    What are you playing?

    >Choice 2 is actually the one that leads to a good end >"It's a deconstruction of the genre!" >Game hailed as a masterpiece by Kotaku >Fans write wikias on it explaining how the themes relate to Schopenhauer and Nietzsche >It's actually the coder who screwed up and switched the two choices ...hrm, on a side note I advanced a bit on Forest. I'm probably lacking a bit in knowledge of popular literature and fairy tales to have all the keys to some of the nonsense there is. Eh, let's hope it's not crucial to understanding what it's all about in the end. Also my wall of text on Grisaia is shaping up to be way too long >_>

  4. Youtube is a good idea, make a nice trailer. Maybe try some of the anime news sites and see if they are interested in publishing an article on it. Ask if people have blogs and if they want to write on it. I can help make you a post om VNAer if you want too And of course get people to talk about it~ Just don't post it on 4chan.

  12. I think that the About section needs to be heavily rewritten as it isn't very informative. It consists mostly of Aeru's personal thoughts. The section that explains what a visual novel is could especially use a rewrite as it isn't very informative. The video definitely needs to change as well as almost all the scenes in it are SOL scenes (even the F/SN ones!).

  13. That depends. If you do a lot of video editing it is worth it. The reason being video editing needs a lot of multitasking and for that hyperthreading is a good thing. If you only do video editing on occasion it is probaly not worth it. The reason being the increase in price. If you play a lot of games it is also not worth it because hyperthreading is not very usefull of games better spend the extra money on a better video card. So it all comes down how much video editing you do and how heavy that video editing is. This is decides wenether you actually need a i7-4770k. The reason i sugessted the i5-3570k was because it did not know you did video editing. And though you where planning on building a game machine. In that case it is not worth it because the performance increase of the i7-4770k vs the i5-3570k would be mariginal as most games can't make use of hyperthreading. In the case of video editing however the performance difference should be noticable due to the fact that the i7 is more suited to multitasking. So it all depends on how heavy the video editing you do is and wenether that increase in performance during video editing is worth it for you.

  14. Something I pestered Mangagamer about in the past was a Gamertag for VNs--a graphic representation of the VNs you own that you can link to in all the forums you frequent. This is similar to yet subtly different from a VNDB profile; the point here is to display your collection, not just show all the VNs you've played. It's a step towards de-vilifying VNs as a shameful vice, and overturning the current culture of freeloading and replacing it with pride in supporting a growing niche hobby.

  16. Yeah they maybe quadcores but the thing I was trying to get at was hyperthreading.

  17. Unfortunately I don't use Atlas or TA helper, so I'm not entirely sure what you are referring to :3. It seems to be pretty clear that the problem is related to how \ is a special character reserved for coding. (it appears as the yen symbol in japanese) Your best bet will be talking to people who are more familiar with using atlas / how translation aggregator handles the \ character.

  19. EXTRA is short anyways. It's like 15-20 hours at best to get Sumika and Meiya's arcs. Unlimited is also short about 10 hours long at best and the recommended route is Meiya (priority over the rest) and Yuuko (secondary, optional) and everyone else is not worth the time. So now that's all and done. Here is Muv-Luv Alternative's ratings. And this is where it stands. #1 VN at a staggering 9.29 rating and it beats all of Key's VNs, Steins;Gate, Fate Series, and whatever else I didn't mention. There's a reason why it's standing at #1 while Fate and Clannad/ReWrite/Little Busters! and White Album 2, etc are not in that category. They're all great VNs, but Alternative bests them. Do Not skip EXTRA. It is a generic VN, boring at most but read through it because a lot of what happens there will actually come back and bite hard later on in Unlimited/Alternative. It's necessary to understand the character's relationships, where they came from, etc. EXTRA and Unlimited are a full sequel to Alternative. There's no-way around it unless you want to be thrown in the middle of the story and be confused with their stories, backgrounds, questions being tossed around, etc. Plus, we play VN to be emotionally attached to them, right? That's just another reason to throw out there. Here's the guide. Right side is the routes and left side is the info. Also, It is not. The manga is ... bad. :/ Anyways, do whatever you want but if you want the full experience then do what we're recommending to you. The guide I posted is anything but a list of facts. Just go read EXTRA and Unlimited and stop wasting your time here.

