And thus passed another exciting – albeit brief – Fuwapocalypse. You may or may not have noticed that Fuwanovel was taken down today, but that’s exactly what happened. We ran up against more hosting issues, and thus have chosen to change hosts. I think this change will bring a lot of stability to the site. Feel free to post any thoughts/questions you have. I always marathon VNs when I read them (even the longer ones, like fate or grisaia- doesn't take me more than 2 days to read those 50+ hours ones). Experience tells me that if you read more than one VN at a time because it seems too slow, you'll end up dropping the first VN enterily afterwards, but that's just me. Katawa is more of a romance, though- and there are plenty of different kinds of stories out there. So I think you should pick your favorite genre and read VNs of that genre first. Bem, espero ter ajudado~

I liked the first half of Chaos;Head for the same reasons, but it went downhill later on and I didn't enjoy it as much later on. Cross Channel is a really good read, although it's not a mystery. It's kind of a psychological thriller, but isn't not that much of a thriller. Basically it's just psycho.

the translation isn't really good, but the VN has a great story- go for it!

Forest has some mystery elements and it's really nice (quite easy to fall in a bad end, though), and you should look at Sekien no Inganock and Shikkoku no Sharnoth, since both will make you think a lot about what's actually happening. It’s been a rough ride for all of us. Within what essentially boils down to a 48 hour time period, the site went down, was put back up, my plans for Fuwanovel were largely made impossible, our future stability was both questioned and potentially secured, new information rocked me about where we’re going as a community, and we lost two passionate staff members. I don't like the language or rhetoric Naomi and Nayleen used above—and wouldn’t tolerate it in almost any other case—but I understand it. It continues to frustrate, exasperate, and deeply bother me to see people treating each other so poorly. I understand that the street runs both ways – I’m not claiming that Nayleen, Naomi, or any of us are innocent of perfect civility – but as adults and friends we have the obligation to respect each other. There are a lot of us on Fuwanovel, and it’s probably impossible to like each and every other person, but there’s no excuse for personal attacks or abusive behavior. That goes for everybody. I've seen some of the rhetoric Naomi talked about -- up close and personal -- and all I can say is that we need to be better. I've mediated hundreds of spats -- large and small -- throughout my time on Fuwanovel, and each one of them could have been prevented by a little respect and restraint. Fuwanovel's best quality is its friendship. We need to preserve that. I’m not trying to legitimize the rhetoric of these posts – I’m trying to show the real cost and the extent of we stand to lose by abusing each other. In regards to Naomi, as other members, I can verify that I've read dozens of logs where people said cruel things. I don't blame her for wanting out -- it wears me down, too. We need to be better. I'll be enacting some reforms to help the community (both the staff and all members) address cases of rude and abusive members. While I will continue to ask the staff to be examples of respect and civility for the forums, I recognize the need to protect them and everybody else. If I haven't done a good enough job to this point, I apologize. Let’s remember that civility doesn't mean mindless agreement, it means respect as a human right. The goal is not to control speech, it's to ensure respect in our dialog and interactions. In any case, this thread has been derailed. As a collective Fuwanovel would like to thank Nayleen and Naomi for all of their help over all the months they've been with us. Fuwanovel has been wildly improved thanks to the time and skill you brought to the table.

CGs should not be that hard to find, they should be on nyaa. As for VN saves its not that big of a problem either unless you play gameplay VNs, because for normal non gameplay VNs you can mostly just CTRL through the stuff in few minutes (should take you max 30 mintues per VN to get you where you were if you remember). You can ask people to help you getting to some specific position if you don't exactly remember where in the VN it was.

TotalBiscuit paid $2300 for data recovery for few terabytes of data and not all of it was even recovered perfectly - that would be equivalent of full drive of anime/movies.

I looked at the prices at some Finnish recovery service and it is 500€-800€

Indeed, re-downloading everything will be free and who knows maybe you don't even want some of the older stuff. Data recovery for few terabytes of data will cost you thousands of $. I lost my drive with TV series and anime too and at first I thought how it sucks but then it actually didn't bother me that much (I got the drive exchanged since it was still in warranty but not sure if you can do the same since it will be obvious that it was your fault you broke it if you dropped it). Be glad that it wasn't a drive with some unfinished work or something that you didn't backup somewhere else.

