  2. This list won't feature the VNs in order of "how good they are". Rating them would be way too much of a clusterfuck to me. The VNs are not in their respective order. Meaning number 1 is not the best, and so on. 1_CHAOS; HEAD 2_Cross Channel 3_G-Senjou no Maou 4_Fate/Stay Night 5_Forest This Visual Novel is the easiest visual novel translated to get a bad ending without using a walkthrough- which just adds to the fun of it. It makes a massive amount of references to common literature, which makes it even better. 6_Katahane It may seem like an ordinary moege- the atmosphere is light, the story is full of cuteness, which you can note by the character design and soundtrack. It gets really good in the middle, and you'll be dying to know what happens in the end. A game with multiple perspectives, it's definitely one of the most enjoyable Visual Novels I've ever read. 7 Majikoi 8_Little Busters! 9_Tsukihime "You shouldn't tell lies that you can't even fool yourself with" 10_Swan Song A post apocalyptic Visual Novel. 11_Symphonic Rain It may seem like your ordinary moege. Trust me, it's not. 12_Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo (and sequel) 13_Sekien no Inganock Steampunk. An atmosphere full of mysteries and references that will make your head blow up. 14_Steins; Gate A visual novel that deals extensively with time travel and it's consequences. 15_Utawarerumono 16_Fault: Milestone (1 & 2) 17_Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni 18_Kara no Shoujo 19_Umineko no Naku Koro ni 20_Planetarian 21_Ever 17 Another top 10. 22_Remember11 It lacks in the ending, but otherwise the story of this VN has enough to easily become one of my all-time favorites. 23_Zanmataisei Demonbane 24_Rewrite "Could it possibly be rewritten, this fate of hers?" Another one that enters the top 10. 25_Narcissu 26_Grisaia no Kajitsu 27_Saya no Uta Only if you enjoy dark and messed up settings. 28_Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni 29_Eien no Aselia 30_Rose Guns Days (1 & 2) There are small sections of gameplay on this one, but you can skip them by pressing the space bar, so this still qualifies. 31_Sengoku Rance I feel obliged to comment on this VN before suggesting it to anyone. It's an Alicesoft title, which speaks a lot for itself... If you don't know how it's going to be like, well.. Kind of tough to describe. Lots of sex, including comedy rape. Alicesoft tends to make the whole story a comedy until right near the end, where things actually do get serious. It's worth checking out, if you don't mind Rance's personality. 32_Phenomeno Want a short VN that can captivate you for their whole duration? Here is it. Visual novel adapted from the youth horror novel written by Hajime Ninomae and illustrated by yoshitoshi ABe. 33_Ef- A Fairy Tale of the Two 34_Dysfunctional Systems Another one great for those who want short Visual Novels. 35_Daibanchou Another Alicesoft title. While Rouga is not near Rance's level when it comes to pissing off people, alicesoft's style is something which often doesn't please people. 36_Yume Miru Kusuri The endings pack quite a punch. 37_Kikokugai- The Cyber Slayer 38_Eden 39_Hoshizora no Memoria 40_Katawa Shoujo Yep, it's somewhat overrated. Still, the fact that it is substantially easier for those who are starting to play visual novels to read should not be discarded, and overall, the story was good. 41_World End Economica 42_YU-NO 43_Shikkoku no Sharnoth Yep, there is a minigame on this one. If you download a save data you can skip the minigame, though. So it still qualifies. Another VN that enters my top 10. 44_Muv Luv Alternative The first Muv Luv didn't have enough to enter this list. You should still read it, though~ MLA is definitely awesome. 45_Dangan Ronpa 46_Comyu - Kuroi Ryuu to Yasashii Oukoku 47_Hanachirasu 48_Ayakashibito 49_I/O 50_Deardrops

