenshots. Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Technically Comyu because as annoying as Akihito's narration could get, imagine trying to take it on untranslated . Thing is since it's translated and I've played it I wouldn't consider it on my list anymore. Currently it's Devils Devel Concept, though part of it is because of how wrapped up it can get in its own lore, but I've been able to play Kanata and Mutsuki's routes to completion and enjoy them though I still need to finish three remaining routes (Misora's, Akane's, and Mei's). Kaguya Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I do confess there were things in Dies I just couldn't understand at all. Was still amazing, though. Quote
Clephas Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Probably Kajiri Kamui Kagura, Chuushingura, or Soukou Akki Muramasa. Quote
XReaper Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 yup Kajiri Kamui Kagura caused me many headaches whilest reding Quote
Flutterz Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Da Capo 3, because it's the only thing I've read even partially in Japanese. Quote
LinovaA Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Akatsuki no Goei, but only because its only contender right now is Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi... and that was a breeze. Quote
Yuuko Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Hatsuyuki Sakura cause it's the only untranslated VN I have read currently Quote
Chronopolis Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Itsuka, Todoku, Ano Sora ni. Slightly harder than Muramasa if you ignore the latter's politics scenes and few very archaic scenes. The whole thing isn't consistently hard, but Itsuka Todoku is more flowery and vague in places. Rui tomo is pretty shitting hard too, for completely different reasons. Everybody speaks in varyingly indirect ways, and there are tons of jokes. You should really see the list in my signature. Quote
fun2novel Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Dies Irae for me. I don't even want to imagine what will happen to me if I was to read Kajiri Kamui Kagura right now, lol. Quote
Down Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I'm myself but the most kouhai of newbies, but rumor has is the letter from Ruitomo could be one of the hardest thing to properly comprehend in the media. ScarfSeeker 1 Quote
Kelebek1 Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Anything by light (which Dies Irae is). Pretentious writing, long prose, and entirely chuuni. Ridiculous combo. Quote
Vokoca Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Senshinkan for me... well, it's Masada, what more do you even need to know. Quote
Bolverk Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Ruitomo for me. That vn had so much weird shit in it. Quote
