    Fuwanovel Confessions

So today, I was out in public, sitting near a bunch of other girls & some guys waiting. Since I was bored, I decided to take out my tablet and play a visual novel. I didn't want to encounter a possible hentai-scene, so I avoided playing my current one which left off with the main character & heroine in bed together. I figured the other visual novel I very recently started would be safe to play, so I proceeded to~ ...5 minutes in and I hit an ecchi scene auuughhhh, I instantly hid the screen, and tried to turn it off without anyone seeing. I just get embarrassed to play ecchi/hentai parts in public, even if it's just a picture. Well, good news is that I risked playing the first game again, and thankfully there was no hentai scene, lol. Just thought I'd share a small amusing thing that happened to me today. My reaction was sort of funny (to me at least) ^^; Confession: I changed my avatar, and realized it's somewhat similar to Rains (has a mask). It makes me feel a bit happy/amused, haha. Don't change your avatar Rain! Let's match~ for awhile.

I wouldn't go that far, but if Winged Cloud actually realized on the singular purpose the games are good for I wouldn't be able to dismiss the games as utterly worthless. As story-focused visual novels with no sexual content they suck, but with sexual content and competent voice acting at least they could make halfway decent porn. Although with no voice acting they'll be substandard even by doujin nukige standards.

  7. Steam is filled with ignorant plebeians who just accept stuff as they are once they get Westernized and ignore their origins and what they truly are. I cried when I saw Konosora get butchered by MoeNovel and distributed by Steam. Trash like that should never be on the market. I played Kagura Douchuuki and their art is pretty amazing on CGs. Reminds me of Alicesoft with some of them. What I like about getting CGs in this game is you can get them in all sorts of ways, not just selecting dialogues and progressing through the game and there's actually some gameplay involved. Some involve losing, backtracking, and there's some CGs from sidequests by helping the other villagers. Also gotta love that my xbox controller works with this game! Not a lot of eroge games can do that! lol Removing the H content in this game is literally stripping the game of all it does best. It's like Makoto from School Days without his unfaithfulness or Saber from Fate Stay Night without excalibur. It just wont work and youre completely transforming it to something else.

  8. This list won't feature the VNs in order of "how good they are". Rating them would be way too much of a clusterfuck to me. The VNs are not in their respective order. Meaning number 1 is not the best, and so on. 1_CHAOS; HEAD 2_Cross Channel 3_G-Senjou no Maou 4_Fate/Stay Night 5_Forest This Visual Novel is the easiest visual novel translated to get a bad ending without using a walkthrough- which just adds to the fun of it. It makes a massive amount of references to common literature, which makes it even better. 6_Katahane It may seem like an ordinary moege- the atmosphere is light, the story is full of cuteness, which you can note by the character design and soundtrack. It gets really good in the middle, and you'll be dying to know what happens in the end. A game with multiple perspectives, it's definitely one of the most enjoyable Visual Novels I've ever read. 7 Majikoi 8_Little Busters! 9_Tsukihime "You shouldn't tell lies that you can't even fool yourself with" 10_Swan Song A post apocalyptic Visual Novel. 11_Symphonic Rain It may seem like your ordinary moege. Trust me, it's not. 12_Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo (and sequel) 13_Sekien no Inganock Steampunk. An atmosphere full of mysteries and references that will make your head blow up. 14_Steins; Gate A visual novel that deals extensively with time travel and it's consequences. 15_Utawarerumono 16_Fault: Milestone (1 & 2) 17_Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni 18_Kara no Shoujo 19_Umineko no Naku Koro ni 20_Planetarian 21_Ever 17 Another top 10. 22_Remember11 It lacks in the ending, but otherwise the story of this VN has enough to easily become one of my all-time favorites. 23_Zanmataisei Demonbane 24_Rewrite "Could it possibly be rewritten, this fate of hers?" Another one that enters the top 10. 25_Narcissu 26_Grisaia no Kajitsu 27_Saya no Uta Only if you enjoy dark and messed up settings. 28_Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni 29_Eien no Aselia 30_Rose Guns Days (1 & 2) There are small sections of gameplay on this one, but you can skip them by pressing the space bar, so this still qualifies. 31_Sengoku Rance I feel obliged to comment on this VN before suggesting it to anyone. It's an Alicesoft title, which speaks a lot for itself... If you don't know how it's going to be like, well.. Kind of tough to describe. Lots of sex, including comedy rape. Alicesoft tends to make the whole story a comedy until right near the end, where things actually do get serious. It's worth checking out, if you don't mind Rance's personality. 32_Phenomeno Want a short VN that can captivate you for their whole duration? Here is it. Visual novel adapted from the youth horror novel written by Hajime Ninomae and illustrated by yoshitoshi ABe. 33_Ef- A Fairy Tale of the Two 34_Dysfunctional Systems Another one great for those who want short Visual Novels. 35_Daibanchou Another Alicesoft title. While Rouga is not near Rance's level when it comes to pissing off people, alicesoft's style is something which often doesn't please people. 36_Yume Miru Kusuri The endings pack quite a punch. 37_Kikokugai- The Cyber Slayer 38_Eden 39_Hoshizora no Memoria 40_Katawa Shoujo Yep, it's somewhat overrated. Still, the fact that it is substantially easier for those who are starting to play visual novels to read should not be discarded, and overall, the story was good. 41_World End Economica 42_YU-NO 43_Shikkoku no Sharnoth Yep, there is a minigame on this one. If you download a save data you can skip the minigame, though. So it still qualifies. Another VN that enters my top 10. 44_Muv Luv Alternative The first Muv Luv didn't have enough to enter this list. You should still read it, though~ MLA is definitely awesome. 45_Dangan Ronpa 46_Comyu - Kuroi Ryuu to Yasashii Oukoku 47_Hanachirasu 48_Ayakashibito 49_I/O 50_Deardrops

