Prima ☆ Stella Review

Here's my review of Atelier Kaguya's Prima ☆ Stella: http://gamesforadultsandeveryone.blogspot.com/2015/07/import-games-for-adults-prima-stella.html3 points -
... Pygmalion makes moege look good in comparison. *deadly serious* Also, Tokyo Babel is right up there with Dies Irae and Devils Devel Concept in my top ten, lol. The story does resemble an SMT game in the sense that it is post-apocalypse... the difference is that the demons, humans, and angels are all equally screwed and desperate to find a way to survive (and not be driven insane).2 points

btw dont prey on mangagamer I think that might be illegal. I meant pray, but that was hopefully quite obvious lol. Also another VN with a dead translation (someone should really pick this up, it looks and should be quite insane, according to most people) https://vndb.org/v12002 points

Horror/thriller/mystery recs please?
Funyarinpa and one other reacted to Wonderfullyevil for a topic
I'll second Phenomeno and Umineko as they fulfill all 3 genres. For thrillers, you can't go wrong with G-senjou no Maou, though not much of a mystery. Remember11, 999, and VLR are good thrillers too, with atmospheres which can creep you out in some bad endings. Shikkoku no Sharnoth is horror mystery. It's slow-paced, but the prose more than makes up for it, unless you dislike it.2 points -

Well, here's a copy of the patch I've got. Hopefully this is not against the rules: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7ZBY2nieMPiYzM5UW4yY0o5dVE/view?usp=sharing That said, to get a good install up you might want more than just this - there's lots of tweaking to be done if you feel like it. I've PMed you with some other interesting stuff.2 points

Purrfectly Ever After (Kickstarter)
AaronIsCrunchy reacted to Weeev for a topic
Purrfectly Ever After is an original English language visual novel (OELVN) for girls. This dating sim is filled with side-splitting comedy, over-the-top drama, and of course, heart-melting romance. This first game from Weeev aims to bridge the gap between Japanese-centric otome games told in a not-so-Japanese point of view and storyline. Purrfectly Ever After focuses on a food-loving burglar cat who gets herself into a series of unfortunate events which ended up feeling sorry for herself. Luckily for her, she also encounters kind strangers who rescue her along the way. She wished that she could become a human so that she could earn food honestly. Her wish is overheard by a fairy godfather she didn’t even know she had. And so begins her story. Majikoi A-1 - (Possible) Translation Project
Jade reacted to Heizei_koukousei for a topic
Skyspear Translations is back! And this time we're trying our hand at a more popular title, but we need you to help us! Since the recent release of the fully translated patch for Majikoi there has been increased attention to the series. For this reason we would like to begin working on Majikoi A-1 in coordination with the project working on Majikoi S. By working on both projects at the same time we can bring the series in its glorious entirety to the community in a shorter time than one team could accomplish. because I'm needlessly cynical. You're probably right I just question why they don't try and prop up their 18+ releases by announcing intent. G-Senjou is supposed to release end of Summer and we've gotten no info on if it will have an 18+ release...now would have been a good time to say. So yeah I'm a bit cynical I'd probably buy them either way. edit: hated sekai project's description of muv-luv...fuck game of thrones it's nothing like muv-luv.1 point

Its always nice to see another Dane interested in otaku culture I've in fact already dabbled in a few hiragana courses, not that i learned much. I really enjoyed G-Senjou no Maou which has probably been my favourite for a while although Hoshizora no Memoria is also high up there. Lately i'd say the Muv Luv series has been my favourite, im going through my first playthrough of Alternative right now and gotta say i really enjoy the setting.1 point

I thought it was just stalled since the TL'er was working on SubaHibi. Speaking of which, add SubaHibi to the list for all three genres. The editing is almost done. Hopefully we'll get it end of July/early August.1 point -

I actually do want to make a video of me going crazy about the propeller announcement (may or may not include references to weed, headshots and MLG)1 point