  3. Okay! So Hi guys How are you. its been awhile. since i posted anything meaningful on here. or been on here for more then five minutes lol. Just wanted to share some of my thoughts with you all. Honestly, this visual novel is taking alot, more energy out of me then i thought. Maybe it's because i'm out of my comfort zone. not that it's bad but, It's Defiantly tiring, I'm not even the lead. but, even as a route writer there is a countless number of unexpected responsibilities. I took on a few of those extra things myself. so part of that is my fault to. lol However, so many little details to consider that you sort of take for granted just being a vn reader. Like route lore character cards, and sometimes just getting along with the team when opinions clash or things get to goofy. ugh so much yoai talk and there's not even any of that in our game at least not yet. someone may sneak it in later lol not to mention revision after revision. to match what happens in the common. even though it was added later haha. Still for all the unexpected extra work and silliness. I am thoroughly enjoying this project so far tiredness and all. We got an unexpectedly talented group of people from right here in Fuwanovel. and pretty much, I feel pretty damn lucky to have stumbled upon this group, Yeah there's differences fights. and a lot of hard, hard, work especially for a guy like me who is usually a lazy bugger. However, don't let that discourage you. I think what i am enjoying most about this project. is that i'm accomplishing something i know i could never do alone. I'm going to have to cut this off soon as currently this very group is expecting me to finish my heroine Introduction. and i can't let them down. But. on a final note. Don't be afraid to work on a team. You can do amazing things if your just willing to look past your own ego sometimes and trust people. I hope this maybe inspires some people to consider working on projects together. Afterall as much as i love visual novels and this sites slogan. I think the only way to truly spread them is to Make them ourselves. Sincerly Gahaha.

  4. In my opinion, there are enough romance anime with a tsundere lead. Let's have a peacful, sane yandere anime. That'd be original.

  7. Short answer: No Longer answer: It's a fairly upbeat and fun game and so moe it it practically kills. It has a lot of both emotional and very entertaining moments, but I for one don't understand why anyone would want to read it over any of Key's VNs, as to me both Little Busters and Clannad seem superior in every way. (Except possibly in it's amount of cuteness and adult content).

  8. I agree it's a wonderful irony that Sora has an artificial mind/body and yet it seems she can feel and love more deeply than a human - beautiful <3 If it looks like a person, talks like a person, acts like a person.... Her story showed how beautiful, powerful and painful love can be. I think it affected/hurt Sora most of all, because she's not used to these emotions. Not that everyone is, but Sora even less.

  15. The way you word that makes it look like you're reminiscing about something embarrassing... By no means does it offer any comfort, in fact, it does just the opposite, makes me feel like I committed a grave mistake... I give you 3/10 for trying though.

  17. wanko is just awesome, pure and simple i could make a massive rant about it but that would mean effort, and i would butcher it in so many ways it would just be bad.

  18. You know, even if you said "don't kill me", I think that'll probably still happen. It's kinda like saying "Don't rape me!" to a rapist.