  9. Possibly one of the trickiest translations to get it to work properly. It envolves several steps and I took a good 4 hours just to get it to work the first time I was trying to play this game. I will make a step-by-step guide on how the process should be done. Getting Welcome To Pia Carrot (PC-FX) to work: 1) Get the .iso file and the emulator. For PC-FX emulators I suggest Magic Engine-FX or Mednafen. Mednafen is a freeware while Magic Engine-FX is a demo which you can play the games for 5 minutes and then the game freezes. You can buy the full version on their website with no limitations: http://www.magicengi...mefx-test16.zipAfter that, replace the original .exe file that came with the one you just downloaded. I tried it on the other versions and it didn't work, that's why I recommended getting the 1.1.1 version earlier on. 4) About the ISO: First, make sure it's not corrupted. The first time I got the Pia Carrot iso, it did not work when I tried loading it on the emulator. After I tried downloading it from a different source, it worked just fine. Make sure there is a .cue file and a .bin fine inside the zipped file you downloaded. 5) Get the English patch. You can download it here: http://www.romhacking.net/translations/1372/ 6) After you got the English patch, extract the files and put in one the same folder as the unzipped .cue and .bin files and the emulator. Make sure you have everything in the same folder, otherwise it will not work! Note: Do not open the patch file! Your game will not work if you do it and the .bin and .cue files will be ruined! Having the patch in the same folder as the game .bin and .cue files is enough to have it in English! Makes sense, right? 7) After you got the patch in the same folder as the .bin and .cue file, mount the .cue file into a virtual drive. Note: DO NOT MOUNT THE .BIN FILE. it will not work. Open your emulator and try booting the CD. It should work now! Enjoy Welcome To Pia Carrot!

Well, for once they made the right decision, though I'm not expecting this to be exceptional in any way, at least it's fappable (or so I hope). I think they'd greatly benefit from voice acting though because otherwise it's almost just like googling for hentai images. (still better than no hentai though).

Corpse Party: Book of Shadows Misc. Thoughts/Ramblings(SPOILERS) Music: 9/10 I really enjoyed the techno-horror BGMs, they did a fantastic job matching the mood. Some of my favorite moments include: Art: 7/10 Looks good enough, though sometimes characters can look noticeably different between CGs: ~~ Overall: 7.5/10 A good 'prequel' to expand upon the Corpse Party universe for fans of the series, though it leaves much to be desired in the sequel aspect. Though I guess that's what Blood Drive is for

    Tiny Dungeon Black and White

First, I’ll say a few words about the Tiny Dungeon series. This series is made up of five games (if you include Endless Dungeon, which is a sequel/canon ending that brings a conclusion to the post-Brave and Slave events). The first three VNs are each focused on one of the three main heroines… Veil Sein, Ururu Kajuta, and Note Ruum. The fourth VN – Brave or Slave – brings an end to the story began in Black and White, and the fifth – Endless Dungeon – is a final conclusion and after-story for the entire group. The first VN, Black and White, contains the common route and the Veil Sein (the demon girl) route. Veil is probably the most obvious deredere heroine in existence… since she doesn’t have a drop of tsun in her body. She loves Hime, lives for him, and without hesitation will erase the existence of anyone who bothers him. The fact that she has the power to do so (the most powerful individual in the demon realm) kind of makes her scary to the various people who don’t like Hime (obviously). Needless to say, I love her, lol. Anyway, this VN, like all the VNs in the Tiny Dungeon series, balances hilarity, serious drama, and emotional moments in a way that you generally won’t see in a VN that is so relatively easy to read. That’s not to say it is a really easy read (it tends to range between 4.5-7)… but it is much easier to read than most VNs with action scenes. The music in all these VNs is pretty good, primarily utilizing piano and techno pieces to enhance and create moods as is appropriate, and they are generally tastefully presented. The voices can be a bit exaggerated, and there is one scene early on when you’ll notice a bit of fuzziness in the background (as a friend explained to me, it is the engine the game runs on, rather than the actual voice-acting or recording itself). However, they are nonetheless generally suited to their characters… and there are a lot of characters. In this VN, there are three main heroines (as stated above) and four total sub-heroines in the series who make up Hime’s hare- I mean, his group of friends. They consist of Amia (Note’s little sister), Opera (Ururu’s psychotic maid), Fon (the dragon/demon hybrid), and Kou (the protagonist’s human roommate). There are also another dozen or so major and minor characters who appear on screen and have a significant effect on the story as a whole, though not all of them appear in the first game. Generally speaking, there is no point in any of the main-series VNs where there is no point to what is going on. The story is always moving forward or creating the basis for moving forward, and the comedy that is used to frost the cake is ever-present, save for in the most tense scenes. Hime, the protagonist, is a natural leader and hard worker who has an incredibly strong will and a reasonable level of intelligence (he’s not a genius, but neither is he average). More importantly, he understands people and has a big, accepting heart. Generally speaking, he is one of the few unvoiced protagonists outside of a chuunige where I truly and absolutely enjoyed every second behind his eyes… One thing you have to keep in mind about this VN is that it is one part in four… and the events in this game are inevitably going to break your heart at times. I know I cried several times in the course of this VN, even though I’ve already played it before. Overall, this VN still gets a strong recommendation from me, both for relatively advanced beginners and veterans alike.