Ultimately I will probably end up reading everything announced at MangaGamer's Otakon panel, which is more than I can say about AX. I will probably play Haruka for only an hour for curiosity's sake, I will probably read the fan-made Umineko PS3-to-PC port and not MG's version (I'm sure they're not happy to hear that), and I won't even touch the sonohana game. Himawari is the most interesting title of the two conventions, but at least everything at Otakon at least seems readable.1 point

https://vndb.org/v1313 Try this to wash your mouth out. It is more enjoyable. Sadly, the Yorkshire-Berkshire sub-brand produces the only readable Atelier-Kaguya games that aren't complete nukige... and even most of those are nukige.1 point -

Otakon2015 Announcements & Discussion
XReaper reacted to Suzu Fanatic for a topic
Honestly I'm torn, I'm a huge Minori fan after reading through EF, ....But Propeller....hnnng.... Though honestly, think my vote will go with Yuri ghosts as well - we need a good official yuri that isn't a total nukige. (solely basing off vndbs' description, i could be way off) EDIT: changed my mind, gotta vote Tokyo babel - I can't betray the company that created Suzu. Plus honestly, I can't even begin to count how many times I wished MG, or ANYONE really, would take on a long and serious Chuuni title. (that wasn't already Fan TL'd - sorry Grisaia)1 point -
I'm not sure if you'll find my opinion trustworthy since I'm actually translating the game, but I've read all Higashide's vns, and I didn't find Tokyo Babel that much different. The poor reception on egs is probably because most of the fans were used to his titles having more sexual tension as opposed to pure chuuni stuff that Tokyo Babel is (incidentally, even Dies Irae is not *that* highly rated on egs, people over there tend to like steamy stuff instead). I originally was interested in translating any propeller title as long as it was written by Higashide, and I'm pretty happy I got this. I hope you guys will like it, too.1 point

Otakon2015 Announcements & Discussion
Suzu Fanatic reacted to Decay for a topic
It's a bit less than an hour until the panel so I will post my predictions here so the record can prove how wrong smart I was. 1. Supipara. They may be counting this as one of the five. 2. Tsuriotsu. It's accessible, it's well regarded, it fits in line with what sells for them, it's modern and looks nice, I don't know why they wouldn't pick it up. 3. Fortissimo. I think MangaGamer wants to do more action chuuni stuff and this is one such title that's already available to them and can go on Steam. 4. Aoiro Rinne. The hint posted on their twitter very strongly alluded to this. The one problem with the theory is that Doddler has said none of the announcements are for games that have had fan projects before, but perhaps he misspoke and meant fan patches. Either way, this fits way too well with their hint. 5. Some BL title. NTY did well for MG and I do believe that they said Good Haro's next translation will be announced at Otakon. I know almost nothing about BL and I can't begin to give even a half-assed guess at what it would be. It's probably not gay butlers. Something else to note: one of the announced titles is going to be translated by Conjuorer and Garerei, the duo behind Himawari. Fortissimo would be something they might translate. I do believe either Tulip Goddess Maria or BlackDragonHunt said their next titles are being announced at Otakon and I'm annoyed I can't remember who (maybe it's both). Maria has said that she'll translate almost anything as long as she doesn't hate it. Cafe is finished on Euphoria and is free to work on something else, which would be Aoiro Rinne, the title he was fan translating before he was recruited by MG. I would say that Aoiro Rinne is the least likely of the bunch, actually, because of the doddler quote, and also because it's from a totally dead publisher and how would anyone even get the rights? Even still, all of the other options I'm looking at seem even less likely to me. Such meaningless speculation when you could just wait 50 minutes to hear the truth. edit: There will be a livestream here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/animecons-industry2 And a liveblog here: http://t.co/oxOler9Q0b Kind of wish Kyrt would update the OP or that I would have posted another thread to hijack that role. Oh well, too late now. I'm much too lazy to make an actual effort post tonight.1 point -

Does this happen when you run the game's .exe? If so it's probably because you're not using a NoDVD crack. This error is usually related to that. I'm pretty sure you can crack Majikoi S (and the rest of Minato Soft's stuff) with AlphaROMdie: http://azure.kdays.cn/onekeyunlock/alpharomdie-build20140214 Just run it and drag the game's .exe file into the alphaROM window and it'll create a shortcut inside the game folder that you can use to run the game.1 point