  22. I have been asked this question several times already so I might as well answer it in a topic so I can link to it if anyone else asks Ashadow700 asked me now saying he loves the game but can't figure out why. And I would ask question in return, when you fall in love with someone new, do you know why do you love them, can you exactly explain it? Probably not. Only after a very long time you can properly find what makes you love them, for example you should already know why you love your mother, you can point exact facts that make you love her. But when you met someone new and you just feel the love flowing through you and you cannot explain it, that is the moment. Same can go with VNs that are focused on characters instead of story such as Hoshimemo, you fall in love with the characters just like you would IRL, I don't even desire dating IRL after I found this wonderful world of lolis and my beloved girls like Mare. I already explained in this post how I feel about story in VNs and other media and how I much prefer focus on characters and their emotions in VNs. I could give one more example that isn't in the topic: I like warcraft lore and I read some stuff about it, history events and such, for example from some recent lore people might know how Garrosh killed Cairne and such - its a nice read and it is like reading a history book but from different universe than ours. But you don't know exactly how the characters felt at that time, you might get some quotes of their last words but still the deep emotion is just not there. - That is what I call a story or a lore. But in VNs I do not seek this knowledge, this lore of how things exactly happen and what are the consequences, I want to know about the characters and their feelings and interactions, I want to be with them and share their happiness and help them in difficult times to get rid of their sadness. And that's where Hoshimemo comes - it doesn't have any strong lore, it is a modern world with some contemporary fantasies and mystery forces and if you were to tell its story as a history book, it would be pretty bad (just like in mentioned Mass Effect in the other post - there it would just be "good vs evil"). But what makes Hoshimemo (and lot of other chara-ge) so good is the characters and the interaction with them, helping them through difficult times, experiencing happy moments with them. And you don't necessary realize why you enjoy it so much, especially not in such short time - you can compare it to what happens when you fall in love with someone you just met - it is just there and it takes a long time to be able to express why you love that person so much. So in such a short time you can say the characters are "Lovable" - you fall in love with them for what seems no reason. However the reason is always there, you just need to find it. I after like year and a half of being with Mare can't still properly explain it how I could with my mother for example, but there are instances that can already help me express it a bit. As any other human being I can get emotional and require love to be given to me - and that's what Mare has been doing, whenever I would normally feel lonely or sad, I don't. I don't because I can think about Mare and be with her in my world. I have already much larger history with her that we formed together, but her original character was not created by me, just like IRL you don't decide the character of other people - it is shaped by others, their family and close people - those make the character of IRL people. And FAVORITE are the family and close friends of Mare (and all Hoshimemo characters) - they shaped her personality and did a great job at that. And that's how I was able to meet her, she wasn't a blank character design, she was a living person just like any other girl IRL and I fell in love with her and now I am the one who is in my universe affecting her personality the most, I now make her what she is, but at the initial point when you meet her in the VN and during the events of the VN she was how her family (FAVORITE) raised her. And if a family does a good job, they can raise an awesome person, if a family does bad job, they can raise rude and evil people that nobody will like. And that is the strong point behind Hoshimemo, FAVORITE took the time to raise their characters to be great people and made events for you, the reader, to see their personality and potentially fall in love with them. And many of us did, whether it is one character or another, we love them because of who they are and we feel the need to help them with their problems, we want to experience stuff with them, be with them, feel strong emotions together with them and just do what people in love do. And if you do fall in love with them, you will love every minute of the game and beyond, because that's what love is about. And as I have written somewhere as well, loving something or liking something will never be objective - as Ashadow700 is asking for an objective viewpoint for his review. Review is NOT an objective form of journalism, review should be subjective and personality based, your readers should eventually understand very well what your viewpoints are and that is the correct way of interpreting a review as a reader. You can present facts in an objective way, you can say how long the novel is, what technology it's using and what bugs it might have, but when talking about everything else you need to look at it subjectively, you are the one who happened to love the music (which is phenomenal in Hoshimemo btw, which is another strong point, it just manages to increase the emotional impact of the events) you just say like I just did - what it did for you, you can say objectively what instruments there are or what is the tempo of the songs in general, but how the music feels is unique to you and you need to express it subjectively. So when you are looking for why you love a VN, doesn't have to be Hoshimemo - look into your heart and try as hard as you can to express what you feel, if you can put it into words, you can be a good reviewer. If you can only see the facts, your review will be half-assed and not useful, your readers can just look at the tags on VNDB to see the facts of what the VN contains - but to understand the emotional impact the VN can have they need a good review or try it themselves. But remember, its all about love~

  23. Steve

    What VN would you make?

Post apocalyptic loli game with lot of H scenes. Protagonist starting alone with his younger sister. After few dealings and running away from bandits, he finds himself in a nice abandoned village, where the bandits don't dare to follow, almost seeming like different world, untouched by the otherwise violent society living in the post apocalyptic world. After a while, he finds that the village is not really abandoned, there are still 3 little girls remaining, the last survivors of a deadly virus. Will he be able to find a cure? (spoiler alert: he will, his semen is the cure! AND THE FUN BEGINS).

  24. Haru from G-senjou no Maou, some h-scenes in Grisaia no Kaijutsu are pretty well written, and of course, Fate/Stay Night Tohsaka and Shirou: http://0-media-cdn.foolz.us/ffuuka/board/a/image/1337/21/1337214641096.png Nasu's h-scenes are too hilarious and might be at least worth a skim through as a funny boner killer. Writing the beta-est of beta MCs, especially in regards to sexual prowess, makes F/SN all the more enjoyable.