  21. In this post I'll attempt to introduce JWPce (for those who don't know what it is) (* = refer to JWPce User Manual) JWPce JWPce (Japanese Word Processor for Windows) by Glenn Rosenthal is a program designed for English speakers who are studying Japanese. Now, JWPce has BUNCH of functions (13 others) but I'm only going to talk about the DICTIONARY FUNCTION. Upon searching a word, the dictionary will give you the word in Kanji, the word in Hiragana and the meaning of the word. The dictionary is not limited to Japanese to English. Press Ctrl A to search from English to Japanese. (To return to Japanese to English, Ctrl K) How to use the Dictionary for Learning Japanese through Visual Novels Rains told me about this program. lol This is what I'm using to read Raw VNs. (I'm not an expert yet) After opening the program, press F6. On the left side, you'll see buttons such as Search, Sort... Click Options. A window will appear. Look on the left side and check Track Clipboard. Then OK. Say you have a hooked Japanese sentence on the ITH. Upon highlighting a word (in the ITH) that you do not know, the dictionary will automatically search that word. This is the result of the procedure I described above. If you look at the upper right side of the dictionary, you'll see four stuff you can check or uncheck. These things are used to limit the search. A matter of one's preference. Personally, I check them all so that only the needed meanings are shown and the search is fast (but there are disadvantages too). Basically, you will be reading the text on the ITH which means that parsing (identifying words, particles, etc.) is done by you. In case no matches are found, a warning is triggered and the default warning sound is annoying. Sound can be made tolerable by changing your Windows theme. JWPce uses EDICT, ENAMDICT, and other dictionaries (you can add others) at the same time.* It also has a USER DICTIONARY - a personalized dictionary you can make.* Note: ☆ JWPce is free under the terms of GNU General Public License Link to download ☆ No romaji in this program. Go learn Kana first. ☆ Radical Look-up (F5) is useful for Kanjis you can't hook ☆ Again, to make the warning sound quite acceptable in the ears, I suggest changing your theme. ☆ There are times when the program crashes. This is because of certain words (it can't search). I suggest moving to the next line of the game and open the program again. ☆ To recognize the kanji more (make it bigger) or for more details about a certain kanji, point the mouse to the kanji (on the dictionary), right click then click Get info. ☆ I suggest reading the User Manual (atleast the section about dictionary) ☆ Some things I said are based only on my observations. Stuff may vary. ☆ credit to rainsismyfav for introducing me to JWPce / ITH method I will answer questions I can / am willing to answer. Also please correct me for false information I might have stated. See you around.

  31. Jormungand is cool, I guess. Good characters and backstories, but the main plot is pretty stupid and lacks good conflict, buildup, and the like. The main character also feels mary sue-ish as she always wins. It explores a few messed-up minds, but not to the extent of Black Lagoon. It's disappointing if you're expecting Black Lagoon, maybe disappointing in general. Psycho-Pass is interesting. Interesting plot, characters, and generally skillful. It just isn't explored as much as I would've liked it to be. I liked it, but was never wowed. Baccano's my personal favorite among the recommendations for Black Lagoon. It's about messed-up characters, but despite the over-the-top violence it's fun and happy. Most of the fun comes from it's non-linear storytelling method though, so it's best you marathon it to not get confused. It's simply a blast to watch. On personal notes, my favorite animes are Utena, Penguindrum, and Shin Sekai Yori. For the former 2, if you like surrealism then go for it. Otherwise, it could be interesting or bad to you. The latter is a good, interesting, psychological horror with an amazing lore and ending. However, it is extremely slow-paced and at times, stressful. Not really one to watch to be entertained.

But it totally does. It is just a visual novel with a weird structure. It is a visual novel nobody has ever made a walkthrough for, and anyone who claims they have is scamming you. Every route is unknown to you as the protagonist, and choices can seem arbitrary in every single way but have the most profound of effects. Every possible route has a variable length, and may very well span the rest of your experience with this "reality visual novel". Of course, those same routes can be exited both on purpose and by accident. When a route is finished, it doesn't mean the credits will roll either. You can still access other routes. Routes can occur during any given arc of your life, and routes don't even need to be romantic in nature. Confession: I should stop now before I suddenly go too far down this rabbit hole. XD
