It's never about how original or unoriginal their ideas are, it's all about how well they execute them. There's a reason certain ideas BECOME cliches in the first place, and that is people are interested in these type of stories, and it's a solid base to launch an exciting tale. The world is full of stories full of overdone ideas going on to become best-sellers (Robert Jordan's books are full of dull cliches for example). It's also full of people who try original, great sounding ideas and falling flat on their face. Ideally you'd like a well-executed story which is original and fresh, but as long as the story is executed with flair and talent, I have no problem with how cliche'd the stuff is. I don't have enough information to make a judgement call yet, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it.2 points -
Help Save Zero Escape 3

Virtue's Last Reward is my favorite game of all time. I loved the character development, the twists, the story as a whole, the atmosphere(nowhere on par with 999 though.) and pretty much everything(except graphics). The characters were indeed less likable. However, 999 was not based on a game of betrayal which makes trusting people easier. Uchikoshi said that Japanese fans were disturbed by the amount of gore and horror in 999 so he weakened it in VLR. As for Sigma, I did not feel any disconnection nor a huge connection. One of the endings twists were so awesome that I actually laughed like a maniac as I placed the pieces together and everything started to make sense. Operation Bluebird is preparing a fanbook right now actually, so it is not all about "likes". If there were an option to vote with my wallet, I would. As for why it failed, I heard it was because Danganronpa was so overwhelmingly popular that many people did not even notice or care about ZE. (Heck, you can even understand DR is far more popular by comparing the amount of hentai it has on the internet.) Zero Escape 3 is the game I want to be made the most- Portal 3, Half Life 3 can wait.- and I hope to see the day that we see the announcement that ZE3 will be made.2 points -

There have been instances in the past when overseas sales caused game series to be reincarnated in the form of sequels. They even localize it, at that.1 point -

He referred specifically to Japan because that's the game's primary market. Even though the titles sold well in the west for a VN type game, it still wouldn't have moved as many copies as it would have in Japan, where it sold poorly. Even Ace Attorney struggles to sell decently in the West, which was part of the reason we never saw AAI2. At the end of the day the company in question doesn't care where the money comes from. If the game moves enough units then a sequel will be made. It didn't do well in Japan, and these sorts of games never do really well in the West, so there's no sequel. Move another 10,000 units in the West might just get somebody's attention. Sending somebody pretty drawings won't do anything.1 point -
Saya No Uta:Extended Thoughts and Questions (SPOILERS)
traveler101 reacted to Vokoca for a topic
There's a difference between being scary and being creepy, and Saya no Uta goes for the later rather than the former. It doesn't attempt to scare you with gruesome scenery, monsters and death - instead, it makes you cope with it. When the story starts, you might think that everything is gross and horrible, and you want nothing more but to get away from it. But just like Fuminori, you gradually get used to the macabre by the constant exposure, and by the time the choice presents itself to escape the hell, it is very well possible that you don't even want to take it anymore - I know that I did not. And that's the truly creepy thing about the story in my opinion; you get used to the grotesque so much that by the end, what the protagonist does seems perfectly right. After all, it's for Saya, right?1 point -
No ! 1. Mass Effect 3 2. Mass Effect 2 3. Mass Effect 1 ... All other games are not worth to be listed here with these 3 , maybe only the 4. NBA 2k Series1 point

I thought it was good, really good, except for the last couple episodes. The deaths started to get so rediculous I couldn't help but laugh. Besides that, the plot progression and atmosphere were amazing.1 point

I love it. Watch the stuff everyday. Hate the stuff animated from popular doujinshi though... They always have like a 5 dollar animation budget.1 point -

Which one is better is up to the individual . I prefer 999, personally, but I really enjoyed VLR as well. Very much hoping there will be that third title!1 point -

G-Senjou no Maou - The Devil on G-String Rated 18+ You play the role of Azai Kyousuke, the son of a legendary gangster infamous in the underworld. You spend your time listening to Bach, playing God at school and covertly working for your stepfather, a ruthless financial heavyweight. This idyllic existence is broken when two individuals appear in the city - a beautiful girl named Usami Haru with hair you could get lost in for days, and a powerful international gangster known only as "Maou". Almost without delay, the two begin a deadly cat-and-mouse game, bringing you and your friends into the crossfire. Plotting, political intrigue and layer upon layer of interlocking traps are the weapons in this epic battle of wits. Kyousuke can meet and fall in love with one of the four main girls of the game: Tsubaki, Kanon, Mizuha, and Haru. ENDING GUIDE This game was a thrill to play. G-Senjou no Maou offers you the chance to be with one of the four heroines in the game, with Haru's Route being that of the "True Route." At some point in the game, the choices will offer you the possibility to branch off the 'main story' (True Route) into one of the other three heroine's own route, leading the player to that heroine's Good and Bad endings. The main story doesn't go on after that. That's why it is the author's suggestion to play Haru's Route last.
