Also Tiago I didn't read all those gigantonormous walls of text but I think you're mistaken on the purpose of a review. Until someone proves me objectivity is a thing, I'll consider that the goal of a review is to bring up analysis/facts about a work and then proceed to emit an opinion about it - preferably an informed opinion. If batman says something like "the common route is very long with lots of repetitions" it's a fact. Up to him to like it or not but the reader has been informed that this is part of the game, and if he's a critical reader he'll figure out whether it would bother him or not. As for the 'informed opinion' part, I don't see any contextual information that could make the statement "I don't like the long and repetitive common route of LB!" a reading error or could explain how it's not really an issue at all.

Access to information allows for a more stable understanding of a situation, and better planning - regardless of the subject. Not "being the cook" is irrelevant, it gives insight on the cooks behaviour, how skilled they are, and if they have any habits they fall into on a consistant basis. "can I trust this cook?" With SP being the core example in this case, it can give consumers a idea how SP operates as a business. A company that can't keep a firm handle on its own internal timetables and deadlines will rarely have the respect of a consumer (cough Jast cough). Another thing to consider, is that a consumer is also a potential investor. Who in their right mind would want to invest in a company that cannot provide confident, and regular reports on the level of productivity going on with each project under its umbrella?

Oh, I see. VNDB's regular listing habits led me to believe otherwise. I would think that a game listed as two distinct entities on Steam would be likewise represented on VNDB. When you lock yourself onto one genre, and like it over the other, you simply can't be objective. That is a terrible idea. Whats the point of doing reviews if you only stick to what you like? Am I qualified to write this review? Just as qualified as any of you are. I think LB! is a bad VN. I'm also just some guy who reads VNs.

I think so many members of the community having negative opinions of Little Busters! implies very strongly that we're spoiled in the west in terms of game quality. Since better games tend to get translated first, there aren't that many bad games out there to choose from if you can't read them in the original language. I agree with most of the negative points raised by the review and by the users here, but for me they didn't add up to a negative experience. I liked the game, even in the context of it being less transcendent than many other KEY games. To me it would be a shame if people avoided playing it because it scored this poorly on a review.

I pretty much agree with Sanah on this. Exact project status is a luxury that normal customers do not need to know, nor are they entitled to that information. It's cool that MangaGamer does it, but if Sekai Project doesn't think it's worth their while, then, well, oh well. They operate like almost every single other video game developer/publisher in the world. It's unreasonable to expect more. Well, what IS reasonable, like Sanah says, is to expect more transparency when it comes to the 18+ stuff. Outside of that, I don't think anyone has a right to know SP's inner workings.

The original PC version appears to have been split into two parts. They probably stuck with that because the cheaper you can get a product, the better it'll sell on Steam--regardless of other considerations such as quality. Wait, they split a <10hr game into 2 parts and are selling it at $20 each? Who do they think they are? Winged Cloud? Edit: Also wow, the top review comment is plagiarized from a wiki article on a work by Friedrich Nietzsche. What the hell is wrong with people? Is this what the quest for cheap laughs has come to?

I used his name as an example because I figured Rain knew who he was around the forum. ^^; Even though he and I never spoke before, I noticed his posts around.. sorta like, seeing a classmate around even though you've never talked. Confession: Honestly, what made me continue talking to him (despite the strange first encounter) was probably because I initially had a small good impression of him already from the little I had already seen of him around the forum & and also snooping on his profile. I knew he was teaching other people Japanese, so I really admired that~ and then found out he also liked similar video games, etc. so we easily clicked as we talked more. In a way, you could say I was already interested in getting to know him as a friend... and he made it easy for me by initiating first. He created the chance for connection. If he hadn't, we never would have talked at all. I'm not so sure how receptive I would have been if I had no sense of familiarity with Rain at all before he gave me a weird introduction. So as strange as it sounds, I think his forum participation/image really helped give me a good first impression~ although Rain messaged me first, I probably noticed him first before he noticed me, haha. -I think what I want to say~ it may not be a good idea to start out with weird messages! But it's important to try and initiate things somehow. And people may notice things about you even if you don't realize it~ (and already forming an opinion of you) especially if you're participating in the same things and in similar social circle. It can help or hinder further communications with that particular person depending on what impression she already has perhaps. If anyone who participated remembers.. this is why I was so amused at Rain's stalking behavior even in NB's Battle Royale game. Lol. I love Clannad, but it has some flaws too. What sets Clannad apart in my opinion is that the growth of Nagisa, is far more noticeable, and just better done than Rin. I dislike how After Story ended, but I like it more than how LitBus ended because there at least was some sort of reasonable, in my eyes, explanation and it did not feel like a total ass pull. Clannad's routes also were, for the most part, better done, but a few routes did fall into what I call the "forced drama" category (Kotomi's being the biggest example of this to me). I'll get into more detail when I do the review, but I think Clannad is better.

I still don't see how I failed to showcase both sides of the VN? Want me to lie about it and say, "Wow these plot holes I just fell into sure are great!" or "Wonderful! I loved this 1 hour scene about making pancakes!" or even, "Top kek ending lads! I really liked how the emotional strain is completely gone and was pointless!" If you are reading a review to reaffirm your stance on a VN, you are doing it wrong. Your stance on a VN should stand on its own, and not be swayed by general public opinion. On my fucking grave stone, it will be written, "Little Busters is a 4/10" And underneath it, "Sakura Spirit was more enjoyable."

Hey Fuwa, long time no post. Sorry about that. Here's the state of things: We finished up our Kickstarter back in mid-July. We had a crazy amount of support, reaching over double our funding goal to cruise in at 48k raised. We got about 15k more on Backerkit off of merch sales, so we're doing pretty well budget-wise. We probably won't be able to spring for the opening animation like we wanted to, mostly because we underestimated production costs when devising stretch goals (and also kinda forgot about taxes... Whoops.) That said, we've been in discussion lately about potential options for our opening theme song. Anyone you'd like to hear? General progress updates are probably gonna be a bit less frequent now than they have been (on our blog and KS too, not just here) because we'll be getting into the meat of the project, and there won't be as much stuff to show off or post about, since we don't wanna spoil too much prior to release. I'll try to make some blog posts every now and then, but I'm not entirely sure what to write about. If you've got anything you'd like to know about (the development process, the team itself, certain characters, whatever) I'm open to suggestions. Right now our sprite artist is working on some character design upgrades for a few of the main cast, and we'll show the results of that once it's finished. Should coincide with the cover art for our game being completed as well. Dunno if anyone will be at AWA in Atlanta in a few weeks, but I will be, as well as some of my teammates. You might catch us around Sekai Project's table in the vendor hall, and we'll also be announcing something cool (and not HRP related) during Sekai Project's panel. Cheers!