  20. Hey Rich. I actually like Mecha. But I don't like the old stuff. I like the new stuff because of the art, design, anatomy, and critical attention to these factors. This can actually be pin-pointed to even ecchi mecha series as well as long as it has what I want. I love animation, art, pixels and all of those graphics to the very core. I also like Muv-Luv mecha. Really nice designs and well-though physics. Lots of niche things make sense as well. As far as Gundam - I'm not a fan of Gundam. I dislike Gundam because all there is to it are things taking from - say - Macross. Anyone remember Gundam Seed + Destiny and that pink-hair girl and her singing? Yeaaah Macross had that for decades. I've tried to watch Gundam 00 but that shit is SO DRAGGING AND BORING in the first five episodes. I want to give Gundam 00 one more shot because it's a new modern mecha anime and I want to see some cool parts. I really like details about how things work. This is very important to me. I haven't watched anime for few months now since I'm just waiting on BDs to finish up.

  32. A little announcement, thanks to the new people we've been recruiting during august concerning the different assets creation, we might be able to release some playable content (ie a very short demo) relatively soon! I can't promise for sure, but you can expect it for second half of September if everything goes well (well, everything goes well only in an ideal world, so there might be some delay). Content will be Day 1 of common route, and there should be around 20 minutes of reading content. Hopefully day 1 will be a good introduction to our world setting, to the story and to some of the characters! Get hyped (or not)! Also, we just made some new blog posts : One about writing, an interesting explanation about "method writing" from our lead writer Megan : http://lucid9.weebly.com/blog/off-the-record-method-writing And another post with a Rui presentation, and a new OST from Greg! http://lucid9.weebly.com/blog/when-it-rains-it-pours

  38. Grisaia no Kajitsu Licensed by Sekai Project Summary Mihama Academy - on the surface, a closed learning environment established to nurture students who find themselves at odds with the world around them; in actuality, an orchard-cum-prison built to preserve fruit that has fallen too far from its tree. Whatever the circumstances behind its establishment, Mihama Academy is at present home to five female students, all with their own reasons for "enrollment." For better or worse, each girl has established a routine obliging of her current situation; life moves at an idle, yet accommodating pace within the walls of Mihama. Yet with the arrival of the institute's first male student, the nearly preposterously opaque Kazami Yuuji, the students at Mihama begin to fall out of step with their predetermined rhythms. Will Yuuji prove to be the element the girls around him needed to take hold of their lives once more, or will the weight of their pasts prove too steep a wall to overcome? And in the first place, just who is Kazami Yuuji? While the true nature of the "job" he is wont to alight to at the most haphazard of moments remains shrouded in secrecy, one thing is for certain - his encroachment upon the quiet orchard known as Mihama Academy will prove itself momentous in one way or another. And of course, one cannot discount the possibility that perhaps Yuuji himself carries the weightiest past of any of the students... Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order The game has a similar structure to G-Senjou no Maou in that its plot branches into a heroine's route at certain choices, although each of them is valid in its own as there's no true end. After entering a heroine's route the choices boil down to a single one for good/bad end. Following the flow of the story and entering each route as soon as you encounter them would lead to the following order: Makina -> Amane -> Sachi -> Michiru -> Yumiko. That said, Route Guideline Amane Good End Bad End Makina Good End Bad End Michiru Good End Bad End Sachi Good End Bad End Yumiko Good End Bad End Attribution A mysterious source. Aaeru formatted the original version of this post. It has since been updated and reworked several times by various staff members and admins.