If it's actually broken and doesn't get detected if you try it in a couple of PCs I would say best just throw it and download everything again. Data recovery services are expensive as hell.

I have considered anime a legitimate art form for several years now. There are animes out there that have influenced and helped structure my views of life on an equivalent level that literature has. What I'm suggesting is should Anime be respected on the level that literature and film are? Should there be courses that analyze anime in the same fashion that there are courses that analyze literature and film? I say yes. I consider anime to be so brilliant because it is a combination of visual art, animation, music, and story telling. You could write a comprehensive paper on the significance of an art style in an anime, or choose to focus exclusively on the story, or focus on how the animation, story and music all harmonize with each other. There are many things to think about when analyzing and interpreting anime precisely because it is a combination of multiple arts, which is why I firmly believe it should be respected as such.

This is actually not that surprising, since you two really fit together. Life always has many trials. While I found my answer in isolating myself from other people and getting as close to the world as possible, relying on somebody else to give you strength and meaning is definitely a valid solution, if not an obvious happier conclusion than the path that I took. Keep in mind that you can never become one and what you think is different, so sometime you will enter in conflict. I believe you can surpass that conflict, though. If it were anyone besides you two, I would just ignore what I'm actually thinking about and would be too embarassed to make this cheesy post, just giving a normal "congratulations!". However, while we may not talk together all that much, I believe that I know you two a bit. You both show your feelings right away, are straight-forward, get hurt and happy easily. I don't think you're good at following roads set by others. As far as I know, you both had "normal" chances and options in life, yet you rejected them to forge your own road. I don't think people like you fit very well in society, honestly. Naomi's idealistic nature and Nayleen's honesty and straight-forwardness are both things that the bad parts of our world love to feed on. But I do believe that you both have the perserveranc to go through the road you're paving until the end, no matter what. I'm sure that there are many things waiting for you two in the future, despair, secrecy, pain and unfairness. If there's anything I learned from observing our world, though, is that there are also plenty of good things hidden- both in front of us and in the parts of nature that man hasn't corrupted yet. I live for knowledge and bettering myself- regardless of what's your meaning in life, I pray it grants you happiness- though I'm sure that I don't need to tell you that. Sorry for the cliche- but you should know that these are my most honest feelings. Again, we may not be talking all that much lately, but I consider both of you as precious friends. How i first got into vns turned out really weird. It was just when i was about 13-14 years old, i was just looking through anime vids at youtube, then i somehow came across the Little Busters! OP. And i loved it so much, not just the song... how all the chara looked so nice, this 'group of friends' image, difficult to explain but i really loved it, i felt like i knew 'this thing is damn awesome' eventhough i knew nothing bout it. So i watched even more LB vids, amvs and vn gameplay vids eventhough i didnt knew what it was about. I also took a liking to that baseball mini game. So then some month/year later i kinda came across LB vids again and saw that there is a english gameplay vid on it. There where many engl gameplay vids from it, and i kinda watched a bit and still didnt knew what LB really is, it didnt really didnt looked that much like a 'game'. Then also for the FIRST time i googled Little Busters and readed through the info bout the game and the charas on wikipedia, but found out that it was only in japanese (or i just gave up on it) but i still had hoped that one day it would be tled that i am able to play it. Then 1-2 years later when i was 16years old, i kinda came across LB vids on youtube again, and then googled it again...and found out that it was TRANSLATEED! That was maybe the best moment of my life and it kinda felt like FATE DESTINY! that i found LB again. I actually didnt minded that it was in english (since my native langauge isnt english but german) becuz i always liked english lessons in school. I searched then download links, at first it was fucking confusing how to do this mounting thing and how it everything worked and and i began to play it and also needed to look SOO MAANY TIMEEES into english dictionary (becuz there where quite many words i never knew or heard before). best thing ever XD
